We investigate the properties of electromagnetic fields in isobaric ${}_{44}^{96}\mathrm{Ru}+{}_{44}^{96}\mathrm{Ru}$ and ${}_{40}^{96}\mathrm{Zr}+{}_{40}^{96}\mathrm{Zr}$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=200\phantom{\rule{0.28em}{0ex}}\mathrm{GeV}$ by using a multiphase transport model with special emphasis on the correlation between magneticfield direction and participant plane angle ${\Psi}_{2}$ (or spectator plane angle ${\Psi}_{2}^{\mathrm{SP}}$), i.e., $\langle cos\phantom{\rule{0.16em}{0ex}}2({\Psi}_{B}{\Psi}_{2})\rangle $ [or $\langle cos\phantom{\rule{0.16em}{0ex}}2({\Psi}_{B}{\Psi}_{2}^{\mathrm{SP}})\rangle $]. Longrange azimuthal correlations in proton–proton and proton–nucleus collisions from the incoherent scattering of partons
/ Ma, GuoLiang ; Bzdak, Adam
We show that the incoherent elastic scattering of partons, as present in a multiphase transport model (AMPT), with a modest parton–parton crosssection of σ=1.5–3 mb , naturally explains the longrange twoparticle azimuthal correlation as observed in proton–proton and proton–nucleus collisions at the Large Hadron Collider..
