The spin-structure functions and , and the spin-dependent partial cross-section have been extracted from the polarized cross-sections differences, and measured for the reaction, in the E97-110 experiment at Jefferson Lab. Polarized electrons with energies from 1.147 to 4.404 GeV were scattered at angles of and from a longitudinally or transversely polarized $^{3}$He target. The data cover the kinematic regions of the quasi-elastic, resonance production and beyond. From the extracted spin-structure functions, the first moments , and are evaluated with high precision for the neutron in the range from 0.035 to . The comparison of the data and the chiral effective field theory predictions reveals the importance of proper treatment of the Δ degree of freedom for spin observables.

"value": "The spin-structure functions <math><msub><mrow><mi>g</mi></mrow><mrow><mn>1</mn></mrow></msub></math> and <math><msub><mrow><mi>g</mi></mrow><mrow><mn>2</mn></mrow></msub></math>, and the spin-dependent partial cross-section <math><msub><mrow><mi>\u03c3</mi></mrow><mrow><mi>TT</mi></mrow></msub></math> have been extracted from the polarized cross-sections differences, <math><mi>\u0394</mi><msub><mrow><mi>\u03c3</mi></mrow><mrow><mo>\u2225</mo></mrow></msub><mrow><mo>(</mo><mi>\u03bd</mi><mo>,</mo><msup><mrow><mi>Q</mi></mrow><mrow><mn>2</mn></mrow></msup><mo>)</mo></mrow></math> and <math><mi>\u0394</mi><msub><mrow><mi>\u03c3</mi></mrow><mrow><mo>\u22a5</mo></mrow></msub><mrow><mo>(</mo><mi>\u03bd</mi><mo>,</mo><msup><mrow><mi>Q</mi></mrow><mrow><mn>2</mn></mrow></msup><mo>)</mo></mrow></math> measured for the <math><mover><mrow><mmultiscripts><mrow><mtext>He</mtext></mrow><mprescripts></mprescripts><none></none><mrow><mtext>3</mtext></mrow></mmultiscripts></mrow><mrow><mo>\u2192</mo></mrow></mover><mo>(</mo><mover><mrow><mtext>e</mtext></mrow><mrow><mo>\u2192</mo></mrow></mover><mo>,</mo><msup><mrow><mtext>e</mtext></mrow><mrow><mo>\u2032</mo></mrow></msup><mo>)</mo><mtext>X</mtext></math> reaction, in the E97-110 experiment at Jefferson Lab. Polarized electrons with energies from 1.147 to 4.404 GeV were scattered at angles of <math><msup><mrow><mn>6</mn></mrow><mrow><mo>\u2218</mo></mrow></msup></math> and <math><msup><mrow><mn>9</mn></mrow><mrow><mo>\u2218</mo></mrow></msup></math> from a longitudinally or transversely polarized $^{3}$He target. The data cover the kinematic regions of the quasi-elastic, resonance production and beyond. From the extracted spin-structure functions, the first moments <math><mover><mrow><msub><mrow><mi>\u0393</mi></mrow><mrow><mn>1</mn></mrow></msub></mrow><mo>\u203e</mo></mover><mrow><mo>(</mo><msup><mrow><mi>Q</mi></mrow><mrow><mn>2</mn></mrow></msup><mo>)</mo></mrow></math>, <math><msub><mrow><mi>\u0393</mi></mrow><mrow><mn>2</mn></mrow></msub><mrow><mo>(</mo><msup><mrow><mi>Q</mi></mrow><mrow><mn>2</mn></mrow></msup><mo>)</mo></mrow></math> and <math><msub><mrow><mi>I</mi></mrow><mrow><mi>TT</mi></mrow></msub><mrow><mo>(</mo><msup><mrow><mi>Q</mi></mrow><mrow><mn>2</mn></mrow></msup><mo>)</mo></mrow></math> are evaluated with high precision for the neutron in the <math><msup><mrow><mi>Q</mi></mrow><mrow><mn>2</mn></mrow></msup></math> range from 0.035 to <math><mn>0.24</mn><mspace width=\"0.25em\"></mspace><msup><mrow><mtext>GeV</mtext></mrow><mrow><mn>2</mn></mrow></msup></math>. The comparison of the data and the chiral effective field theory predictions reveals the importance of proper treatment of the \u0394 degree of freedom for spin observables."
