We investigate the multidimensional partonic structure of spin-0 mesons, specifically the pion and the kaon, by evaluating their complete set of eight generalized parton distributions (GPDs) up to twist-4. Utilizing the light-front quark model (LFQM) with the Brodsky-Huang-Lepage prescription, we compute these distributions in the kinematically rich nonzero skewness (<math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>ξ</mi><mo>≠</mo><mn>0</mn></math>) domain, strictly within the Dokshitzer-Gribov-Lipatov-Altarelli-Parisi region, <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>x</mi><mo>∈</mo><mo stretchy="false">[</mo><mi>ξ</mi><mo>,</mo><mn>1</mn><mo stretchy="false">]</mo></math>. To construct a three-dimensional tomographic picture, we perform Fourier transforms of the momentum-space GPDs to obtain the impact-parameter-dependent parton distribution functions in the transverse plane and the corresponding diffraction patterns in the longitudinal coordinate space. The numerical results explicitly reveal the consequences of SU(3) flavor symmetry breaking in the LFQM, as the strange quark in the kaon dynamically shifts spatial localizations compared to the lighter up quarks. We also observe that while higher-twist correlations exhibit massive amplitude scaling in the pion, they are heavily suppressed by the larger macroscopic mass of the kaon.

We present fixed-order perturbative calculations up to four-loop order for a generic nonglobal QCD observable in hadron-hadron collisions. Specifically, we study the invariant-mass distribution of the highest-<math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>p</mi><mi>t</mi></msub></math> jet produced in association with a vector boson or a Higgs boson, where jets are defined using the Cambridge/Aachen sequential recombination algorithm. We investigate the energy-momentum tensor of pseudoscalar charmonium and bottomonium within the framework of the self-consistent light-front quark model. The gravitational form factors (GFFs), namely the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>A</mi></math> and <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>D</mi></math>-terms, are evaluated in terms of the light-front wave functions. The corresponding spatial mechanical distributions in the transverse plane are obtained through the Fourier transform of these GFFs. To examine the sensitivity of the results to the internal quark-antiquark distribution inside the meson, two distinct Gaussian forms are employed for the spatial part of the wave function. We analyze several mechanical properties in the transverse plane, including the momentum density, pressure distribution, shear stress, force density, and internal energy density. The pressure distribution exhibits a node where it changes sign from positive (repulsive) to negative (attractive) with increasing transverse distance. The force distribution remains positive throughout the transverse plane, supporting the stability condition proposed in earlier studies. Most of the spatial distributions, except for the shear stress, are found to be sensitive to the choice of the spatial wave function near the center of the meson, while they become nearly insensitive toward the periphery. In contrast, the shear stress distribution exhibits noticeable sensitivity to the choice of wave function in the intermediate transverse region.

Boundary integrability provides rare analytic control over field theories with interfaces, from quantum impurity problems to open string dynamics. We propose a new approach for integrable boundaries in two-dimensional sigma models that uses the divisor structure of the Lax connection to identify admissible reflection maps, including when standard parity-based constructions fail. Applied to open strings on <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><msub><mrow><mi>AdS</mi></mrow><mn>3</mn></msub><mo>×</mo><msup><mrow><mi>S</mi></mrow><mn>3</mn></msup></mrow></math> with mixed Neveu-Schwarz–Neveu-Schwarz–Ramond-Ramond flux, where the Neveu-Schwarz–Neveu-Schwarz flux breaks world sheet parity, we find two interesting branches of integrable boundaries: one restricted to pure Ramond-Ramond flux and another admitting D-branes wrapping twisted conjugacy classes for generic flux. At the Wess-Zumino-Witten point, the latter reduces to the known conformal D-branes, opening a path to comparison with conformal perturbation theory. More broadly, our framework suggests generalizations of standard lattice constructions that may enlarge existing classifications of integrable boundaries.

We construct Wigner-like equations of motion for symmetric continuous-spin fields in anti–de Sitter space of arbitrary dimension, treating both the bosonic and fermionic cases. We generalize the classical flat-space Wigner constraints for bosonic continuous-spin fields, and for the fermionic case we adopt the equations proposed by Bekaert and Mourad as our starting point. This is achieved by covariantizing the ordinary derivatives and deforming the resulting constraints so that they form a closed algebra. The construction is carried out in a metriclike formalism and yields a system of first-class constraints that define a representation of the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><mi mathvariant="fraktur">s</mi><mi mathvariant="fraktur">o</mi></mrow><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>2</mn><mo>,</mo><mi>D</mi><mo>−</mo><mn>1</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> isometry algebra, realized via the Lie-Lorentz derivative. Using these constraints, we compute the eigenvalues of the quadratic and quartic Casimir operators and compare the obtained values with Metsaev’s classification of continuous-spin representations for both the bosonic and fermionic cases. A crucial algebraic role is played by special operators of the (super)algebra Howe dual to the Lorentz subalgebra <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><mi mathvariant="fraktur">s</mi><mi mathvariant="fraktur">o</mi></mrow><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>1</mn><mo>,</mo><mi>D</mi><mo>−</mo><mn>1</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math>: the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><mi mathvariant="fraktur">s</mi><mi mathvariant="fraktur">l</mi></mrow><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>2</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> Casimir operator in the bosonic case, and the Casimir’s ghost of the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><mi mathvariant="fraktur">o</mi><mi mathvariant="fraktur">s</mi><mi mathvariant="fraktur">p</mi></mrow><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>1</mn><mo stretchy="false">|</mo><mn>2</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> superalgebra in the fermionic case. We establish a geometric correspondence between the functional renormalization group and a Ricci flow modified by a potential-driven diffeomorphism. By rewriting the Polchinski exact renormalization group (RG) equation as an infinite-dimensional Fokker-Planck equation for field-distribution functionals, we show how a probability flow driven by a “thermodynamic” free-energy functional induces the evolution of the Fisher information metric on the coupling-constant manifold. Using the continuous scale-dissipation rate of this free-energy functional, we construct an RG-flow entropy functional that provides an infinite-dimensional counterpart of Perelman’s <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi mathvariant="script">F</mi></math>-entropy. The parametric Hessian of this RG-flow entropy then encodes the scale deformation of the Fisher information metric, thereby linking the Jordan–Kinderlehrer–Otto (JKO)-Wasserstein flow in field-configuration space to the geometry of the coupling-constant manifold. An emergent scalar information potential <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi mathvariant="normal">Φ</mi></math> encodes the potential-driven diffeomorphism component, restoring the tensorial form of the flow under reparametrizations of the coupling coordinates. In this representation, the successive integration of high-energy degrees of freedom effectively smooths out the curvature of the information manifold so that RG fixed points are realized as steady Ricci soliton equilibria. These results connect quantum field theory, optimal transport, and Perelman’s theory of geometric evolution, providing a geometric framework for characterizing the stability, universality, and topological structure of quantum field theories.

Sampling lattice field theories near criticality is severely hindered by critical slowing down, which makes standard Markov chain methods increasingly inefficient at large lattice volumes. We introduce a multiscale generative sampler, inspired by renormalization-group ideas, that models the Boltzmann distribution through a coarse-to-fine hierarchy across length scales. At each level, a conditional Gaussian mixture model captures the main local dependence of newly introduced variables on the already-sampled coarse field, while a masked continuous normalizing flow refines the remaining conditional structure. Coarse levels encode the dominant long-wavelength modes, and finer levels progressively add short-distance fluctuations. In addition, because the architecture preserves coarse fields exactly during refinement, it provides exact restriction maps at no additional computational cost and directly enables asymptotically unbiased multilevel Monte Carlo variance reduction. For the two-dimensional scalar <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><msup><mrow><mi>ϕ</mi></mrow><mrow><mn>4</mn></mrow></msup></mrow></math> theory near criticality, the method achieves integrated autocorrelation times orders of magnitude smaller than hybrid Monte Carlo (HMC) on large volumes, maintains high importance-sampling efficiency relative to other generative baselines, and reproduces asymptotically unbiased physical observables in statistical agreement with long HMC simulations.

The Radar Echo Telescope for Cosmic Rays, a pathfinder instrument for the radar echo method of ultrahigh energy neutrino detection, was initially deployed near Summit Station, Greenland, in May 2023. After a four-week commissioning period, nine days of data were taken before the instrument went offline. In this article, we describe the instrument as it was deployed, and the initial performance of the detector. We show that the technical aspects of running a radar-based particle cascade detector in the ice have been demonstrated. Analysis of the 2023 data informed improvements that were incorporated into the May–August 2024 deployment, which has just concluded at time of writing. Results from the 2024 run will be presented in forthcoming publications.
