A measurement of the flavor-untagged decay-time-integrated <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>C</mi><mi>P</mi></math> asymmetry in the flavor-specific decay <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><msubsup><mrow><mi>B</mi></mrow><mrow><mi>s</mi></mrow><mrow><mn>0</mn></mrow></msubsup><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><mrow><msubsup><mrow><mi>D</mi></mrow><mrow><mi>s</mi></mrow><mrow><mo>−</mo></mrow></msubsup><msup><mrow><mi>π</mi></mrow><mrow><mo>+</mo></mrow></msup></mrow></mrow></math>, <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><mo stretchy="false">⟨</mo><msubsup><mrow><mi>A</mi></mrow><mrow><mtext>untagged</mtext></mrow><mrow><mi>s</mi></mrow></msubsup><mo stretchy="false">⟩</mo></mrow></math>, is performed using proton-proton collision data collected by the LHCb experiment between 2016 and 2018 at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mn>5.4</mn><mtext> </mtext><mtext> </mtext><msup><mi>fb</mi><mrow><mo>−</mo><mn>1</mn></mrow></msup></math>. The <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>C</mi><mi>P</mi></math> asymmetry is measured in two <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msubsup><mi>D</mi><mi>s</mi><mo>−</mo></msubsup></math> meson decay modes, <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msubsup><mi>D</mi><mi>s</mi><mo>−</mo></msubsup><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><mrow><msup><mi>K</mi><mo>−</mo></msup><msup><mi>K</mi><mo>+</mo></msup><msup><mi>π</mi><mo>−</mo></msup></mrow></math> and <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msubsup><mi>D</mi><mi>s</mi><mo>−</mo></msubsup><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><mrow><msup><mi>π</mi><mo>−</mo></msup><msup><mi>π</mi><mo>+</mo></msup><msup><mi>π</mi><mo>−</mo></msup></mrow></math>. The combined result, <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><mo stretchy="false">⟨</mo><msubsup><mrow><mi>A</mi></mrow><mrow><mtext>untagged</mtext></mrow><mrow><mi>s</mi></mrow></msubsup><mo stretchy="false">⟩</mo><mo>=</mo><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mo>−</mo><mn>1.4</mn><mo>±</mo><mn>5.9</mn><mrow><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mi>stat</mi><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></mrow><mo>±</mo><mn>1.1</mn><mrow><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mi>syst</mi><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></mrow><mo stretchy="false">)</mo><mo>×</mo><msup><mrow><mn>10</mn></mrow><mrow><mo>−</mo><mn>3</mn></mrow></msup></mrow></math>, is consistent with the Standard Model expectation and provides a direct constraint on new physics in tree-level <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>b</mi></math>-hadron decays.

First Measurement of the Decay-Time-Integrated <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>C</mi><mi>P</mi></math> Asymmetry in <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><msubsup><mrow><mi>B</mi></mrow><mrow><mi>s</mi></mrow><mrow><mn>0</mn></mrow></msubsup><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><msubsup><mrow><mi>D</mi></mrow><mrow><mi>s</mi></mrow><mrow><mo>−</mo></mrow></msubsup><msup><mrow><mi>π</mi></mrow><mrow><mo>+</mo></mrow></msup></mrow></math> Decays

In this work we study the radiative decays of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>B</mi><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><mi>ρ</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mi>ω</mi><mo stretchy="false">)</mo><mi>γ</mi></math> processes in the modified perturbative QCD approach, where the transverse momenta of the quark and gluons involved in the interaction process are kept, and the Sudakov factor is incorporated in the theoretical calculation, which are helpful to suppress the infrared end point contribution. A critical infrared momentum cutoff scale is introduced, which is used to separate the soft and hard contributions in QCD. Then the form factors involved in the radiative decays should be separated as hard and soft form factors. The hard form factors can be calculated with the perturbative QCD approach, while the soft form factors should be viewed as soft input parameters. The soft form factors can be obtained by confronting the theoretical calculation of the branching ratios of the radiative decay of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>B</mi></math> meson with the experimental data. Summing the soft and hard form factors, we find that the total form factors are in fine agreement with that obtained by nonperturbative theoretical method, such as the light-cone sum rules of QCD. We also study <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>B</mi><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><mi>ρ</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mi>ω</mi><mo stretchy="false">)</mo><msup><mi>γ</mi><mo>′</mo></msup></math> decays by using the form factors obtained in the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>B</mi><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><mi>ρ</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mi>ω</mi><mo stretchy="false">)</mo><mi>γ</mi></math> decay processes, where <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mi>γ</mi><mo>′</mo></msup></math> is the dark photon introduced by the extra <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>U</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>1</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> symmetry model. The upper limit of the branching ratios of these decays are estimated.

We study the ODE/IM correspondence between the linear problem associated with the supersymmetric affine Toda field equation for the twisted affine Lie superalgebra $\textit{C}$(2) = $$ \mathfrak{osp}{\left(2|2\right)}^{(2)} $$ and two-dimensional $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 1 superconformal field theories (SCFTs). On the ODE side, we introduce a boundary condition more suitable for the conformal limit and the subsequent WKB analysis and diagonalize the resulting Lax operator. This leads to a WKB expansion from which we extract the WKB periods and semi-local conserved quantities up to tenth order. On the IM side, we compute the eigenvalues of the local integrals of motion on the cylinder in both the Neveu-Schwarz and Ramond sectors of 2d $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 1 SCFTs. We then compare the two sides and verify, up to sixth order, that the WKB periods coincide with the eigenvalues of the local integrals of motion for highest-weight states in the Neveu-Schwarz sector.

The ODE/IM correspondence between $\textit{C}$(2)(2)-type linear problems and 2d $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 1 SCFT

We perform a complete one-loop renormalization analysis of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><mi>C</mi><mi>P</mi><mi>T</mi></mrow></math>-odd Lorentz-violating scalar quantum chromodynamics with adjoint scalar matter. Working to first order in the preferred background vector and treating the corresponding operators as perturbative insertions, we compute the ultraviolet-divergent parts of the relevant two-, three-, and four-point Green’s functions for the gauge, scalar, and ghost fields. We show that the gauge sector develops the expected Carroll-Field-Jackiw-type correction, which generically turns out to be divergent in our theory, although the divergence vanishes in a certain gauge, while the scalar sector displays the corresponding <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><mi>C</mi><mi>P</mi><mi>T</mi></mrow></math>-odd single-derivative term proportional to the background vector. We further demonstrate that several of the Lorentz-violating corrections the three- and four-point function are ultraviolet finite. All one-loop divergences may be absorbed into counterterms already allowed by the classical Lagrangian, providing an explicit proof of the multiplicative renormalizability of the theory at this order. We also obtain the associated renormalization constants and one-loop <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>β</mi></math> functions for the gauge coupling, the Lorentz violation parameters, and the scalar self-interaction.

Perturbative analysis of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>C</mi><mi>P</mi><mi>T</mi></math>-odd Lorentz-violating scalar QCD

The LHCb Collaboration recently reported a measurement of the difference in direct <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>C</mi><mi>P</mi></math> asymmetries for the decays <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><msubsup><mrow><mi mathvariant="normal">Λ</mi></mrow><mrow><mi>b</mi></mrow><mrow><mn>0</mn></mrow></msubsup><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><mi>J</mi><mo>/</mo><mi>ψ</mi><mi>p</mi><msup><mrow><mi>h</mi></mrow><mrow><mo>−</mo></mrow></msup></mrow></math> (with <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><mi>h</mi><mo>=</mo><mi>K</mi></mrow></math>, <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><mi>π</mi></mrow></math>), offering new experimental constraints on the decay dynamics of heavy baryons into charmonium final states. Inspired by these findings, we explore the branching ratios and direct <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>C</mi><mi>P</mi></math> violations for the decays <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><msubsup><mrow><mi mathvariant="normal">Λ</mi></mrow><mrow><mi>b</mi></mrow><mrow><mn>0</mn></mrow></msubsup><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><msubsup><mrow><mi>P</mi></mrow><mrow><mi>c</mi></mrow><mrow><mo>+</mo></mrow></msubsup><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>4312</mn><mo>,</mo><mn>4440</mn><mo>,</mo><mn>4457</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo><msup><mrow><mi>h</mi></mrow><mrow><mo>−</mo></mrow></msup></mrow></math> within the framework of final-state rescattering. Our analysis indicates that the branching fractions for <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msubsup><mi mathvariant="normal">Λ</mi><mi>b</mi><mn>0</mn></msubsup><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><msubsup><mi>P</mi><mi>c</mi><mo>+</mo></msubsup><msup><mi>π</mi><mo>−</mo></msup></math> lie around the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mn>10</mn><mrow><mo>−</mo><mn>6</mn></mrow></msup></math> level, with the corresponding direct <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>C</mi><mi>P</mi></math> asymmetries approaching approximately 1%. In contrast, the direct <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>C</mi><mi>P</mi></math> violation for the decay <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msubsup><mi mathvariant="normal">Λ</mi><mi>b</mi><mn>0</mn></msubsup><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><msubsup><mi>P</mi><mi>c</mi><mo>+</mo></msubsup><msup><mi>K</mi><mo>−</mo></msup></math> is found to be very small, while its branching ratios show a strong dependence on the spin assignments of the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>P</mi><mi>c</mi></msub></math> states. These predictions may provide useful guidance for more precise <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>C</mi><mi>P</mi></math> measurements and amplitude analyses in the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>P</mi><mi>c</mi></msub></math> region in future experiments.

Using a sample of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mi>e</mi><mo>+</mo></msup><msup><mi>e</mi><mo>−</mo></msup></math> annihilation data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mn>4.4</mn><mtext> </mtext><mtext> </mtext><msup><mi>fb</mi><mrow><mo>−</mo><mn>1</mn></mrow></msup></math> collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider and produced at center-of-mass energies from 4600 to 4698 MeV, an amplitude analysis is performed of the singly Cabibbo-suppressed decay <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msubsup><mi mathvariant="normal">Λ</mi><mi>c</mi><mo>+</mo></msubsup><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><mi>p</mi><msup><mi>K</mi><mo>+</mo></msup><msup><mi>K</mi><mo>−</mo></msup></math>. At the same time, with the detection efficiency based on the results of the amplitude analysis, the branching fraction of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msubsup><mi mathvariant="normal">Λ</mi><mi>c</mi><mo>+</mo></msubsup><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><mi>p</mi><msup><mi>K</mi><mo>+</mo></msup><msup><mi>K</mi><mo>−</mo></msup></math> is updated to be <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>9.94</mn><mo>±</mo><mn>0.6</mn><msub><mn>5</mn><mrow><mi>stat</mi></mrow></msub><mo>±</mo><mn>0.5</mn><msub><mn>0</mn><mrow><mi>syst</mi></mrow></msub><mo stretchy="false">)</mo><mo>×</mo><msup><mn>10</mn><mrow><mo>−</mo><mn>4</mn></mrow></msup></math>, which is consistent with the current world average value within one standard deviation. The result supersedes the previous BESIII measurement with precision improved by approximately a factor of 1.5.
