The jet cross section and jet-substructure observables in <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>p</mi><mo>+</mo><mi>p</mi></math> collisions at <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msqrt><mi>s</mi></msqrt><mo>=</mo><mn>200</mn><mtext> </mtext><mtext> </mtext><mi>GeV</mi></math> were measured by the PHENIX Collaboration at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC). Jets are reconstructed from charged-particle tracks and electromagnetic-calorimeter clusters using the anti-<math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>k</mi><mi>t</mi></msub></math> algorithm with a jet radius of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>R</mi><mo>=</mo><mn>0.3</mn></math> for jets with transverse momentum within <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mn>8.0</mn><mo>&lt;</mo><msub><mi>p</mi><mi>T</mi></msub><mo>&lt;</mo><mn>40.0</mn><mtext> </mtext><mtext> </mtext><mi>GeV</mi><mo>/</mo><mi>c</mi></math> and pseudorapidity <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mo stretchy="false">|</mo><mi>η</mi><mo stretchy="false">|</mo><mo>&lt;</mo><mn>0.15</mn></math>. Measurements include the jet cross section, as well as distributions of SoftDrop-groomed momentum fraction (<math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>z</mi><mi>g</mi></msub></math>), charged-particle transverse momentum with respect to jet axis (<math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>j</mi><mi>T</mi></msub></math>), and radial distributions of charged particles within jets (<math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>r</mi></math>). Also measured was the distribution of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>ξ</mi><mo>=</mo><mo>−</mo><mi>ln</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mi>z</mi><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math>, where <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>z</mi></math> is the fraction of the jet momentum carried by the charged particle. The measurements are compared to theoretical next-to and next-to-next-to-leading-order calculations, the pythia and herwig event generators, and to other existing experimental results. Indicated from these measurements is a lower particle multiplicity in jets at RHIC energies when compared to models. Also noted are implications for future jet measurements with sPHENIX at RHIC as well as at the future Electron-Ion Collider.

Measurement of inclusive jet cross section and substructure in <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>p</mi><mo>+</mo><mi>p</mi></math> collisions at <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msqrt><mi>s</mi></msqrt><mo>=</mo><mn>200</mn><mtext> </mtext><mtext> </mtext><mi>GeV</mi></math>

In this Letter, we study the collinear limit of the energy-energy correlator in single-inclusive jet production in proton-proton and proton-nucleus collisions. We introduce a nonperturbative model that allows us to describe the energy-energy correlator in the entire angular region of the current experiments. Our results for proton-proton collisions show excellent agreement with CMS and ALICE data over a wide range of jet transverse momenta. For proton-nucleus collisions, we include modifications from the nuclear medium, and our predictions align well with the trends observed in recent ALICE measurements.

Energy-Energy Correlator for Jet Production in <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>p</mi><mi>p</mi></math> and <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>p</mi><mi>A</mi></math> Collisions

Motivated by the recent observation of the $$J^P = 1^+$$ resonance $\textit{X}$(2085) in the $$p\bar{\Lambda }$$ system by the BESIII collaboration, we study the molecular states of $$p\bar{\Lambda }$$ and $$p\bar{\Sigma }$$ with baryon-antibaryon structures within the framework of the QCD sum rules. Non-perturbative contributions up to dimension 13 in quark operator expansion (OPE) are considered. Our calculation results indicate the possible existence of six $$p\bar{\Lambda }$$ and $$p\bar{\Sigma }$$ molecular states with quantum numbers $$J^{P}=0^{-}, 0^{+}, 1^{-}$$ , which do not support $\textit{X}$(2085), or at least not its main component, being a $$p\bar{\Lambda }$$ or $$p\bar{\Sigma }$$ molecular state. Additionally, the previously observed state $\textit{X}$(2075) also lies in the vicinity of $$p\bar{\Lambda }$$ and $$p\bar{\Sigma }$$ molecular states, and its inner structure might not be entirely transparent, rather possibly a mixture of tetraquark and hexaquark states. The possible decay modes of the concerned states are analyzed.

The spectra of $$p\bar{\Lambda }$$ and $$p\bar{\Sigma }$$ hexaquark states

A precise determination of the CKM angle $\textit{γ}$ from $$ {B}_s^0 $$ oscillations in $$ {B}_s^0\to {D}_s^{\mp }{K}^{\pm } $$ decays offers a critical test of the Standard Model and probes for new physics. We present a comprehensive study on the prospects of measuring $\textit{γ}$ at a future Tera-$\textit{Z}$ factory, utilizing the baseline detector concept of the Circular Electron Positron Collider (CEPC). A two-dimensional simultaneous fit framework, incorporating flavor tagging, decay time resolution modeling, and acceptance corrections, is developed using full Monte Carlo simulations of $$ {B}_s^0\to {D}_s^{\mp}\left(\to {K}^{\mp }{K}^{\pm }{\pi}^{\mp}\right){K}^{\pm } $$ decays and inclusive background processes. The effective flavor tagging power reaches 23.6%, while the decay time resolution is determined to be 26 fs. Projecting to full statistics of signal events across three dominant $$ {D}_s^{-} $$ decay channels, we estimate a statistical precision of $\textit{σ}$($\textit{γ}$) = 0$\textit{.}$69 , which corresponds to 4.1 Tera-$\textit{Z}$ boson equivalent data. This study has established the feasibility of sub-degree level $\textit{γ}$ measurements at a $\textit{Z}$ factory, highlighting its unique advantages in time-dependent $\textit{CP}$ violation studies through ultra-precise vertexing and background suppression capabilities.

Prospect for measurement of $\textit{CP}$-violating observables in $$ {B}_s^0\to {D}_s^{\mp }{K}^{\pm } $$ decays at a future $\textit{Z}$ factory

We have addressed here the problem of calculating the correlation function of a stable particle with a resonance, in particular one resonance that qualifies as a molecular state of two components. The formalism used requires us to evaluate the scattering matrix of the stable particle with the molecule, a nuclear problem which we address by means of the fixed center approximation. We have applied the method to the interaction of a proton with the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>f</mi><mn>1</mn></msub><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>1285</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> resonance, presently under investigation by the ALICE collaboration, where the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>f</mi><mn>1</mn></msub><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>1285</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> is taken as a <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mi>K</mi><mo>*</mo></msup><mover accent="true"><mi>K</mi><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mover><mo>−</mo><msup><mover accent="true"><mi>K</mi><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mover><mo>*</mo></msup><mi>K</mi></math> molecule. We find that the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>p</mi><msub><mi>f</mi><mn>1</mn></msub><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>1285</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> interaction develops a resonance state below the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>p</mi><msub><mi>f</mi><mn>1</mn></msub><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>1285</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> threshold, which leads to a depletion in the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>p</mi><msub><mi>f</mi><mn>1</mn></msub><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>1285</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> correlation function for small values of the proton momentum. The discussion presented shows that these type of studies can provide much information on the nature of some resonances and the existence of three-body bound states involving mesons and baryons.

The dipionic transition of the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>X</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>3872</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> to the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>η</mi><mi>c</mi></msub></math> was investigated using an effective Lagrangian approach. In this study, the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>X</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>3872</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> was assumed to be a <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>D</mi><msup><mover accent="true"><mi>D</mi><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mover><mo>*</mo></msup><mo>+</mo><mi mathvariant="normal">c</mi><mo>.</mo><mi mathvariant="normal">c</mi><mo>.</mo></math> bound state with the quantum numbers <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mi>J</mi><mrow><mi>P</mi><mi>C</mi></mrow></msup><mo>=</mo><msup><mn>1</mn><mrow><mo>+</mo><mo>+</mo></mrow></msup></math> and to decay via triangle and box loops. It is found that the partial decay widths arising from the box loops are one order of magnitude greater than those from the triangle ones. The decay widths are model-dependent, as characterized by the cutoff parameter introduced in the form factor. Moreover, the charged and neutral <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>D</mi><msup><mover accent="true"><mi>D</mi><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mover><mo>*</mo></msup></math> configurations of the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>X</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>3872</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> and its mass also influence the decay widths. With our model parameters, the decay widths for the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>X</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>3872</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><msup><mi>π</mi><mo>+</mo></msup><msup><mi>π</mi><mo>−</mo></msup><msub><mi>η</mi><mi>c</mi></msub></math> can reach up to several tens of keV. We hope that the current calculations within the molecular interpretation will be helpful for the future experiments.

We discuss radiative transitions <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>D</mi><mrow><mi>s</mi><mn>1</mn></mrow></msub><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><msub><mi>D</mi><mi>s</mi></msub><mi>γ</mi></math> and <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>D</mi><mrow><mi>s</mi><mn>1</mn></mrow></msub><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><msubsup><mi>D</mi><mi>s</mi><mo>*</mo></msubsup><mi>γ</mi></math> of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>p</mi></math>-wave mesons. Since <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>D</mi><mrow><mi>s</mi><mn>1</mn></mrow></msub></math> mesons have no certain <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>C</mi></math>-parity, and the masses of quarks in these mesons differ significantly, then due to the spin-orbit interaction, each of the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>p</mi></math>-wave mesons with the total angular momentum <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>J</mi><mo>=</mo><mn>1</mn></math> is a superposition of states with the total spin of quarks <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>S</mi><mi>tot</mi></msub><mo>=</mo><mn>0</mn></math> and <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>S</mi><mi>tot</mi></msub><mo>=</mo><mn>1</mn></math>. We explain why the partial width of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>D</mi><mrow><mi>s</mi><mn>1</mn></mrow></msub><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>2460</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><msub><mi>D</mi><mi>s</mi></msub><mi>γ</mi></math> radiative transition is significantly larger than the corresponding value for <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>D</mi><mrow><mi>s</mi><mn>1</mn></mrow></msub><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>2536</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><msub><mi>D</mi><mi>s</mi></msub><mi>γ</mi></math>. We also predict the corresponding partial widths of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>B</mi><mrow><mi>s</mi><mn>1</mn></mrow></msub></math> and <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>B</mi><mrow><mi>c</mi><mn>1</mn></mrow></msub></math>.

Phenomenology of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><msub><mrow><mi>D</mi></mrow><mrow><mi>s</mi><mn>1</mn></mrow></msub></mrow></math> mesons radiative transitions

We study the modifications to decay amplitudes in heavy to heavy semileptonic decays with multiple hadrons in the final state due to intermediate heavy hadrons being off-shell or having a finite width. Combining Heavy Hadron Chiral Perturbation Theory (HH$\textit{χ}$PT) with a BCFW on-shell factorization formula, we show that these effects induce $$ \mathcal{O} $$ (1/$\textit{M}$) corrections to the standard results computed in the narrow-width approximation and therefore are important in extracting form factors from data. A combination of perturbative unitarity, analyticity, and reparameterization invariance fully determine these corrections in terms of known Isgur-Wise functions without the need to introduce new form factors. In doing so, we develop a novel technique to compute the boundary term at complex infinity in the BCFW formula for theories with derivatively coupled scalars. While we have used the $$ \overline{B} $$ → $\textit{Dπℓν}$ decay as an example, these techniques can generally be applied to effective field theories with (multiple) distinct reference vectors.

Off-shell vertices in heavy particle effective theories and B $\textit{→}$ D$\textit{πℓν}$

Using the harmonic superspace approach, we perform a comprehensive study of the structure of divergences in the higher-derivative <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mn>6</mn><mi>D</mi></math>, <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi mathvariant="script">N</mi><mo>=</mo><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>1</mn><mo>,</mo><mn>0</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory coupled to the hypermultiplet in the adjoint representation. The effective action is constructed in the framework of the superfield background field method with the help of the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi mathvariant="script">N</mi><mo>=</mo><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>1</mn><mo>,</mo><mn>0</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> supersymmetric higher-derivative regularization scheme which preserves all symmetries of the theory. The one-loop divergences are calculated in a manifestly gauge invariant and <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mn>6</mn><mi>D</mi></math>, <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi mathvariant="script">N</mi><mo>=</mo><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>1</mn><mo>,</mo><mn>0</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> supersymmetric form, hopefully admitting a generalization to higher loops. The <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>β</mi></math> function in the one-loop approximation is found and analyzed. In particular, it is shown that the one-loop <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>β</mi></math> function for an arbitrary regulator function is specified by integrals of double total derivatives in momentum space, like it happens in <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mn>4</mn><mi>D</mi></math>, <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi mathvariant="script">N</mi><mo>=</mo><mn>1</mn></math> superfield gauge theories. This points to the potential possibility to derive the all-loop Novikov-Shifman-Vainshtein-Zakharov-like exact <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>β</mi></math> function in the considered theory.

Structure of divergences in the higher-derivative supersymmetric <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><mn>6</mn><mi>D</mi></mrow></math> gauge theory

We compute scalar static response coefficients (Love numbers) of non-dilatonic black $\textit{p}$-brane solutions in higher dimensional supergravity. This calculation reveals a fine-tuning behavior similar to that of higher dimensional black holes, which we explain by “hidden” near-zone Love symmetries. In general, these symmetries act on equations for perturbations but they are not background isometries. The Love symmetry of charged $\textit{p}$ = 0 branes is described by the usual SL(2, $\textit{ℝ}$) algebra. For $\textit{p}$ = 1 the Love symmetry has an algebraic structure SL(2, $\textit{ℝ}$) × SL(2, $\textit{ℝ}$). The $\textit{p}$ = 0, 1 Love symmetries reduce to isometries of the near-horizon Schwarzschild-AdS metric in the near-extremal finite temperature limit. They further reduce to the AdS isometries in the extremal zero-temperature limit. We call this process geometrization. In contrast, for the $\textit{p}$ > 1 cases, the Love symmetry is always an SL(2, $\textit{ℝ}$), and there is no limit in which it becomes geometric. We interpret geometrization and its absence as a consequence of the local equivalence between the Schwarzschild-AdS and pure AdS spaces for $\textit{p}$ = 0, 1, which does not hold for $\textit{p}$ > 1. We also show that the static Love numbers of extremal $\textit{p}$-branes are always zero regardless of spacetime dimensionality, which contrasts starkly with the non-extremal case. Overall, our results suggest that the Love symmetry is hidden by nature, and it can acquire a geometric meaning only if the background has an AdS or AdS limit.
