We constructed a four-Higgs-doublet model (4HDM) invariant under $\textit{D}$ $_{5}$ symmetry and investigated its complete neutral vacuum structure in detail. Assuming explicit CP conservation in the scalar potential, we examined whether CP symmetry can be spontaneously broken. We provided a complete list of all possible real and complex vacua, along with the constraints on the potential parameters required for each vacuum solution to exist. We also discussed the positive-definiteness conditions that the Hessian must satisfy for each vacuum to be a local minimum of the potential. The results show that, after spontaneous symmetry breaking, some complex vacua lead to spontaneous CP violation in the potential, whereas the remaining complex vacua still preserve CP conservation. Among these CP-violating complex vacua, one can be regarded as the most general form. Furthermore, we discussed the relationship between real and complex vacua.

In the present work, the strong decays of the discovered $ P_c(4380) $ , $ P_c(4440) $ , $ P_c(4457) $ and their possible isospin cousins are systematically studied via the assignment that they are meson-baryon molecular states. In detail, the strong decay constants and partial decay widths of their decay channels are calculated under the framework of QCD sum rules. The decay widths of the discovered $ P_c(4380) $ , $ P_c(4440) $ , and $ P_c(4457) $ are in good agreement with the experiments. The predictions of the decays of these three related possible isospin cousins are presented, which would shed light on their findings in experiments. In return, this may testify to the assignments of the discovered $ P_c $ states.

The exploration of symmetry laws stands as a cutting-edge direction in modern physics research. This study delves into the examination of $\textit{P}$ and $\rm CP$ symmetry properties within the charm quark system by analyzing asymmetry parameters in the two-body decay process of $ \Omega_c $ . By accounting for the polarization effects of electron and positron beams and employing the helicity formalism, we systematically analyze the decay characteristics of $ \Omega_c $ and its subsequent hyperon decays through specific asymmetry parameters. A comprehensive formulation of the angular distribution for these decay processes has been developed. The research assesses the detection sensitivity of asymmetry parameters in the $ \Omega_c\rightarrow \Omega^-\pi^+ $ decay mode across different experimental conditions, including varying data sample sizes and beam polarization configurations. These results contribute to enriching a theoretical foundation for forthcoming experimental endeavors at the STCF, offering significant implications for symmetry studies in the charm sector.

Phenomenological study of Ω $\textit{c}$ → Ω$^{−}$ $\textit{π}$ $^{+}$ at polarized electron-positron collider

Hadron-hadron interactions, being nonperturbative in nature, play a significant role in addressing phenomenological questions in particle physics. Femtoscopy is a powerful tool in heavy-ion collision experiments, enabling the extraction of hadron-hadron interactions via momentum-correlation functions (CFs). These CFs are typically expressed as a convolution of source functions and hadron-hadron wave functions, with the latter encoding information about the interactions. However, source functions remain poorly constrained and are commonly approximated by a Gaussian form. Reconstructing source functions from experimental correlation data constitutes an 'inverse problem.' To address this, we propose a toy model based on Tikhonov regularization. Using a square-well potential with four distinct strengths, we calculate the CFs for inputs of single Gaussian source functions and mixed Gaussian source functions. The resulting CFs are then used to reconstruct the source functions via Tikhonov regularization. Our results show that the Gaussian source function can be successfully reconstructed, highlighting the potential of this approach for extracting realistic source functions from hadron pairs of interest.

Unsupervised learning has been widely applied to various tasks in particle physics. However, existing models lack precise control over their learned representations, limiting physical interpretability and hindering their use for accurate measurements. We propose the histogram autoencoder (HistoAE), an unsupervised representation learning network featuring a custom histogram-based loss that enforces a physically structured latent space. Applied to silicon microstrip detectors, HistoAE learns an interpretable two-dimensional latent space corresponding to the particle’s charge and impact position. After simple postprocessing, it achieves a charge resolution of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mn>0.25</mn><mi>e</mi></math> and a position resolution of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mn>3</mn><mtext> </mtext><mtext> </mtext><mi mathvariant="normal">μ</mi><mrow><mi mathvariant="normal">m</mi></mrow></math> on beam-test data, comparable to the conventional approach. These results demonstrate that unsupervised deep learning models can enable physically meaningful and quantitatively precise measurements. Moreover, the generative capacity of HistoAE enables straightforward extensions to fast detector simulations.

Interpretable unsupervised representation learning for high-precision measurements in particle physics

We study the Hamiltonian truncation for the two-dimensional <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><mi>λ</mi><msup><mrow><mi>ϕ</mi></mrow><mrow><mn>4</mn></mrow></msup></mrow></math> theory within the framework of Hamiltonian truncation effective theory, where truncation artifacts are mitigated through a systematic inclusion of corrective terms organized in inverse powers of the ultraviolet energy cutoff <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>E</mi><mi>max</mi></msub></math>. Building on the leading-order matching program, we develop two complementary extensions. First, we derive compact all-order expressions for the local matching corrections to the mass and quartic coupling by resumming infinite classes of diagrams sharing fixed topologies within the local approximation. Second, we extend the nonlocal sector by computing the next-to-next-to-local corrections contributing at <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi mathvariant="script">O</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><msubsup><mi>E</mi><mi>max</mi><mrow><mo>−</mo><mn>4</mn></mrow></msubsup><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math>, following a continuum-first matching procedure, in which the effective corrections are computed in infinite volume and the spatial direction is subsequently recompactified to obtain a discrete basis of free-Hamiltonian eigenstates on which the truncated operator construction is implemented. Our results show that an increasingly rich operator basis is necessary to describe the theory beyond leading order.

The full set of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>C</mi><mi>P</mi></math>-averaged and <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>C</mi><mi>P</mi></math>-asymmetric angular observables is determined in bins of the invariant mass squared of the dimuon system, as well as the branching fraction relative to the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><msup><mrow><mi>B</mi></mrow><mrow><mn>0</mn></mrow></msup><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><mrow><mi>J</mi><mo>/</mo><mi>ψ</mi></mrow><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><msup><mrow><mi>μ</mi></mrow><mrow><mo>+</mo></mrow></msup><msup><mrow><mi>μ</mi></mrow><mrow><mo>−</mo></mrow></msup><mo stretchy="false">)</mo><msup><mrow><mi>K</mi></mrow><mrow><mo>+</mo></mrow></msup><msup><mrow><mi>π</mi></mrow><mrow><mo>−</mo></mrow></msup></mrow></math> decay. For the first time, the full set of observables pertaining to the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mi>K</mi><mo>+</mo></msup><msup><mi>π</mi><mo>−</mo></msup></math> S-wave contribution to the final state are presented and consideration is given to effects arising from the mass of the muons. The extracted <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>C</mi><mi>P</mi></math>-asymmetry observables show no significant deviations from zero. The measurements of the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>C</mi><mi>P</mi></math>-averaged observables and the branching fractions continue to exhibit the pattern of tensions with the standard model predictions that have been seen in previous analyses that use part of the dataset considered in this Letter.

The first observation of the doubly charmed baryon <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msubsup><mi mathvariant="normal">Ξ</mi><mrow><mi>c</mi><mi>c</mi></mrow><mo>+</mo></msubsup></math> is reported through its decay to the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><msubsup><mrow><mi mathvariant="normal">Λ</mi></mrow><mrow><mi>c</mi></mrow><mrow><mo>+</mo></mrow></msubsup><msup><mrow><mi>K</mi></mrow><mrow><mo>−</mo></mrow></msup><msup><mrow><mi>π</mi></mrow><mrow><mo>+</mo></mrow></msup></mrow></math> final state, with a statistical significance exceeding seven standard deviations. The observation is made using proton-proton collision data collected in 2024 with the LHCb Run 3 detector at a center-of-mass energy of 13.6 TeV, corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mn>6.9</mn><mtext> </mtext><mtext> </mtext><msup><mi>fb</mi><mrow><mo>−</mo><mn>1</mn></mrow></msup></math>. The <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msubsup><mi mathvariant="normal">Ξ</mi><mrow><mi>c</mi><mi>c</mi></mrow><mo>+</mo></msubsup></math> mass is measured to be <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><mn>3619.97</mn><mo>±</mo><mn>0.83</mn><mo>±</mo><msubsup><mrow><mn>0.26</mn></mrow><mrow><mo>−</mo><mn>1.30</mn></mrow><mrow><mo>+</mo><mn>1.90</mn></mrow></msubsup><mtext> </mtext><mtext> </mtext><mrow><mi>MeV</mi><mo>/</mo><msup><mrow><mi>c</mi></mrow><mrow><mn>2</mn></mrow></msup></mrow></mrow></math>, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic, and the third is due to the unknown <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msubsup><mi mathvariant="normal">Ξ</mi><mrow><mi>c</mi><mi>c</mi></mrow><mo>+</mo></msubsup></math> lifetime, which is assumed to lie in the range 15–160 fs with a baseline value of 45 fs. The difference between the masses of the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msubsup><mi mathvariant="normal">Ξ</mi><mrow><mi>c</mi><mi>c</mi></mrow><mo>+</mo></msubsup></math> and <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msubsup><mi mathvariant="normal">Ξ</mi><mrow><mi>c</mi><mi>c</mi></mrow><mrow><mo>+</mo><mo>+</mo></mrow></msubsup></math> baryons is determined to be <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><mo>−</mo><mn>1.77</mn><mo>±</mo><mn>0.84</mn><mo>±</mo><msubsup><mrow><mn>0.15</mn></mrow><mrow><mo>−</mo><mn>1.30</mn></mrow><mrow><mo>+</mo><mn>1.90</mn></mrow></msubsup><mtext> </mtext><mtext> </mtext><mi>MeV</mi><mo>/</mo><msup><mrow><mi>c</mi></mrow><mrow><mn>2</mn></mrow></msup></mrow></math>. This is the first observation of a new particle made with the LHCb Run 3 detector.

Tree-level lepton-flavor violating decays induced by Lorentz-violating effects within the Yukawa sector of the standard model extension are studied. These new-physics effects are parametrized by the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><msub><mi>Y</mi><mi>f</mi></msub><msubsup><mo stretchy="false">)</mo><mrow><mi>μ</mi><mi>ν</mi></mrow><mrow><mi>A</mi><mi>B</mi></mrow></msubsup></math> tensor, with <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>μ</mi></math> and <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>ν</mi></math> denoting Lorentz indices and <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>A</mi></math>, <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>B</mi></math> being indices in the flavor space. Since this tensor is antisymmetric under the interchange of Lorentz indices, in analogy with the electromagnetic tensor <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>F</mi><mrow><mi>μ</mi><mi>ν</mi></mrow></msub></math>, <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><msub><mi>Y</mi><mi>f</mi></msub><msubsup><mo stretchy="false">)</mo><mrow><mi>μ</mi><mi>ν</mi></mrow><mrow><mi>A</mi><mi>B</mi></mrow></msubsup></math> can be expressed in terms of six components associated with two complex three-vectors denoted by <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msubsup><mi mathvariant="bold">e</mi><mi>l</mi><mrow><mi>A</mi><mi>B</mi></mrow></msubsup></math> and <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msubsup><mi mathvariant="bold">b</mi><mi>l</mi><mrow><mi>A</mi><mi>B</mi></mrow></msubsup></math>.
