In the present work, we perform a combined analysis of the cross sections for $$e^+ e^- \rightarrow K^+ K^-$$ and $$e^+ e^- \rightarrow K_S^0 K_L^0$$ by including the interference between direct coupling process and resonance intermediate process. When setting the isospin factor as a free parameter, we can well reproduce the structures in the cross sections for $$e^+ e^- \rightarrow K^+ K^-$$ and $$e^+ e^- \rightarrow K_S^0 K_L^0,$$ however, the isospin factor deviates with the isospin symmetry conservation predicted value of one. By fixing the isospin factor to be one, we find the cross sections for $$e^+ e^-\rightarrow K^+ K^-$$ can be accurately fitted, while the same model parameters fail to adequately reproduce the observed cross section for the process $$e^+ e^- \rightarrow K_S^0 K_L^0,$$ which indicate that there should be contributions from other vector meson states, such as $$\rho (2150)$$ and $$\omega (2220).$$ The combined analysis with $$\phi (2170),$$ $$\omega (2220)$$ and $$\rho (2150)$$ indicate that the inclusion of $$\rho (2150)$$ can improve the descriptions of the cross sections for $$e^+ e^-\rightarrow K^+ K^-$$ and $$e^+ e^- \rightarrow K_S^0 K_L^0.$$

A combined analysis of $\textit{Y}$(2240) in the $$e^+ e^- \rightarrow K^+ K^-$$ and $$e^+ e^- \rightarrow K_S^0 K_L^0$$ processes

The proposed <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mi>e</mi><mo>+</mo></msup><msup><mi>e</mi><mo>−</mo></msup></math> collider offers an ideal environment for precise estimation of Higgs boson properties which are of utmost importance to validate the Standard Model of particle physics. We investigate <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>h</mi><mi>V</mi><mi>V</mi></math> couplings, where <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>V</mi><mo>∈</mo><mo stretchy="false">{</mo><mi>Z</mi><mo>,</mo><mi>γ</mi><mo stretchy="false">}</mo></math> with single Higgs production associated with <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>Z</mi></math> boson at the proposed <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mi>e</mi><mo>+</mo></msup><msup><mi>e</mi><mo>−</mo></msup></math> machine with <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msqrt><mi>s</mi></msqrt><mo>=</mo><mn>250</mn><mtext> </mtext><mtext> </mtext><mi>GeV</mi></math>, within the Standard Model effective field theory framework. We employ the recoil mass of the dilepton system, to select the signal phase space, i.e, <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>Z</mi><mi>h</mi><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><msup><mi>l</mi><mo>+</mo></msup><msup><mi>l</mi><mo>−</mo></msup><mi>b</mi><mover accent="true"><mi>b</mi><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mover></math> events. The constraints on the Wilson coefficients (WCs) are obtained using the optimal observable technique. On comparison with the current experimental limits at 68% CL with <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mn>138</mn><mtext> </mtext><mtext> </mtext><msup><mi>fb</mi><mrow><mo>−</mo><mn>1</mn></mrow></msup></math> luminosity, our limits are tighter by a factor ranging from 1.5–10 for <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><mi>C</mi><mi>P</mi></mrow></math>-even operators, while <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><mi>C</mi><mi>P</mi></mrow></math>-odd WCs shows comparable limits.

Optimal estimation of Higgs-gauge boson couplings at the future <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mi>e</mi><mo>+</mo></msup><msup><mi>e</mi><mo>−</mo></msup></math> colliders

The proposed Large Hadron electron Collider (LHeC), with a center-of-mass energy of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msqrt><mi>s</mi></msqrt><mo>≈</mo><mn>1.3</mn><mtext> </mtext><mtext> </mtext><mi>TeV</mi></math>, provides a clean and sensitive environment to probe the top quark’s neutral current interactions with the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>Z</mi></math> boson via <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mi>e</mi><mo>−</mo></msup><mi>p</mi><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><msup><mi>e</mi><mo>−</mo></msup><mi>t</mi><mover accent="true"><mi>t</mi><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mover></math>. We investigate the precision with which the Standard Model (SM) <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>t</mi><mover accent="true"><mi>t</mi><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mover><mi>Z</mi></math> couplings—the vector and axial-vector components (<math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi mathvariant="normal">Δ</mi><msub><mi>C</mi><mrow><mn>1</mn><mi>V</mi></mrow></msub><mo>,</mo><mi mathvariant="normal">Δ</mi><msub><mi>C</mi><mrow><mn>1</mn><mi>A</mi></mrow></msub></math>) can be measured, along with possible new physics effects parametrized by higher-dimensional operators inducing weak electric and magnetic dipolelike interactions (<math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>C</mi><mrow><mn>2</mn><mi>V</mi></mrow></msub><mo>,</mo><msub><mi>C</mi><mrow><mn>2</mn><mi>A</mi></mrow></msub></math>). Focusing on the semileptonic decay channel, where either the top quark decays leptonically to a positively charged lepton (<math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mo>ℓ</mo><mo>+</mo></msup><mo>=</mo><msup><mi>e</mi><mo>+</mo></msup><mo>,</mo><msup><mi>μ</mi><mo>+</mo></msup></math>) and the antitop hadronically, or vice versa, we utilize the azimuthal angle difference <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi mathvariant="normal">Δ</mi><msub><mi>ϕ</mi><mrow><msup><mi>e</mi><mo>−</mo></msup><msup><mo>ℓ</mo><mo>±</mo></msup></mrow></msub></math> between the scattered electron and the charged lepton <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mo>ℓ</mo><mo>±</mo></msup></math> as the key observable to derive projected constraints. These results correspond to average relative precisions of approximately 8% and 68%, respectively, with respect to their SM values. The anomalous tensor couplings <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>C</mi><mrow><mn>2</mn><mi>V</mi></mrow></msub></math> and <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>C</mi><mrow><mn>2</mn><mi>A</mi></mrow></msub></math> are constrained at the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi mathvariant="script">O</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><msup><mn>10</mn><mrow><mo>−</mo><mn>1</mn></mrow></msup><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> level even at low luminosity and improve moderately with increasing luminosity. While the two-parameter analysis broadens the allowed regions due to parameter correlations, it maintains competitive sensitivity, particularly for the SM-like couplings. Throughout, we assume a systematic uncertainty of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>δ</mi><mi>s</mi></msub><mo>=</mo><mn>5</mn><mo>%</mo></math> in all analyses, and all results are quoted at the 95% confidence level. These results demonstrate the LHeC’s potential to provide complementary and competitive sensitivity to top-<math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>Z</mi></math> couplings compared to current and future hadron and lepton collider capabilities.

Analyzing <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>t</mi><mover accent="true"><mi>t</mi><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mover><mi>Z</mi></math>-couplings at the future <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mi>e</mi><mo>−</mo></msup><mi>p</mi></math> collider

We perform the first computation of phase-transition parameters to cubic order in $ \lambda\sim m^2/T^2 $ , where $\textit{m}$ is the scalar mass and $\textit{T}$ is the temperature, in a simple model resembling the Higgs sector of the SMEFT. We use dimensional reduction, including 1-loop matching corrections for terms of dimension 6 (in 4-dimensional units), 2-loop contributions for dimension-4 ones and 3-loops for the squared mass. We precisely quantify the size of the different corrections, including renormalization-group running as well as quantum effects from light fields in the effective theory provided by the Coleman-Weinberg potential, and discuss briefly the implications for gravitational waves. Our results suggest that, for strong phase transitions, 1-loop corrections from dimension-6 operators can compete with 2-loop ones from quartic couplings and largely surpass those from 3-loop thermal masses.

As no signals are observed for all the above channels, the upper limits on their Born cross sections at the 90% confidence level are reported. The obtained upper limits of cross sections for <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mi>e</mi><mo>+</mo></msup><msup><mi>e</mi><mo>−</mo></msup><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><msub><mi mathvariant="normal">Σ</mi><mi>c</mi></msub><msub><mover accent="true"><mi mathvariant="normal">Σ</mi><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mover><mi>c</mi></msub></math> are more than 2 orders of magnitude smaller than those for <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mi>e</mi><mo>+</mo></msup><msup><mi>e</mi><mo>−</mo></msup><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><msubsup><mi mathvariant="normal">Λ</mi><mi>c</mi><mo>+</mo></msubsup><msubsup><mover accent="true"><mi mathvariant="normal">Λ</mi><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mover><mi>c</mi><mo>−</mo></msubsup></math> near the threshold. In contrast, such suppression is absent in hyperon pair production (<math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mi>e</mi><mo>+</mo></msup><msup><mi>e</mi><mo>−</mo></msup><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><mi mathvariant="normal">Λ</mi><mover accent="true"><mi mathvariant="normal">Λ</mi><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mover></math> and <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi mathvariant="normal">Σ</mi><mover accent="true"><mi mathvariant="normal">Σ</mi><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mover></math>), suggesting distinct underlying dynamics in charmed baryon production.

In this paper we carefully assess the theory prediction for <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>R</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mi>s</mi><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> below charm threshold, <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>R</mi><mrow><mi>u</mi><mi>d</mi><mi>s</mi></mrow></msub></math>, and address tensions with the existing data, notably with the 2021 BES-III results. We analyze the uncertainty of the perturbative quantum chromodynamics description in the light of renormalons making use of the large-<math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>β</mi><mn>0</mn></msub></math> limit and the renormalon-free gluon-condensate scheme. We provide a reliable estimate of the duality violation contributions; we show they are sizable up to 2.5 GeV and improve the agreement between theory and data, but are negligible for higher energies. We then combine the available experimental data for <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>R</mi><mrow><mi>u</mi><mi>d</mi><mi>s</mi></mrow></msub></math> and find the datasets to be mutually compatible. Finally, we compare theory and data, both locally and in their contributions to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon. Theory is compatible with the combined data but discrepancies with the BES-III data reach more than <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><mn>3</mn><mi>σ</mi></mrow></math>.

The recent observation of multiple near-threshold structures in <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mi>e</mi><mo>+</mo></msup><msup><mi>e</mi><mo>−</mo></msup></math> annihilation—including <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>ψ</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>3770</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math>, <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>G</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>3900</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math>, <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>R</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>3760</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math>, <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>R</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>3780</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math>, and <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>R</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>3810</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math>—reveals limitations in existing models of charmonium and exotic hadrons. In this paper, we propose a unified coupled-channel description that simultaneously incorporates all five near-threshold structures using parameters constrained by hadron spectroscopy. Our model accurately reproduces the line shapes in both <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>D</mi><mover accent="true"><mi>D</mi><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mover></math> and nonopen-charm hadron (nOCH) channels, resolves the asymmetric profile of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>ψ</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>3770</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math>, and produces the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>G</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>3900</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> bump. We identify the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>R</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>3780</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> as the dominant manifestation of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>ψ</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>3770</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math>, attribute <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>R</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>3760</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> to <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>D</mi><mover accent="true"><mi>D</mi><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mover><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><mtext>nOCH</mtext></math> rescattering and suggest that <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>R</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>3810</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> arises from coupling between the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>ψ</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>1</mn><mi>D</mi><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> state and the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>h</mi><mi>c</mi></msub><mi>π</mi><mi>π</mi></math> channel. The significant non-<math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>D</mi><mover accent="true"><mi>D</mi><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mover></math> decay of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>ψ</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>3770</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> is explained by its near-threshold position. This analysis provides a coherent, unquenched framework centered on a charmonium <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>ψ</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>1</mn><mi>D</mi><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> core for near-threshold phenomena and offers a predictive approach extendable to bottomonium systems and future data from Belle II.

Based on <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><mn>12.0</mn><mtext> </mtext><mtext> </mtext><msup><mi>fb</mi><mrow><mo>−</mo><mn>1</mn></mrow></msup></mrow></math> of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mi>e</mi><mo>+</mo></msup><msup><mi>e</mi><mo>−</mo></msup></math> collision data samples collected by the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies from 4.1271 to 4.3583 GeV, a partial wave analysis is performed for the process <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mi>e</mi><mo>+</mo></msup><msup><mi>e</mi><mo>−</mo></msup><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><msup><mi>π</mi><mo>+</mo></msup><msup><mi>π</mi><mo>−</mo></msup><mi>J</mi><mo>/</mo><mi>ψ</mi></math>. The mass and width of the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>Z</mi><mi>c</mi></msub><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>3900</mn><msup><mo stretchy="false">)</mo><mo>±</mo></msup></math> are determined to be <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mn>3884.6</mn><mo>±</mo><mn>0.7</mn><mo>±</mo><mn>3.3</mn><mtext> </mtext><mtext> </mtext><mi>MeV</mi><mo>/</mo><msup><mi>c</mi><mn>2</mn></msup></math> and <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mn>37.2</mn><mo>±</mo><mn>1.3</mn><mo>±</mo><mn>6.6</mn><mtext> </mtext><mtext> </mtext><mi>MeV</mi></math>, respectively. The first errors are statistical and the second systematic. The final state <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><msup><mi>π</mi><mo>+</mo></msup><msup><mi>π</mi><mo>−</mo></msup><msub><mo stretchy="false">)</mo><mrow><mi mathvariant="normal">S</mi><mtext>−</mtext><mrow><mi>wave</mi></mrow></mrow></msub><mi>J</mi><mo>/</mo><mi>ψ</mi></math> dominates the process <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mi>e</mi><mo>+</mo></msup><msup><mi>e</mi><mo>−</mo></msup><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><msup><mi>π</mi><mo>+</mo></msup><msup><mi>π</mi><mo>−</mo></msup><mi>J</mi><mo>/</mo><mi>ψ</mi></math>. By analyzing the cross sections of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mi>π</mi><mo>±</mo></msup><msub><mi>Z</mi><mi>c</mi></msub><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>3900</mn><msup><mo stretchy="false">)</mo><mo>∓</mo></msup></math> and <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>f</mi><mn>0</mn></msub><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>980</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo><mi>J</mi><mo>/</mo><mi>ψ</mi></math>, <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>Y</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>4220</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> has been observed. Its mass and width are determined to be <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mn>4225.7</mn><mo>±</mo><mn>4.1</mn><mo>±</mo><mn>3.4</mn><mtext> </mtext><mtext> </mtext><mi>MeV</mi><mo>/</mo><msup><mi>c</mi><mn>2</mn></msup></math> and <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mn>57.5</mn><mo>±</mo><mn>9.4</mn><mo>±</mo><mn>12.1</mn><mtext> </mtext><mtext> </mtext><mi>MeV</mi></math>, respectively.

Using $\textit{e}$ $\textit{e}$ collision data corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 20 fb collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, we present a measurement of the Born cross section for the process $$ {e}^{+}{e}^{-}\to p{K}^{-}{K}^{-}{\overline{\Xi}}^{+} $$ at 39 center-of-mass energies between 3.5 and 4.9 GeV with a partial reconstruction technique. By performing a fit to the dressed cross section of $$ {e}^{+}{e}^{-}\to p{K}^{-}{K}^{-}{\overline{\Xi}}^{+} $$ with a power law function for continuum production and one resonance at a time for the $\textit{ψ}$(3770), $\textit{ψ}$(4040), $\textit{ψ}$(4160), $\textit{ψ}$(4230), $\textit{ψ}$(4360), $\textit{ψ}$(4415) or $\textit{ψ}$(4660), respectively, the upper limits for the product of partial electronic width and branching fraction into the final state $$ p{K}^{-}{K}^{-}{\overline{\Xi}}^{+} $$ for these resonances are determined at the 90% confidence level.
