We propose a simple model to obtain a sizable muon anomalous magnetic dipole moment (muon $ g-2 $ ) that introduces several $ S U(2)_L $ multiplet fields without any additional symmetries. The neutrino mass matrix is simply induced via a type-II seesaw scenario in terms of $ S U(2)_L $ triplet Higgs with $ U(1)_Y $ hypercharge 1. In addition, we introduce an $ S U(2)_L $ quartet vector-like fermion with hypercharge $ 1/2 $ and scalar with hypercharge $ 3/2 $ . The quartet fermion plays a crucial role in explaining muon $ g-2 $ causing the chiral flip inside a loop diagram with the mixing of triplet and quartet scalar bosons via the standard model Higgs. We conduct a numerical analysis and search for the allowed region in our parameter space and demonstrate the collider physics.

The proposed magnetized Iron CALorimeter detector (ICAL) to be built in the India-based Neutrino Observatory (INO) laboratory aims to study atmospheric neutrinos and its properties such as precision measurements of oscillation parameters and the neutrino mass hierarchy. High energy charged current (CC) interactions of atmospheric neutrinos with the rock surrounding the detector produce so-called “rock muons” along with hadrons. While the hadron component of these events are absorbed in the rock itself, the rock muons traverse the rock and are detected in the detector. These rock muon events can be distinguished from cosmic muons only in the upward direction and can provide an independent measurement of the oscillation parameters. A simulation study of these events at the ICAL detector shows that, although reduced in significance compared to muons produced in direct CC neutrino interactions with the detector, these events are indeed sensitive to the oscillation parameters, achieving a possible  $$1\sigma $$  <math> <mrow> <mn>1</mn> <mi>σ</mi> </mrow> </math>   precision of 10% and 27% in determining  $$\varDelta m_{32}^2$$  <math> <mrow> <mi>Δ</mi> <msubsup> <mi>m</mi> <mrow> <mn>32</mn> </mrow> <mn>2</mn> </msubsup> </mrow> </math>   and  $$\sin ^2\theta _{23}$$  <math> <mrow> <msup> <mo>sin</mo> <mn>2</mn> </msup> <msub> <mi>θ</mi> <mn>23</mn> </msub> </mrow> </math>  , respectively. Hence a combination of the standard atmospheric neutrino analysis which is the main goal of ICAL, with these rock muon events, will improve the precision reach of ICAL for these parameters.

Simulation analysis with rock muons from atmospheric neutrino interactions in the ICAL detector at the India-based Neutrino Observatory

The valence-quark distribution function of the pion has been of interest for decades; particularly, the profile it should adopt when 
					 (the large-x behavior) has been the subject of a long-standing debate. In the light-front holographic QCD (LFHQCD) approach, this behavior is controlled by the so-called reparametrization function, 
					, which is not fully determined from first principles. We show that, owing to the flexibility of 
					, the large-x profile 
					 can be contained within the LFHQCD formalism. This is in contrast to a previous LFHQCD study (Guy F. de Teramond et al., Phys. Rev. Lett., 120(18), 2018) in which 
					 was found instead. Given our observations, augmented by perturbative QCD and recent lattice QCD results, we state that the large-x exponent of “2” cannot be excluded.

Pion parton distribution function in light-front holographic QCD Supported by the Chinese Government Thousand Talents Plan for Young Professionals

The 
					 triple neutral gauge couplings are absent in the Standard Model (SM) at the tree level. They receive no contributions from dimension-6 effective operators, but can arise from effective operators of dimension-8. We study the scale of new physics associated with such dimension-8 operators that can be probed by measuring the reaction 
					 followed by 
					 decays, at future 
					 colliders including the CEPC, FCC-ee, ILC and CLIC. We demonstrate how angular distributions of the final-state mono-photon and leptons can play a key rôle in suppressing SM backgrounds. We further demonstrate that using electron/positron beam polarizations can significantly improve the signal sensitivities. We find that the dimension-8 new physics scale can be probed up to the multi-TeV region at such lepton colliders.

We report the Neutrino-less Double Beta Decay (NLDBD) search results from PandaX-II dual-phase liquid xenon time projection chamber. The total live time used in this analysis is 403.1 days from June 2016 to August 2018. With NLDBD-optimized event selection criteria, we obtain a fiducial mass of 219 kg of natural xenon. The accumulated xenon exposure is 242 kg·yr, or equivalently 22.2 kg·yr of 136Xe exposure. At the region around 136Xe decay Q-value of 2458 keV, the energy resolution of PandaX-II is 4.2%. We find no evidence of NLDBD in PandaX-II and establish a lower limit for decay half-life of 2.1 
					 yr at the 90% confidence level, which corresponds to an effective Majorana neutrino mass 
					 eV. This is the first NLDBD result reported from a dual-phase xenon experiment.

Abstract We construct a complete heterotic string field theory that includes both the Neveu–Schwarz and Ramond sectors. We give a construction of general string products, which realizes a cyclic  structure and thus provides with a gauge-invariant action in the homotopy algebraic formulation. Through a map of the string fields, we also give the Wess–Zumino–Witten-like action in the large Hilbert space, and verify its gauge invariance independently.

Heterotic string field theory with cyclic Structure Talk at SFT2018 workshop held at HRI Allahabad India, February 11–15, 2018

In this work, we study charged current quasi-elastic scattering (QES) of off nucleon and nucleus using a formalism based on the Llewellyn Smith (LS) model. Parameterizations by Galster et al. are used for electric and magnetic Sachʼs form factors of the nucleons. We use the Fermi gas model along with the Pauli suppression condition to take into account the nuclear effects in the anti-neutrino–nucleus QES. We calculate and charged current quasi-elastic scattering differential and total cross sections for different values of axial mass MA, and compare the results with data from the GGM, SKAT, BNL, NOMAD, MINERνA and MiniBooNE experiments. The present theoretical approach gives a good description of differential cross section data. The calculations with axial mass and 1.05 GeV are compatible with data from most of the experiments.

Charged current quasi-elastic scattering of off 12CSupported by Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi, India

We present a search strategy for both Dirac and Majorana sterile neutrinos from the purely leptonic decays of W± → e± e± μ∓ν and μ± μ± e∓ν at the 14 TeV LHC. The discovery and exclusion limits for sterile neutrinos are shown using both the Cut-and-Count (CC) and Multi-Variate Analysis (MVA) methods. We also discriminate between Dirac and Majorana sterile neutrinos by exploiting a set of kinematic observables which differ between the Dirac and Majorana cases. We find that the MVA method, compared to the more common CC method, can greatly enhance the discovery and discrimination limits. Two benchmark points with sterile neutrino mass mN = 20 GeV and 50 GeV are tested. For an integrated luminosity of 3000 fb−1, sterile neutrinos can be found with 5σ significance if heavy-to-light neutrino mixings |UNe|2 ∼ |UNμ|2∼ 10−6, while Majorana vs. Dirac discrimination can be reached if at least one of the mixings is of order 10−5.

The universality of the weak interactions can be tested in semileptonic b→c transitions, and in particular in the ratios R(D(*)) ≡ Γ(B→D(*)τν)/Γ(B→D(*)lν) (where l=μ or e). Due to the recent differences between the experimental measurements of these observables by BaBar, Belle and LHCb on the one hand and the Standard Model predicted values on the other hand, we study the predicted ratios R(D(*))=Γ(B→D(*)τ+“missing”)/Γ(B→D(*)lν) in scenarios with an additional sterile heavy neutrino of mass ∼1 GeV. Further, we evaluate the newly defined ratio R(0)≡Γ(B→τ+“missing”)/Γ(B→μν) in such scenarios, in view of the future possibilities of measuring the quantity at Belle-II.

A Gaussian wave function is used for detailed study of the mass spectra of the B and BS mesons using a Cornell potential incorporated with a 𝒪(1/m) correction in the potential energy term and expansion of the kinetic energy term up to 𝒪(p10) for relativistic correction of the Hamiltonian. The predicted excited states for the B and Bs mesons are in very good agreement with results obtained by experiment. We assign B2(5747) and Bs2(5840) as the 13P2 state, B1(5721) and Bs1(5830) as the 1P1 state, B0(5732) as the 13P0 state, Bs1(5850) as the state and B(5970) as the 23S1 state. We investigate the Regge trajectories in the (J,M2) and (nr,M2) planes with their corresponding parameters. The branching ratios for leptonic and radiative-leptonic decays are estimated for the B and BS mesons. Our results are in good agreement with experimental observations as well as outcomes of other theoretical models.
