Fusion excitation functions for 19O and 19F + 12C were simultaneously measured along with 20O + 12C using the active-target detector MuSIC@Indiana. Examination of the cross-section just above the barrier reveals a significant suppression of fusion for the 19O + 12C system starting at E <math altimg='si1.svg'><mmultiscripts><mrow><mo>&#8764;</mo></mrow><mprescripts /><mrow><mi mathvariant='normal'>c</mi><mo>.</mo><mi mathvariant='normal'>m</mi><mo>.</mo></mrow><none /></mmultiscripts></math>12 MeV. This suppression is not simply due to the reduced binding of the unpaired neutron in 19O as 17O + 12C does not exhibit the same sharp suppression of the fusion cross-section. Multiple mean-field models are used as a reference to understand the measured fusion excitation functions.

On fluxes in the 19 Landau-Ginzburg model

The identification of jets originating from quarks and gluons, often referred to as quark/gluon tagging, plays an important role in various analyses performed at the Large Hadron Collider, as Standard Model measurements and searches for new particles decaying to quarks often rely on suppressing a large gluon-induced background. This paper describes the measurement of the efficiencies of quark/gluon taggers developed within the ATLAS Collaboration, using $\sqrt{s} = 13$ TeV proton–proton collision data with an integrated luminosity of 140 fb $^{-1}$ collected by the ATLAS experiment. Two taggers with high performances in rejecting jets from gluon over jets from quarks are studied: one tagger is based on requirements on the number of inner-detector tracks associated with the jet, and the other combines several jet substructure observables using a boosted decision tree. A method is established to determine the quark/gluon fraction in data, by using quark/gluon-enriched subsamples defined by the jet pseudorapidity. Differences in tagging efficiency between data and simulation are provided for jets with transverse momentum between 500 GeV and 2 TeV and for multiple tagger working points.

We present a model where all fermions are contained in a single irreducible representation of an <math><mrow><mi>SU</mi></mrow><mo>(</mo><mn>19</mn><mo>)</mo></math> gauge symmetry group. If there is only one scalar field, Yukawa interactions are controlled by a single number rather than by one or more <math><mn>3</mn><mo>×</mo><mn>3</mn></math> matrices of couplings. The low-energy concept of flavor emerges entirely from the scalar-sector parameters; more specifically, entries of the Standard Model Yukawa matrices are controlled by several vacuum expectation values.

Flavorgenesis in an SU(19) model

The production of 
					 baryons in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 
					 is measured in the transverse-momentum range 
					 and the rapidity range 
					. The data used in this measurement correspond to an integrated luminosity of 
					, recorded by the LHCb experiment during 2016. The ratio of the 
					 production cross-section times the branching fraction of the 
					 decay relative to the prompt 
					 production cross-section is found to be 
					, assuming the central value of the measured 
					 lifetime, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic.
