In this work, we present a systematic calculation of the mass spectrum for tetraquark hybrid states, focusing on the $$8_{[c\bar{c}]}\otimes 8_{[G]}\otimes 8_{[c\bar{c}]}$$ color configuration, within the framework of QCD sum rules. As an extension of our previous work on $$0^{++}$$ and $$0^{-+}$$ states, we now construct 18 distinct interpolating currents with $$J^{PC} = 0^{+-}$$ , $$0^{--}$$ , and $$1^{\pm \pm }$$ . Using operator product expansion (OPE) techniques and including nonperturbative contributions up to dimension six, we obtain key results: for the $$0^{+-}$$ , $$1^{--}$$ , and $$1^{-+}$$ states, the predicted masses lie in the range of $$7.2-7.3$$ GeV, while the $$1^{+-}$$ and $$1^{++}$$ states have slightly lower masses, between 6.9 and 7.1 GeV. These predictions provide strong support for the possible existence of an $$8_{[c\bar{c}]}\otimes 8_{[G]}\otimes 8_{[c\bar{c}]}$$ component within the di- $$J/\psi $$ structure reported by LHCb. Moreover, our analogous calculations for tetrabottom hybrid states yield mass ranges of $$19.4-19.5$$ GeV (for $$0^{+-}$$ , $$1^{--}$$ , and $$1^{-+}$$ ) and $$19.2-19.3$$ GeV (for $$1^{+-}$$ and $$1^{++}$$ ), offering crucial references for future searches.

QCD sum rule predictions on gluonic tetraquark states with $$J^{PC}=0^{+-},0^{--}$$ and $$1^{\pm \pm }$$

We present the calculation of the complete NLO corrections to the off-shell top-quark pair production in the $\textit{ℓ}$ + $\textit{j}$ decay channel, denoted as $$ pp\to \ell -{\overline{\nu}}_{\ell }{j}_b{j}_b jj+X $$ , where $\textit{ℓ}$ = $\textit{e}$ , $\textit{μ}$ . The calculation consistently preserves the finite-width effects of the top quarks and massive gauge bosons, as well as takes into account all doubly-, singly-, and non-resonant contributions along with their interference effects. All Born-level contributions, at the perturbative orders from $$ \mathcal{O}\left({\alpha}_s^4{\alpha}^2\right) $$ to $$ \mathcal{O}\left({\alpha}_s^0{\alpha}^6\right) $$ , are included and corrected by both NLO QCD and NLO EW effects. Furthermore, all possible partonic initial states are taken into account. Particular attention is paid to the infrared safety in the presence of photons and jets. This requires the use of the so-called parton-to-photon fragmentation function and the photon-to-jet conversion function, which makes the democratic photon-parton clustering and the $$ \gamma \to q\overline{q} $$ splittings finite. We present our findings at the integrated and differential fiducial cross-section levels for the LHC Run III centre-of-mass energy of $$ \sqrt{s} $$ = 13.6 TeV. In addition, we quantify the impact of subleading NLO effects, in particular, electroweak Sudakov logarithms and non-resonant QCD backgrounds. Two analysis strategies are employed and compared, namely with and without the resonance-enhancing requirement on the invariant mass of the two light jets, |$\textit{M}$ – $\textit{m}$ | < $$ {\mathcal{Q}}_{\mathrm{cut}} $$ = 20 GeV, illustrating the relationship between QCD background suppression, off-shell effects, interferences, and complete NLO corrections.

Complete NLO corrections to off-shell $$ t\overline{t} $$ production in the $\textit{ℓ}$ + $\textit{j}$ decay channel

A search is presented for the electroweak production of a top-quark pair in association with a <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>W</mi></math> boson and at least one additional jet known as the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>t</mi><mover accent="true"><mi>t</mi><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mover><mi>W</mi><msub><mi>j</mi><mi>EW</mi></msub></math> process. This process has embedded within it a <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>t</mi><mi>W</mi></math>-scattering vertex, which is probed directly for the first time. The collision data were collected with the ATLAS detector during Run 2 of the LHC and correspond to an integrated luminosity of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mn>140</mn><mtext> </mtext><mtext> </mtext><msup><mi>fb</mi><mrow><mo>−</mo><mn>1</mn></mrow></msup></math> at <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msqrt><mi>s</mi></msqrt><mo>=</mo><mn>13</mn><mtext> </mtext><mtext> </mtext><mi>TeV</mi></math>. The search uses same-charge pairs of electrons and muons together with jets, of which at least one is <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>b</mi></math>-tagged. The properties of the most forward jet relative to the rest of the event are used to discriminate the electroweak <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>t</mi><mover accent="true"><mi>t</mi><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mover><mi>W</mi><msub><mi>j</mi><mi>EW</mi></msub></math> production process from its strong <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>t</mi><mover accent="true"><mi>t</mi><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mover><mi>W</mi></math> production counterpart. A measured (expected) 95% CL upper limit on the cross section is set at <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>σ</mi><mrow><mi>t</mi><mover accent="true"><mi>t</mi><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mover><mi>W</mi><msub><mi>j</mi><mi>EW</mi></msub></mrow></msub><mo>&lt;</mo><mn>251</mn><mtext> </mtext><mtext> </mtext><mi>fb</mi></math> (230 fb), to be compared with the expected Standard Model (SM) cross section of 47.7 fb. Limits are set on the SM effective field theory (EFT) operators <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>O</mi><mrow><mi>H</mi><mi>t</mi></mrow></msub></math> and <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msubsup><mi>O</mi><mrow><mi>H</mi><mi>Q</mi></mrow><mrow><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>1</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></mrow></msubsup></math>, which modify the electroweak couplings of the top quark through contributions to the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>t</mi><mi>W</mi></math>-scattering vertex. The interpretation acts as a case study to emphasize the importance of energy-dependent sensitivity, multiprocess, and multioperator EFT contributions.

Search for electroweak <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>t</mi><mover accent="true"><mi>t</mi><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mover><mi>W</mi><mi>j</mi></math> production in multileptonic final states at <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msqrt><mi>s</mi></msqrt><mo>=</mo><mn>13</mn><mtext> </mtext><mtext> </mtext><mi>TeV</mi></math> with the ATLAS detector and bounds on effective field theory operators

In this work, we investigate the production and decay of molecular states with quark content $cc\bar c\bar q$ and $J^P=1^+$ using a phenomenological analysis and an effective Lagrangian approach. Based on an $\textit{SU}$(3) flavor-symmetry analysis to identify golden channels, we further explore the dynamics of these processes under the molecular assumptions of ${\eta_c D^*}$ and ${J/\psi D^*}$ . Our results indicate that the production branching ratio in $B_c$ decays is sizable: it can be of order $10^{-4}$ for the molecular configuration ${{\eta}_cD^*}$ and $10^{-5}$ for the molecule ${J/\psi D^*}$ . In addition, we find that the decay widths of the two molecular configurations ${{\eta}_cD^*}$ and ${J/\psi D^*}$ are not significant, at the level of ${\cal{O}}$ ( $\text{MeV}$ ).

Analysis of molecular state $\textit{η$_{c}$D}$ $^{*}$ and $\textit{J}$/$\textit{ψD}$ $^{*}$ in the effective Lagrangian approach * Supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) (12005294)

Motivated by the recent BESIII measurements of the $$J/\psi \rightarrow \Xi ^0 {\bar{\Lambda }}K_S^0 + c.c.$$ process, we investigate this reaction by considering the contributions from the $$\Xi (1690)$$ , $$\Lambda (1890)$$ and $$\Lambda (1830)$$ resonances. The $$\Xi (1690)$$ state is dynamically generated from the $\textit{S}$-wave pseudoscalar meson-octet baryon interactions within the chiral unitary approach. Our theoretical model provides a good description of the $${\bar{\Lambda }}K^0$$ , $$\Xi ^0 K^0$$ , and $${\bar{\Lambda }}\Xi ^0$$ invariant mass distributions. The results indicate that the $$\Xi (1690)$$ resonance, which was neglected in the experimental analysis by BESIII, plays a crucial role in this process. Furthermore, we evaluate the theoretical uncertainties of our model using the parametric bootstrap method. Future high-precision measurements of this process will further help to elucidate the properties of the $$\Xi (1690)$$ , $$\Lambda (1890)$$ and $$\Lambda (1830)$$ states.

Role of $$\Xi (1690)$$ in the $$J/\psi \rightarrow \Xi ^0{\bar{\Lambda }}K^0$$ reaction

Confirming the existence of hybrid states remains challenging due to their experimental indistinguishability from tightly bound tetraquarks and loosely bound molecules. To address this issue, we employ QCD sum rules to systematically investigate the $$ \pi _1(1600) $$ and $$ \eta _1(1855) $$ as candidate tetraquark states with exotic quantum numbers $$ J^{PC} = 1^{-+}$$ . Within the hybrid framework, an $$ SU(3) $$ flavor nonet is expected, featuring two isoscalar configurations, $$ q{\bar{q}}g $$ and $$s{\bar{s}}g$$ , where $$q = u/d $$ . Moreover, the decay width of the $$ s{\bar{s}}g $$ state into the $$ K^* {\bar{K}}^* $$ channel ($\textit{VV}$) is found to be two orders of magnitude smaller than that into the $$ \eta \eta ^\prime $$ channel ($\textit{PP}$) [1]. In contrast, the tetraquark scenario predicts an $$ SU(3) $$ flavor 81-plet comprising three isoscalar states: $$ qq{\bar{q}}{\bar{q}} $$ , $$ qs{\bar{q}}{\bar{s}} $$ , and $$ ss{\bar{s}}{\bar{s}} $$ . Our analysis yields a mass of $$ 2.22^{+0.18}_{-0.26}~\textrm{GeV} $$ for the $$ ss{\bar{s}}{\bar{s}} $$ tetraquark state, which is expected to decay predominantly into the $$ \phi \phi $$ channel ($\textit{VV}$) and the $$ \eta f_1(1420) $$ channel, while its decay into the the $$ \eta \eta ^\prime $$ channel ($\textit{PP}$) is significantly suppressed. Therefore, experimental searches focusing on the $\textit{VV}$ decay channels are essential for discriminating between hybrid and tetraquark scenarios.

An excess near 6.9 GeV is observed in both channels with a combined significance of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><mn>8.9</mn><mi>σ</mi></mrow></math>. No significant signal is observed near 7.2 GeV, and an upper limit on its yield relative to <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>X</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>6900</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> is provided. A simultaneous fit with the di-<math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>J</mi><mo>/</mo><mi>ψ</mi></math> channel is carried out under assumptions regarding the resonance interferences, yielding a ratio of the partial decay widths between the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>J</mi><mo>/</mo><mi>ψ</mi><mo>+</mo><mi>ψ</mi><mrow><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>2</mn><mi mathvariant="normal">S</mi><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></mrow></math> and di-<math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>J</mi><mo>/</mo><mi>ψ</mi></math> channels of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mn>1.08</mn><mo>±</mo><mn>0.2</mn><msubsup><mn>0</mn><mrow><mo>−</mo><mn>0.17</mn></mrow><mrow><mo>+</mo><mn>0.40</mn></mrow></msubsup></math> for the resonance near 6.9 GeV.

The ratios, found to be smaller than unity by more than <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mn>5</mn><mi>σ</mi></math>, confirm the presence of the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi mathvariant="normal">Δ</mi><mi>I</mi><mo>=</mo><mn>3</mn><mo>/</mo><mn>2</mn></math> transition in the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi mathvariant="normal">Λ</mi></math> and <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mover accent="true"><mi mathvariant="normal">Λ</mi><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mover></math> decays, which is expected to improve the theoretical calculations for isospin amplitudes, and <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>A</mi><mrow><mi>C</mi><mi>P</mi></mrow></msub></math>, in hyperon decays. In all results, the first and second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively.
