The large channel hierarchies arise from spatial overlaps and interference between spin-independent and hyperfine contributions and are not universal heavy-quark-spin-symmetry ratios. We also explore a retarded one-pion-exchange transition at first Born order. It affects <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>P</mi><mi>c</mi></msub><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>4312</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><msub><mi mathvariant="normal">Λ</mi><mi>c</mi></msub><msup><mover accent="true"><mi>D</mi><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mover><mo>*</mo></msup></math> most strongly, while the coherent widths remain sensitive to the cutoff, energy-transfer prescription, short-distance subtraction, and unresolved relative matching sign. The quark-interchange hierarchies are therefore the central predictions, whereas the pion-exchange results quantify matching sensitivity. It has been proposed that such a non-monotonicity would be consistent with increased momentum correlations due to a critical point of QCD. In the present work it is shown, using a simplified model, that the observed structure can be consistently explained by the transition from a baryon dominated system to a meson dominated system and is therefore not a good observable for the critical point of QCD.

By performing a flavor decomposition across all admissible u/ d configurations, we show that the charm-quark contribution to the electromagnetic moments vanishes algebraically at the operator level – a structural feature of the specific spin organization adopted here, in which the heavy antiquark resides in a pseudoscalar antidiquark, distinct from the dynamical 1/ m<inf>c</inf> suppression operative in alternative compact constructions and in hadronic molecules. The magnetic moments follow a coherent light-flavor pattern – positive for uu-, negative for dd-, and suppressed for mixed-flavor diquarks – and the quadrupole moments are non-zero throughout, corresponding, in the customary geometrical interpretation, to intrinsically deformed charge distributions. We further identify the dimensionless multipole ratio <math altimg='si39.svg'><mrow><mi mathvariant='script'>D</mi><mo linebreak='goodbreak'>/</mo><mi>μ</mi></mrow></math> as a structural observable, independent of the normalization of the interpolating current, which probes the relative geometry of the spin-current and charge distributions complementary to the absolute moments. Taken together, the algebraic decoupling of the charm contribution and the operator-level distinction it implies among different singly-heavy tetraquark architectures constitute methodological signatures that discriminate among the corresponding internal organizations and, to the extent that a physical candidate is dominated by one of them, among compact and molecular interpretations.

The topological susceptibility of the QCD vacuum provides an understanding of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>θ</mi></math> vacua as vacua of a Chern-Simons gauge theory. In this way, it gives an immediate proof of the physicality of the boundary <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>θ</mi></math>-term. This makes the essence of the strong-<math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>C</mi><mi>P</mi></math> puzzle very transparent and offers a solution in form of the gauge axion, which has exact quality. This axion represents an intrinsic part of the QCD gauge redundancy without any reference to an anomalous global symmetry. It is a two-form transforming under the QCD gauge symmetry. Because of its pure-gauge nature, the gauge axion represents a powerful tool to monitor physics of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>θ</mi></math> vacua in various regimes. Unlike the ordinary Peccei-Quinn axion, which is UV completed into a Goldstone phase of a complex scalar and thereby suffers from the quality problem, the gauge axion is UV completed directly into a fundamental theory of gravity. We study the domain wall and string structure of the gauge axion and show that the strings sourcing it must be a part of this fundamental theory. We thus observe that the absence of the axion quality problem motivates the presence of fundamental strings. This provides a new argument for a connection between the axion and gravity.

The masses of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mn>1</mn><mrow><mo>−</mo><mo>−</mo></mrow></msup></math> P-wave charmoniumlike and bottomoniumlike tetraquark states are calculated in a constituent quark model where the Cornell-like potential and Breit-Fermi interaction are employed. All model parameters were imported from previous work, and predetermined by studying the low-lying conventional S- and P-wave light, charmed, bottom, charmonium, and bottomonium meson mass spectra. The lowest <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mn>1</mn><mrow><mo>−</mo><mo>−</mo></mrow></msup></math> tetraquark mass is predicted to be around 4.15 GeV.
