Erratum to: First-principle event reconstruction by time-charge readouts for TAO

In this work, we investigate the kaon-induced production of strange hidden-charm pentaquark $$P^\varLambda _{\psi s}$$ states, including the $$P^\varLambda _{\psi s}(4459)$$ and $$P^\varLambda _{\psi s}(4338)$$ observed by the LHCb collaboration. Coupled-channel interactions involving the channels $$\bar{K}N$$ , $$\varXi _c^{(*)}\bar{D}^{(*)}$$ , $$\varXi '_c\bar{D}^{(*)}$$ , $$\varLambda _c\bar{D}_s^{(*)}$$ , and $$\varLambda J/\psi $$ are studied using effective Lagrangians to describe these interactions. The potential kernels are constructed within the one-boson-exchange model and implemented into the quasipotential Bethe–Salpeter equation to calculate the scattering amplitudes. From these amplitudes, the partial-wave cross sections for kaon-induced production are predicted alongside the poles corresponding to strange hidden-charm molecular pentaquarks. The analysis reveals complex structures in the cross sections due to molecular states. A structure near the $$\varXi _c\bar{D}$$ threshold is predicted in the $$\varLambda _c\bar{D}_s$$ channel, corresponding to $$P^\varLambda _{\psi s}(4338)$$ . Both molecular states near the $$\varXi _c\bar{D}^*$$ threshold with $$J^P = 1/2^-$$ and $$J^P = 3/2^-$$ , associated with $$P^\varLambda _{\psi s}(4459)$$ , produce peaks in the $$\varXi '_c\bar{D}$$ channel, which vary significantly with the cutoff. Additionally, a molecular state with $$J^P = 3/2^-$$ near the $$\varXi _c^*\bar{D}$$ threshold gives rise to a peak in the $$\varXi _c\bar{D}^*$$ channel. In the higher energy region, from 4350 to 4550 MeV, although the cross sections in the $$\varLambda _c\bar{D}_s^{(*)}$$ channels are substantial, no distinct structures corresponding to strange hidden-charm pentaquarks are identified, apart from some threshold-related cusps. These results provide valuable theoretical insights and serve as a foundation for future experimental studies of strange hidden-charm pentaquarks using kaon beams at J-PARC and JLab.

Kaon-induced production of strange hidden-charm molecular pentaquarks $$P^\varLambda _{\psi s}$$ from proton

In this study, we investigate the $R^2$ corrections to the dissociation of heavy quarkonium in the Gauss-Bonnet gravitational background. We analyze the impact of the Gauss-Bonnet parameter $\lambda_{\rm GB}$ on the spectral function of charmonium and bottomonium and examine the effect of $\lambda_{\rm GB}$ on the dissociation of heavy quarkonium. Our results show that $\lambda_{\rm GB}$ reduces the peak height and increases the peak width of the spectral function, suggesting that $\lambda_{\rm GB}$ enhances the dissociation of heavy quarkonium. We also discuss the variation in the dissociation of heavy quarkonium with the ratio of shear viscosity to entropy density and observe that the dissociation is easier in more perfect plasma. Additionally, we observe that the temperature decreases the peak height and widens the peak, thereby accelerating the dissociation.

The Taishan Antineutrino Observatory (TAO) is a liquid-scintillator satellite experiment of the Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO) to measure the reference reactor neutrino spectrum with unprecedented energy resolution. We use inhomogeneous Poisson process and Tweedie generalized linear model (GLM) to characterize the detector response and the charge distribution of a SiPM. We develop a pure probabilistic model for time and charge of SiPMs from first principles to reconstruct point-like events in the TAO central detector. Thanks to our precise model and the high photo-coverage and quantum efficiency of the SiPM tiles at TAO, we achieve vertex position resolution better than $$20\,\hbox {mm}$$ , energy resolution of about $$2\%$$ at $$1\,\hbox {MeV}$$ and $$<0.5\%$$ non-uniformity, marking the world’s best performance of liquid scintillator detectors. With such resolution, we perceive $$\hbox {MeV}$$ events to exhibit track effects. It opens up an exciting possibility of computed tracking calorimeter for unsegmented liquid scintillator detector like TAO. Our methodology is applicable to other experiments that utilize PMTs for time and charge readouts.

First-principle event reconstruction by time-charge readouts for TAO

We study the transverse momentum ( $p_T$ ) differential anisotropic flow and flow fluctuation in Pb+Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{_{NN}}}$ =5.02 TeV at the LHC. A (3+1)-dimensional CLVisc hydrodynamics framework with fluctuating TRENTO (or AMPT) initial conditions is utilized to simulate the space-time evolution of the quark-gluon plasma (QGP) medium. The effects of shear viscosity and the sub-nucleon structure on anisotropic flow and flow fluctuation are analyzed. Our result shows that shear viscosity tends to suppress both flow coefficients ( ${v_2\{2}\}$ , ${v_2\{4\}}$ , and ${\langle v_2\rangle}$ ) and flow fluctuation ( ${\sigma_{v_2}}$ ) owing to its smearing effect on local density fluctuation. The flow coefficients appear to be insensitive to the sub-nucleon structure, whereas the flow fluctuation ${\sigma_{v_2}}$ tends to be suppressed by the sub-nucleon structure in central collisions but enhanced in peripheral collisions. After taking into account the sub-nucleon structure effect, our numerical result can qualitatively describe the relative flow fluctuations ( ${v_2\{4\}/v_2\{2\}}$ , $F({v_2})$ ) measured by the ALICE Collaboration at the LHC. We further investigate the effects of shear viscosity, sub-nucleon structure, and initial condition model on the flow angle and flow magnitude decorrelations ( ${A_2^f}$ , ${M_2^f}$ ) using the four-particle correlation method. We find that the flow decorrelation effect is typically stronger in central collisions than in peripheral collisions. The flow angle decorrelation is found to be insensitive to the shear viscosity and sub-nucleon structure, whereas the flow magnitude decorrelation shows quite different behaviors when using the TRENTO and AMPT initial condition models. Our study sheds light on the anisotropic flow, transport properties, and initial structure of the QGP created in high-energy nuclear collisions.

This study investigates the production of open-charm pentaquark molecular states, specifically <math><mi>N</mi><msup><mover><mi>D</mi><mo>¯</mo></mover><mo>*</mo></msup></math> and <math><mover><mi>N</mi><mo>¯</mo></mover><msup><mover><mi>D</mi><mo>¯</mo></mover><mo>*</mo></msup></math>, within the <math><msup><mi>B</mi><mn>0</mn></msup><mo>→</mo><msup><mover><mi>D</mi><mo>¯</mo></mover><mn>0</mn></msup><mi>p</mi><mover><mi>p</mi><mo>¯</mo></mover></math> decay. We examine the invariant mass spectra of <math><mi>p</mi><msup><mover><mi>D</mi><mo>¯</mo></mover><mn>0</mn></msup></math> and <math><mover><mi>p</mi><mo>¯</mo></mover><msup><mover><mi>D</mi><mo>¯</mo></mover><mn>0</mn></msup></math>, incorporating the rescattering process through a quasipotential Bethe-Salpeter equation approach. Our findings suggest the possible identification of the isoscalar <math><mover><mi>N</mi><mo>¯</mo></mover><msup><mover><mi>D</mi><mo>¯</mo></mover><mo>*</mo></msup></math> molecule with <math><mn>3</mn><mo>/</mo><msup><mn>2</mn><mo>+</mo></msup></math> as the antiparticle partner of <math><msub><mi>Λ</mi><mi>c</mi></msub><mo>(</mo><mn>2940</mn><mo>)</mo></math> in the <math><mover><mi>p</mi><mo>¯</mo></mover><msup><mover><mi>D</mi><mo>¯</mo></mover><mn>0</mn></msup></math> mass spectrum. Although a molecular state near the <math><mover><mi>N</mi><mo>¯</mo></mover><mover><mi>D</mi><mo>¯</mo></mover></math> threshold with <math><mn>1</mn><mo>/</mo><msup><mn>2</mn><mo>−</mo></msup></math> exists, its signal is weak, indicating that the <math><msup><mi>B</mi><mn>0</mn></msup><mo>→</mo><msup><mover><mi>D</mi><mo>¯</mo></mover><mn>0</mn></msup><mi>p</mi><mover><mi>p</mi><mo>¯</mo></mover></math> decay may not be ideal for its detection. A distinct signal of the isovector <math><mi>N</mi><msup><mover><mi>D</mi><mo>¯</mo></mover><mo>*</mo></msup></math> molecule with <math><mn>1</mn><mo>/</mo><msup><mn>2</mn><mo>−</mo></msup></math> may appear in the <math><mi>p</mi><msup><mover><mi>D</mi><mo>¯</mo></mover><mn>0</mn></msup></math> invariant mass spectrum, while the signal for the <math><mn>3</mn><mo>/</mo><msup><mn>2</mn><mo>−</mo></msup></math> state remains very weak. We emphasize the importance of the three-body decay of the bottom meson as a valuable method for studying open-charm molecules and advocate for increased attention and more precise experimental measurements of the <math><msup><mi>B</mi><mn>0</mn></msup><mo>→</mo><msup><mover><mi>D</mi><mo>¯</mo></mover><mn>0</mn></msup><mi>p</mi><mover><mi>p</mi><mo>¯</mo></mover></math> decay.

Production of open-charm pentaquark molecules in decay <math><msup><mi>B</mi><mn>0</mn></msup><mo>→</mo><msup><mover><mi>D</mi><mo>¯</mo></mover><mn>0</mn></msup><mi>p</mi><mover><mi>p</mi><mo>¯</mo></mover></math>

The potential kernels are constructed with the help of effective Lagrangians under SU(3), heavy quark, and chiral symmetries to describe these interactions. To search for possible molecular states, the kernels are inserted into the quasipotential Bethe–Salpeter equation, which is solved to find poles from scattering amplitude. The results suggest that 36 and 24 bound states can be found in the baryon–baryon and baryon–antibaryon interactions, respectively. However, much large values of parameter  $$\alpha $$  <math> <mi>α</mi> </math>   are required to produce the bound states from the baryon–antibaryon interactions, which questions the existence of these bound states. Possible coupled-channel effect are considered in the current work to estimate the couplings of the molecular states to the channels considered.

Possible molecular dibaryons with csssqq quarks and their baryon–antibaryon partners

Recently, the LHCb Collaboration has reported two strange hidden-charm pentaquark states named <math><msubsup><mi>P</mi><mrow><mi>ψ</mi><mi>s</mi></mrow><mi>Λ</mi></msubsup><mo>(</mo><mn>4459</mn><mo>)</mo></math> and <math><msubsup><mi>P</mi><mrow><mi>ψ</mi><mi>s</mi></mrow><mi>Λ</mi></msubsup><mo>(</mo><mn>4338</mn><mo>)</mo></math> in the <math><mi>J</mi><mo>/</mo><mi>ψ</mi><mi>Λ</mi></math> invariant mass spectra of decays <math><msubsup><mi>Ξ</mi><mi>b</mi><mo>−</mo></msubsup><mo>→</mo><mi>J</mi><mo>/</mo><mi>ψ</mi><mi>Λ</mi><msup><mi>K</mi><mo>−</mo></msup></math> and <math><msup><mi>B</mi><mo>−</mo></msup><mo>→</mo><mi>J</mi><mo>/</mo><mi>ψ</mi><mi>Λ</mi><mover><mi>p</mi><mo>¯</mo></mover></math>, respectively. In this work, we perform a coupled-channel study of the interactions <math><msubsup><mi>Ξ</mi><mi>c</mi><mo>*</mo></msubsup><msup><mover><mi>D</mi><mo>¯</mo></mover><mo>*</mo></msup></math>, <math><msubsup><mi>Ξ</mi><mi>c</mi><mo>′</mo></msubsup><msup><mover><mi>D</mi><mo>¯</mo></mover><mo>*</mo></msup></math>, <math><msubsup><mi>Ξ</mi><mi>c</mi><mo>*</mo></msubsup><mover><mi>D</mi><mo>¯</mo></mover></math>, <math><msub><mi>Ξ</mi><mi>c</mi></msub><msup><mover><mi>D</mi><mo>¯</mo></mover><mo>*</mo></msup></math>, <math><msubsup><mi>Ξ</mi><mi>c</mi><mo>′</mo></msubsup><mover><mi>D</mi><mo>¯</mo></mover></math>, <math><msub><mi>Λ</mi><mi>c</mi></msub><msubsup><mover><mi>D</mi><mo>¯</mo></mover><mi>s</mi><mo>*</mo></msubsup></math>, <math><msub><mi>Ξ</mi><mi>c</mi></msub><mover><mi>D</mi><mo>¯</mo></mover></math>, <math><msub><mi>Λ</mi><mi>c</mi></msub><msub><mover><mi>D</mi><mo>¯</mo></mover><mi>s</mi></msub></math>, and <math><mi>Λ</mi><mi>J</mi><mo>/</mo><mi>ψ</mi></math> in the quasipotential Bethe-Salpeter equation approach to estimate the <math><mi>J</mi><mo>/</mo><mi>ψ</mi><mi>Λ</mi></math> invariant mass spectra. With the help of effective Lagrangians, the potential kernel can be constructed by meson exchanges to obtain the scattering amplitudes, from which the poles of the bound states and the invariant mass spectra can be reached. The coupled-channel calculation results in that the width of state <math><msub><mi>Ξ</mi><mi>c</mi></msub><msup><mover><mi>D</mi><mo>¯</mo></mover><mo>*</mo></msup><mo>(</mo><mn>1</mn><mo>/</mo><msup><mn>2</mn><mo>−</mo></msup><mo>)</mo></math> is about 18 MeV and that of state <math><msub><mi>Ξ</mi><mi>c</mi></msub><msup><mover><mi>D</mi><mo>¯</mo></mover><mo>*</mo></msup><mo>(</mo><mn>3</mn><mo>/</mo><msup><mn>2</mn><mo>−</mo></msup><mo>)</mo></math> is only about 1.6 MeV. By comparison with experimental data, it indicates that the structure <math><msubsup><mi>P</mi><mrow><mi>ψ</mi><mi>s</mi></mrow><mi>Λ</mi></msubsup><mo>(</mo><mn>4459</mn><mo>)</mo></math> is mainly from the contribution from the <math><msub><mi>Ξ</mi><mi>c</mi></msub><msup><mover><mi>D</mi><mo>¯</mo></mover><mo>*</mo></msup><mo>(</mo><mn>1</mn><mo>/</mo><msup><mn>2</mn><mo>−</mo></msup><mo>)</mo></math> state while the role of state <math><msub><mi>Ξ</mi><mi>c</mi></msub><msup><mover><mi>D</mi><mo>¯</mo></mover><mo>*</mo></msup><mo>(</mo><mn>3</mn><mo>/</mo><msup><mn>2</mn><mo>−</mo></msup><mo>)</mo></math> cannot be excluded. The line shape of the structure <math><msubsup><mi>P</mi><mrow><mi>ψ</mi><mi>s</mi></mrow><mi>Λ</mi></msubsup><mo>(</mo><mn>4338</mn><mo>)</mo></math> can be reproduced roughly by a narrow molecular state from the <math><msub><mi>Ξ</mi><mi>c</mi></msub><mover><mi>D</mi><mo>¯</mo></mover></math> interaction with <math><msup><mi>J</mi><mi>P</mi></msup><mo>=</mo><mn>1</mn><mo>/</mo><msup><mn>2</mn><mo>−</mo></msup></math>, which is extremely close to the threshold, with a large interference effect. Besides, an additional state <math><msubsup><mi>Ξ</mi><mi>c</mi><mo>′</mo></msubsup><mover><mi>D</mi><mo>¯</mo></mover><mo>(</mo><mn>1</mn><mo>/</mo><msup><mn>2</mn><mo>−</mo></msup><mo>)</mo></math> is suggested to be observed as a dip structure in the <math><mi>J</mi><mo>/</mo><mi>ψ</mi><mi>Λ</mi></math> invariant mass spectrum.

<math><msubsup><mi>P</mi><mrow><mi>ψ</mi><mi>s</mi></mrow><mi>Λ</mi></msubsup><mo>(</mo><mn>4459</mn><mo>)</mo></math> and <math><msubsup><mi>P</mi><mrow><mi>ψ</mi><mi>s</mi></mrow><mi>Λ</mi></msubsup><mo>(</mo><mn>4338</mn><mo>)</mo></math> as molecular states in <math><mi>J</mi><mo>/</mo><mi>ψ</mi><mi>Λ</mi></math> invariant mass spectra

The Taishan Antineutrino Observatory (TAO or JUNO-TAO) is a satellite experiment of the Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO). Located near a reactor of the Taishan Nuclear Power Plant, TAO will measure the reactor antineutrino energy spectrum with an unprecedented energy resolution of  $$&lt;2\%$$  <math> <mrow> <mo>&lt;</mo> <mn>2</mn> <mo>%</mo> </mrow> </math>   at 1 MeV. Energy calibration is critical to achieve such a high energy resolution. Using the Automated Calibration Unit (ACU) and the Cable Loop System (CLS), multiple radioactive sources are deployed to various positions in the TAO detector for energy calibration. The residual non-uniformity can be controlled within 0.2%. The energy resolution degradation and energy bias caused by the residual non-uniformity can be controlled within 0.05% and 0.3%, respectively. The uncertainty of the non-linear energy response can be controlled within 0.6% with the radioactive sources of various energies, and could be further improved with cosmogenic  $$^{12}{\textrm{B}}$$  <math> <mrow> <msup> <mrow></mrow> <mn>12</mn> </msup> <mtext>B</mtext> </mrow> </math>   which is produced by the interaction of cosmic muon in the liquid scintillator. The stability of other detector parameters, e.g., the gain of each Silicon Photo-multiplier, will be monitored with an ultraviolet LED calibration system.

Calibration strategy of the JUNO-TAO experiment

In this work, a study of possible molecular states from the <math><msub><mrow><mi>Λ</mi></mrow><mrow><mi>c</mi></mrow></msub><msub><mrow><mover><mrow><mi>Λ</mi></mrow><mrow><mo>¯</mo></mrow></mover></mrow><mrow><mi>c</mi></mrow></msub></math> interaction and their productions in nucleon-antinucleon collision is performed in a quasipotential Bethe-Salpeter equation approach. Two bound states with quantum numbers <math><msup><mrow><mi>J</mi></mrow><mrow><mi>P</mi><mi>C</mi></mrow></msup><mo>=</mo><msup><mrow><mn>0</mn></mrow><mrow><mo>−</mo><mo>+</mo></mrow></msup></math> and <math><msup><mrow><mn>1</mn></mrow><mrow><mo>−</mo><mo>−</mo></mrow></msup></math> are produced with almost the same binding energy from the <math><msub><mrow><mi>Λ</mi></mrow><mrow><mi>c</mi></mrow></msub><msub><mrow><mover><mrow><mi>Λ</mi></mrow><mrow><mo>¯</mo></mrow></mover></mrow><mrow><mi>c</mi></mrow></msub></math> interaction which is described by the light meson exchanges. However, the result does not support the assignment of experimentally observed <math><mi>Y</mi><mo>(</mo><mn>4630</mn><mo>)</mo></math> as a <math><msub><mrow><mi>Λ</mi></mrow><mrow><mi>c</mi></mrow></msub><msub><mrow><mover><mrow><mi>Λ</mi></mrow><mrow><mo>¯</mo></mrow></mover></mrow><mrow><mi>c</mi></mrow></msub></math> molecular state because it is hard to obtain a peak near experimental mass of the <math><mi>Y</mi><mo>(</mo><mn>4630</mn><mo>)</mo></math> which is far above the <math><msub><mrow><mi>Λ</mi></mrow><mrow><mi>c</mi></mrow></msub><msub><mrow><mover><mrow><mi>Λ</mi></mrow><mrow><mo>¯</mo></mrow></mover></mrow><mrow><mi>c</mi></mrow></msub></math> threshold. The possibility to search these states in nucleon-antinucleon collision is studied by including couplings to <math><mi>N</mi><mover><mrow><mi>N</mi></mrow><mrow><mo>¯</mo></mrow></mover></math> and <math><msup><mrow><mi>D</mi></mrow><mrow><mo>(</mo><mo>⁎</mo><mo>)</mo></mrow></msup><msup><mrow><mover><mrow><mi>D</mi></mrow><mrow><mo>¯</mo></mrow></mover></mrow><mrow><mo>(</mo><mo>⁎</mo><mo>)</mo></mrow></msup></math> channels. The peaks can be found obviously near the <math><msub><mrow><mi>Λ</mi></mrow><mrow><mi>c</mi></mrow></msub><msub><mrow><mover><mrow><mi>Λ</mi></mrow><mrow><mo>¯</mo></mrow></mover></mrow><mrow><mi>c</mi></mrow></msub></math> threshold in the <math><msup><mrow><mi>D</mi></mrow><mrow><mo>⁎</mo></mrow></msup><msup><mrow><mover><mrow><mi>D</mi></mrow><mrow><mo>¯</mo></mrow></mover></mrow><mrow><mo>⁎</mo></mrow></msup></math> channel at an order of amplitude of 10 μb. Too small width of state with <math><msup><mrow><mn>0</mn></mrow><mrow><mo>−</mo><mo>+</mo></mrow></msup></math> may lead to the difficulty to be observed in experiment. Based on the results in the current work, search for the <math><msub><mrow><mi>Λ</mi></mrow><mrow><mi>c</mi></mrow></msub><msub><mrow><mover><mrow><mi>Λ</mi></mrow><mrow><mo>¯</mo></mrow></mover></mrow><mrow><mi>c</mi></mrow></msub></math> molecular state with <math><msup><mrow><mn>1</mn></mrow><mrow><mo>−</mo><mo>−</mo></mrow></msup></math> is suggested in process <math><mi>N</mi><mover><mrow><mi>N</mi></mrow><mrow><mo>¯</mo></mrow></mover><mo>→</mo><msup><mrow><mi>D</mi></mrow><mrow><mo>⁎</mo></mrow></msup><msup><mrow><mover><mrow><mi>D</mi></mrow><mrow><mo>¯</mo></mrow></mover></mrow><mrow><mo>⁎</mo></mrow></msup></math>, which is accessible at <math><mover><mrow><mi>P</mi></mrow><mrow><mo>¯</mo></mrow></mover><mi>ANDA</mi></math>.
