We present a detailed study of the regularized on-shell action of the recently found asymptotically AdS black hole supergravity solution with three angular momenta and two electric charges. We show that a particular choice of finite counterterms in the holographic renormalization procedure yields a result for the on-shell action of the supersymmetric limit of the black hole solution which is in perfect agreement with the large $\textit{N}$ limit of the superconformal index of the dual 6d 𝒩 = (2, 0) $\textit{A}$ SCFT on $\textit{S}$ × $\textit{S}$ . We also discuss a generalization of this 7d supergravity background to a new general family of black holes with horizons given by the $\textit{L}$ 5d Sasaki-Einstein manifolds. The regularized on-shell action of these new 7d black holes is also in agreement with supersymmetric localization results for the 6d 𝒩 = (2, 0) SCFT on $\textit{S}$ × $\textit{L}$ . Finally, we briefly discuss a generalization of known AdS gauged supergravity backgrounds to new 5d black holes with $\textit{L}$($\textit{p}$, $\textit{q}$) lens space horizon topologies.

We discuss the landscape of flavor physics at the Circular Electron-Positron Collider (CEPC), based on the nominal luminosity outlined in its Technical Design Report. The CEPC is designed to operate in multiple modes to address a variety of tasks. At the $\textit{Z}$ pole, the expected production of 4 Tera $\textit{Z}$ bosons will provide unique and highly precise measurements of $\textit{Z}$ boson couplings, while the substantial number of boosted heavy-flavored quarks and leptons produced in clean $\textit{Z}$ decays will facilitate investigations into their flavor physics with unprecedented precision. We investigate the prospects of measuring various physics benchmarks and discuss their implications for particle theories and phenomenological models. Our studies indicate that, with its highlighted advantages and anticipated excellent detector performance, the CEPC can explore beauty and $\textit{τ}$ physics in ways that are superior to or complementary with the Belle II and Large-Hadron-Collider-beauty experiments, potentially enabling the detection of new physics at energy scales of 10 TeV and above. This potential also extends to the observation of yet-to-be-discovered rare and exotic processes, as well as testing fundamental principles such as lepton flavor universality, lepton and baryon number conservation, etc., making the CEPC a vibrant platform for flavor physics research. The $\textit{WW}$ threshold scan, Higgs-factory operation and top-pair productions of the CEPC further enhance its merits in this regard, especially for measuring the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix elements, and Flavor-Changing-Neutral-Current physics of Higgs boson and top quarks. We outline the requirements for detector performance and considerations for future development to achieve the anticipated scientific goals. The role of machine learning for innovative detector design and advanced reconstruction algorithms is also stressed. The CEPC flavor physics program not only develops new capabilities for exploring flavor physics beyond existing projects but also enriches the physics opportunities of this machine. It should be remarked that, given the richness of the CEPC flavor physics, this manuscript is not meant to be a comprehensive survey, but rather an investigation of representative cases. Uncovering the full potential of flavor physics at the CEPC will require further dedicated explorations in the future.

We study the sphere partition function of 3d $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 2 holographic SCFTs arising on the worldvolume of $\textit{N}$ coincident M2-branes in the presence of squashing and real mass deformations. We argue that the all-order large $\textit{N}$ perturbative expansion of the partition function resums into a compact expression in terms of an Airy function. We provide ample evidence for this conjecture using numerical methods, saddle point analysis in the ’t Hooft limit, and the relation of the squashed sphere partition function to the Cardy-like limit of the superconformal index. We also discuss the relation of our results to topological string theory and the statistical mechanics of Fermi gases. Our conjecture has a bearing on the AdS/CFT correspondence and the structure of perturbative M-theory corrections to 11d supergravity which we discuss.

An Airy tale at large $\textit{N}$

General one-loop formulas for loop-induced processes $gg/\gamma \gamma \rightarrow \phi_i\phi_j$ with $\phi_i\phi_j = hh,~hH,~HH$ are presented in this paper. The analytic expressions evaluated in this study are valid for a class of Higgs Extensions of the Standard Model, $\textit{e.g.,}$ Inert Doublet Higgs, Two Higgs Doublet, Zee-Babu, and Triplet Higgs Models$\textit{.}$ Analytic expressions for one-loop form factors are expressesd in terms of the basic scalar one-loop two-, three-, and four-point functions following the output format of the packages $ {\tt LoopTools}$ and $ {\tt Collier}$ . Hence, physical results can be evaluated numerically using one of these packages. The analytic results are tested using several checks such as the ultraviolet finiteness and infrared finiteness of the one-loop amplitudes. Furthermore, the amplitudes obey the ward identity due to massless gauge bosons in the initial states. This identity is also verified numerically. Regarding applications, we present the phenomenological results for the investigated processes in the Zee-Babu model as a typical example. In particular, production cross-sections for the processes $\gamma \gamma\rightarrow hh$ are scanned over the parameter space of the Zee-Babu Model.

We undertake a comprehensive analysis of the supersymmetric partition function of the U($\textit{N}$) × U($\textit{N}$) ABJM theory on a U(1) fibration over a Riemann surface, evaluating it to all orders in the 1$\textit{/N}$-perturbative expansion up to exponentially suppressed corrections. Through holographic duality, our perturbatively exact result is successfully matched with the regularized on-shell action of a dual Euclidean AdS -Taub-Bolt background incorporating 4-derivative corrections, and also provides valuable insights into the logarithmic corrections that emerge from the 1-loop calculations in M-theory path integrals. In this process, we revisit the Euclidean AdS -Taub-Bolt background carefully, elucidating the flat connection in the background graviphoton field. This analysis umambiguously determines the U(1) holonomy along the Seifert fiber, thereby solidifying the holographic comparison regarding the partition function on a large subclass of Seifert manifolds.

Perturbatively exact supersymmetric partition functions of ABJM theory on Seifert manifolds and holography

We study the superconformal index of 3d   <math> <mi>N</mi> </math>  $$ \mathcal{N} $$  = 2 superconformal field theories on S 1 × ω  S 2 in the Cardy-like limit where the radius of the S 1 is much smaller than that of the S 2. We show that the first two leading terms in this Cardy-like expansion are dictated by the Bethe Ansatz formulation of the topologically twisted index of the same theory. We apply this relation to 3d   <math> <mi>N</mi> </math>  $$ \mathcal{N} $$  = 2 holographic superconformal field theories describing the low-energy dynamics of N M2-branes and derive closed form expressions, valid to all orders in the 1/N expansion, for the two leading terms in the Cardy-like expansion of the superconformal index. We also discuss the implications of our results for the entropy of supersymmetric Kerr-Newman black holes in AdS4 and the four-derivative corrections to 4d gauged supergravity.

Superconformal indices of 3d   <math> <mi>N</mi> </math>  $$ \mathcal{N} $$  = 2 SCFTs and holography

We investigate the 3-sphere partition functions of various 3d   <math> <mi>N</mi> </math>  $$ \mathcal{N} $$  = 2 holographic SCFTs arising from the N stack of M2-branes in the ’t Hooft limit both analytically and numerically. We first employ a saddle point approximation to evaluate the free energy F = – log Z at the planar level, tracking the first subleading corrections in the large ’t Hooft coupling λ expansion. Subsequently, we improve these results by determining the planar free energy to all orders in the large λ expansion via numerical analysis. Remarkably, the resulting planar free energies turn out to take a universal form, supporting a prediction that these S 3 partition functions are all given in terms of an Airy function even beyond the special cases where the Airy formulae were derived analytically in the literature; in this context we also present new Airy conjectures in several examples. The subleading behaviors we captured encode a part of quantum corrections to the M-theory path integrals around dual asymptotically Euclidean AdS4 backgrounds with the corresponding internal manifolds through holographic duality.

Subleading analysis for S 3 partition functions of   <math> <mi>N</mi> </math>  $$ \mathcal{N} $$  = 2 holographic SCFTs

We study the logarithmic corrections to various CFT partition functions in the context of the AdS4/CFT3 correspondence for theories arising on the worldvolume of M2-branes. We utilize four-dimensional gauged supergravity and heat kernel methods and present general expressions for the logarithmic corrections to the gravitational on-shell action and black hole entropy for a number of different supergravity backgrounds. We outline several subtle features of these calculations and contrast them with a similar analysis of logarithmic corrections performed directly in the eleven-dimensional uplift of a given four-dimensional supergravity background. We find results consistent with AdS/CFT provided that the infinite sum over KK modes on the internal space is regularized in a specific manner. This analysis leads to an explicit expression for the logarithmic correction to the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy of large Kerr-Newmann and Reissner-Nordström black holes in AdS4. Our results also have important implications for effective field theory coupled to gravity in AdS4 and for the existence of scale-separated AdS4 vacua in string theory, which come in the form of new constraints on the field content and mass spectrum of matter fields.

A compendium of logarithmic corrections in AdS/CFT

We use holography in conjunction with recent results from supersymmetric localization to compute certain thermal observables for 3d   <math> <mi>N</mi> </math>  $$ \mathcal{N} $$  = 2 holographic SCFTs arising on the worldvolume of N M2-branes. We obtain results for the thermal free energy density on S 1 × ℝ 2, the Casimir energy on T 2 × ℝ, and the three leading coefficients in the large temperature limit of the free energy on S 1 × S 2 valid to subleading order in the large N limit. As a byproduct of our holographic analysis we also present a conjecture for the structure of the large temperature expansion of the thermal free energy of general 3d CFTs on S 1 × S 2.
