Using the data samples of 102 million Υ(1$\textit{S}$) and 158 million Υ(2$\textit{S}$) events collected by the Belle detector, we search for a pentaquark state in the $\textit{pJ/ψ}$ final state from Υ(1$\textit{,}$ 2$\textit{S}$) inclusive decays. Here, the charge-conjugate $$\overline{p }J/\psi $$ is included. We observe clear $\textit{pJ/ψ}$ production in Υ(1$\textit{,}$ 2$\textit{S}$) decays and measure the branching fractions to be $$\mathcal{B}[\Upsilon (1S)\to pJ/\psi +anything]=[8.1\pm 0.6(stat.)\pm 0.5(syst.)]\times {10}^{-5}$$ and $$\mathcal{B}[\Upsilon (2S)\to pJ/\psi +anything]=[4.3\pm 0.5(stat.)\pm 0.4(syst.)]\times {10}^{-5}$$ . We also measure the cross section of inclusive $\textit{pJ/ψ}$ production in $\textit{e}$ $\textit{e}$ annihilation to be $\textit{σ}$($\textit{e}$ $\textit{e}$ → $\textit{pJ/ψ}$ + $\textit{anything}$) = [108 ± 11($\textit{stat.}$) ± 6($\textit{syst.}$)] fb at $$\sqrt{s}=10.52$$ GeV using an 89$\textit{.}$5 fb continuum data sample. There is no significant $\textit{P}$ (4312) , $\textit{P}$ (4440) or $\textit{P}$ (4457) signal found in the $\textit{pJ/ψ}$ final states in Υ(1$\textit{,}$ 2$\textit{S}$) inclusive decays. We determine the upper limits of $$\mathcal{B}\left[\Upsilon \left({1},{2}S\right)\to {P}_{c}^{+}+anything\right]\cdot \mathcal{B}\left({P}_{c}^{+}\to pJ/\psi \right)$$ to be at the 10 level.

Search for a pentaquark state decaying into $\textit{pJ/ψ}$ in Υ(1$\textit{,}$ 2$\textit{S}$) inclusive decays at Belle

<p>We report the first observation of the two-body baryonic decays <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mi>B</mi><mo>+</mo></msup><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><msub><mi mathvariant="normal">Σ</mi><mi>c</mi></msub><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>2455</mn><msup><mo stretchy="false">)</mo><mrow><mo>+</mo><mo>+</mo></mrow></msup><msubsup><mover accent="true"><mi mathvariant="normal">Ξ</mi><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mover><mi>c</mi><mo>−</mo></msubsup></math> and <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mi>B</mi><mn>0</mn></msup><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><msub><mi mathvariant="normal">Σ</mi><mi>c</mi></msub><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>2455</mn><msup><mo stretchy="false">)</mo><mn>0</mn></msup><msubsup><mover accent="true"><mi mathvariant="normal">Ξ</mi><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mover><mi>c</mi><mn>0</mn></msubsup></math> with significances of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mn>7.3</mn><mi>σ</mi></math> and <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mn>6.2</mn><mi>σ</mi></math>, respectively, including statistical and systematic uncertainties. The first and second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively, while the third ones arise from the absolute branching fractions of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msubsup><mover accent="true"><mi mathvariant="normal">Ξ</mi><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mover><mi>c</mi><mo>−</mo></msubsup></math> or <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msubsup><mover accent="true"><mi mathvariant="normal">Ξ</mi><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mover><mi>c</mi><mn>0</mn></msubsup></math> decays. The data samples used for this analysis have integrated luminosities of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mn>711</mn><mtext> </mtext><mtext> </mtext><msup><mi>fb</mi><mrow><mo>−</mo><mn>1</mn></mrow></msup></math> and <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mn>365</mn><mtext> </mtext><mtext> </mtext><msup><mi>fb</mi><mrow><mo>−</mo><mn>1</mn></mrow></msup></math>, and were collected at the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi mathvariant="normal">ϒ</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>4</mn><mi>S</mi><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> resonance by the Belle and Belle II detectors operating at the KEKB and SuperKEKB asymmetric-energy <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mi>e</mi><mo>+</mo></msup><msup><mi>e</mi><mo>−</mo></msup></math> colliders, respectively.</p>

<p>An axionlike particle <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>a</mi></math> (ALP) can explain the excess of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>B</mi><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><mi>K</mi><mo>+</mo><mtext>invisible</mtext></math> events at Belle II. However, many analyses of ALP scenarios are oversimplified. We revisit the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>B</mi><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><mi>K</mi><mi>a</mi></math> transition rate in a popular minimal and UV complete model with two Higgs doublets (2HDM) and a complex singlet [Dine-Fischler-Srednicki-Zhitnitsky (DFSZ) model]. To this end we compare our results with previous studies which derived the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mover accent="true"><mi>b</mi><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mover><mi>s</mi><mi>a</mi></math> vertex from the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mover accent="true"><mi>b</mi><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mover><mi>s</mi><mi>A</mi></math> vertex, where <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>A</mi></math> is the heavy pseudoscalar of the 2HDM, in terms of an <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>a</mi><mo>−</mo><mi>A</mi></math> mixing angle. We find this approach to work only at the leading one-loop order, while it fails at the two-loop level. Furthermore, while an approximate <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>Z</mi><mn>2</mn></msub></math> symmetry suppresses the leading-order amplitude by a factor of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mn>1</mn><mo>/</mo><mi>tan</mi><mi>β</mi></math>, which is the ratio of the two vacuum expectation values of the Higgs doublets, we find the two-loop contribution unsuppressed and phenomenologically relevant for <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>tan</mi><mi>β</mi><mo>≳</mo><mn>5</mn></math>. We determine the allowed parameter space and underline the importance of better searches for <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><mi mathvariant="normal">ϒ</mi><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><mi>γ</mi><mo>+</mo><mi>invisible</mi></mrow></math> and for a possible excess in <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>B</mi><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><mi>K</mi><msup><mi>μ</mi><mo>+</mo></msup><msup><mi>μ</mi><mo>−</mo></msup></math>. We further study the low-energy axion effective theory which leads to a divergent and basis-dependent amplitude. As a conceptual result, we clarify the ambiguities and identify which low-energy framework is consistent with the DFSZ model.</p>

<math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>B</mi><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><mi>K</mi><mo>+</mo></math> axionlike particles: Effective versus UV-complete models and enhanced two-loop contributions

We present measurements of $\textit{B → K}$ (892)$\textit{γ}$ decays using 365 fb of data collected from 2019 to 2022 by the Belle II experiment at the SuperKEKB asymmetric-energy $\textit{e}$ $\textit{e}$ collider. The data sample contains (387 $\textit{±}$ 6) $\textit{×}$ 10 Υ(4$\textit{S}$) events. We measure branching fractions ( $$\mathcal{B}$$ ) and CP asymmetries ( $${\mathcal{A}}_{CP}$$ ) for both $\textit{B}$ $\textit{→ K}$ $\textit{γ}$ and $\textit{B}$ $\textit{→ K}$ $\textit{γ}$ decays. The difference in CP asymmetries ( $$\Delta {\mathcal{A}}_{CP}$$ ) and the isospin asymmetry (∆ ) between these neutral and charged channels are also measured. We obtain the following branching fractions and $\textit{CP}$ asymmetries: $$\mathcal{B}\left({B}^{0}\to {K}^{*0}\gamma \right)=\left(4.14\pm 0.10\pm 0.11\right)\times {10}^{-5}$$ , $$\mathcal{B}\left({B}^{+}\to {K}^{*+}\gamma \right)=\left(4.04\pm {0.13}_{-0.15}^{+0.13}\right)\times {10}^{-5}$$ , $${\mathcal{A}}_{CP}\left({B}^{0}\to {K}^{*0}\gamma \right)=\left(-3.3\pm 2.3\pm 0.4\right)\%$$ , and $${\Delta}{\mathcal{A}}_{CP}\left({B}^{+}\to {K}^{*+}\gamma \right)=\left(-0.7\pm 2.9\pm 0.5\right)\%$$ . The measured difference in $\textit{CP}$ asymmetries is $${\Delta}{\mathcal{A}}_{CP}=\left(+{2}.{6}\pm {3}.{8}\pm 0.{6}\right)\%$$ , and the measured isospin asymmetry is ∆ = (+4.8 ± 2.0 ± 1.8)%. The first uncertainties listed are statistical and the second are systematic. These results are consistent with world-average values and theory predictions.
