In this study, we investigate the possibility of enhancing the di-jet resonance searches by tagging the final state radiation (FSR) jet using an event-level deep neural network. It is found that solely relying on the 4-momenta of the leading three jets allows the algorithm to achieve good discriminating power that can identify the hardest FSR jet in the signal while rejecting other soft jets. Once the invariant mass is corrected with the tagged FSR jet, the mass resolution of the signal is greatly enhanced, and the sensitivity of the search is also improved by more than 10%. By crafting the input variables carefully, the algorithm introduces minimal mass sculpting for the background, and its applicability extends to a broad mass range. This work proves that FSR jet tagging can potentially enhance di-jet resonance searches, suiting various stages of the physics programmes at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and High-Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC).

The last few years have been witness to a proliferation of new results concerning heavy exotic hadrons. Experimentally, many new signals have been discovered that could be pointing towards the existence of tetraquarks, pentaquarks, and other exotic configurations of quarks and gluons. Theoretically, advances in lattice field theory techniques place us at the cusp of understanding complex coupled-channel phenomena, modelling grows more sophisticated, and effective field theories are being applied to an ever greater range of situations. It is thus an opportune time to evaluate the status of the field. In the following, a series of high priority experimental and theoretical issues concerning heavy exotic hadrons is presented.

Astrophysical observations have put unprecedentedly tight constraints on cosmological theories. The Λ CDM model, mathematically simple and fits observational data sets well, is preferred for explaining the behavior of universe. But many basic features of the dark sectors are still unknown, which leaves room for various nonstandard cosmological hypotheses. As the pressure of the cosmological constant dark energy is unvarying, ignoring contributions from radiation and curvature terms at low redshift, the effective pressure keeps constant. In this paper, we propose two parametric models for a non-constant effective pressure in order to study the tiny deviation from Λ CDM at low redshift. We recover our phenomenological models in the scenarios of quintessence and phantom fields, and we explore the behavior of the scalar field and potential. We constrain our model parameters with SNe Ia and BAO observations, and we detect subtle hints of ωde&lt;-1 from the data-fitting results of both models, which indicates possibly a phantom dark energy scenario at present.
