In arXiv:2306.17553 a new supersymmetric integrable QFT was constructed from the relativistic limit of the worldsheet theory of AdS × S ×T superstrings with mixed Ramond-Ramond and Neveu-Schwarz-Neveu-Schwarz flux. The model is closely reminiscent of one previously considered by Fendley and Intriligator, though it enjoys twice as many supersymmetries. In this paper we study its finite-volume and finite-temperature properties. We formulate the string hypothesis for the Bethe-Yang equations, write down the thermodynamic Bethe ansatz equations, and simplify them in the form of a Y-system. We obtain three decoupled sectors associated with massive, massless-chiral and massless-antichiral particles, for which we compute the UV central charge. We illustrate the similarities and differences between this model and the one of Fendley and Intriligator.

Thermodynamics of integrable $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 2 theories, squared

By extending the six-dimensional hybrid formalism for the superstring to include $\textit{d}$ = 6 $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 1 superspace variables along with unconstrained bosonic ghost fields, we construct a manifestly spacetime supersymmetric vertex operator $\textit{U}$. We demonstrate that the BRST invariance of $\textit{U}$ implies the $\textit{d}$ = 6 $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 1 SYM equations of motion in superspace. Furthermore, we show that spacetime supersymmetric scattering amplitudes can be computed in a manner analogous to that of the non-minimal pure spinor formalism.

Vertex operators for the superstring with manifest $\textit{d}$ = 6 $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 1 supersymmetry

We study large $\textit{N}$ phase transitions in $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 2 theories with gauge group SU($\textit{N}$) and massive hypermultiplets in diverse representations. Using supersymmetric localization we identify cases where phase transitions occur. In particular, we consider deformations of UV superconformal fixed points by giving two different masses to the fundamental hypermultiplets, and show that these theories undergo a third-order phase transition at a critical value of the ’t Hooft coupling. This provides the first example of a phase transition driven by a mass deformation of a $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 2 superconformal field theory. We also comment on integrated correlators in these theories.

Using the Riemann-Hilbert method, the paper systematically investigates the <italic>n</italic>-component generalized Sasa-Satsuma system. By utilizing the Tu scheme, we systematically construct the <italic>n</italic>-component generalized Sasa-Satsuma integrable hierarchy, and obtain the Lax pair of the <italic>n</italic>-component generalized Sasa-Satsuma system. Then we give the spectral analysis of the Lax pair, from which a Riemann-Hilbert problem is formulated. Moreover, by solving the particular Riemann-Hilbert problem with vanishing scattering coefficients, <italic>N</italic>-soliton solutions are obtained for the <italic>n</italic>-component generalized Sasa-Satsuma system. Furthermore, for <math altimg='si1.svg'><mi>n</mi><mo linebreak='goodbreak' linebreakstyle='after'>=</mo><mn>3</mn></math>, we graphically present the structures of the single-soliton and double-soliton solutions by selecting appropriate parameters.

The N-soliton solutions of the <italic>n</italic>-component generalized Sasa-Satsuma system: Riemann-Hilbert method

<math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mrow><mi>JSNS</mi></mrow><mn>2</mn></msup></math> (J-PARC Sterile Neutrino Search at J-PARC Spallation Neutron Source) is an experiment searching for sterile neutrinos through the observation of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mover accent="true"><mi>ν</mi><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mover><mi>μ</mi></msub><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><msub><mover accent="true"><mi>ν</mi><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mover><mi>e</mi></msub></math> appearance oscillations, using neutrinos produced by muon decay-at-rest. A key aspect of the experiment involves accurately understanding the neutrino flux and the quantities of pions and muons, which are progenitors of (anti)neutrinos, given that their production rates have yet to be measured. In this work, we revisit the exact computation of the round sphere partition function of 3d <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi mathvariant="script">N</mi><mo>=</mo><mn>4</mn></math> circular quiver Chern-Simons theories with mass and Fayet-Iliopoulos (FI) deformations. Utilizing the Fermi gas formalism, we derive the large <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>N</mi></math> expansion of the partition function and determine the Airy function structure, parametrized by three functions <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>C</mi></math>, <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>B</mi></math>, and <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>A</mi></math>. We propose a novel closed-form expression for <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>A</mi></math> that incorporates the effects of FI parameters and satisfies various consistency constraints from quiver reductions. As an application, by using an accidental coincidence of the Fermi gas density matrices we extend our results to the squashed sphere partition function of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi mathvariant="script">N</mi><mo>=</mo><mn>4</mn></math> super Yang-Mills theories with an adjoint hypermultiplet and multiple fundamental hypermultiplets. Our findings provide further evidence for the universality of the Airy function structure in supersymmetric gauge theories of multiple M2-branes.

We propose a GeV-scale self-interacting dark matter (SIDM) candidate within a dark <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><mi>U</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>1</mn><msub><mrow><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></mrow><mrow><mi>D</mi></mrow></msub></mrow></math> gauged extension of the Standard Model (SM), addressing small-scale structure issues in <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi mathvariant="normal">Λ</mi><mi>CDM</mi></math> while predicting an observable contribution to <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi mathvariant="normal">Δ</mi><msub><mi>N</mi><mi>eff</mi></msub></math> in the form of dark radiation. The model introduces a fermionic DM candidate <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>χ</mi></math> and a scalar <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>ϕ</mi></math>, both charged under an unbroken <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>U</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>1</mn><msub><mo stretchy="false">)</mo><mi>D</mi></msub></math> gauge symmetry. The self-interactions of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>χ</mi></math> are mediated by a light vector boson <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mi>X</mi><mi>μ</mi></msup></math>, whose mass is generated via the Stueckelberg mechanism. The relic abundance of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>χ</mi></math> is determined by thermal freeze-out through annihilations into <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mi>X</mi><mi>μ</mi></msup></math>, supplemented by a nonthermal component from the late decay of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>ϕ</mi></math>. Crucially, <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>ϕ</mi></math> decays after the big bang nucleosynthesis (BBN) but before the cosmic microwave background (CMB) epoch, producing additional <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>χ</mi></math> and a dark radiation species (<math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>ν</mi><mi>S</mi></msub></math>). This late-time production compensates for thermal underabundance due to efficient annihilation into light mediators, while remaining consistent with structure formation constraints. The accompanying dark radiation yields a detectable <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi mathvariant="normal">Δ</mi><msub><mi>N</mi><mi>eff</mi></msub></math>, compatible with Planck 2018 bounds and within reach of next-generation experiments such as SPT-3G, CMB-S4, and CMB-HD.

Self-interacting dark matter with observable <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi mathvariant="normal">Δ</mi><msub><mi>N</mi><mi>eff</mi></msub></math>

We develop a new off-shell formulation for six-dimensional conformal supergravity obtained by gauging the 6D $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = (2, 0) superconformal algebra in superspace. We provide the complete gauged algebra, which proves to be considerably constrained compared to other conformal superspaces constructed in the past. This formulation is employed to obtain the unique 6D $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = (2, 0) Bach tensor superfield, which describes the multiplet of equations of motions for conformal supergravity, by using a general ansatz fixed by truncation to 6D $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = (1, 0) results. We also translate some results into components for precise matching against the literature.

Six-dimensional $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = (2, 0) conformal superspace

Correlations among conserved quantum numbers, such as the net-electric charge, the net-baryon, and the net-strangeness in heavy-ion collisions, are crucial for exploring the QCD phase diagram. In this paper, these correlations are investigated using net-proton number (as a proxy for the net-baryon), net-kaon number (for the net-strangeness), and net-charged particle number in Pb-Pb collisions at $$\sqrt{{s}_{\text{NN}}}$$ = 5$\textit{.}$02 TeV with the ALICE detector. The observed correlations deviate from the Poissonian baseline, with a more pronounced deviation at LHC energies than at RHIC. Theoretical calculations of the Thermal-FIST hadron resonance gas model, HIJING, and EPOS LHC event generators are compared with experimental results, where a significant impact of resonance decays is observed. Thermal-FIST calculations under the grand canonical and canonical ensembles highlight significant differences, underscoring the role of local charge conservation in explaining the data. Recent lattice QCD studies have demonstrated that the magnetic field generated by spectator protons in heavy-ion collisions affects susceptibility ratios, in particular those related to the net-electric charge and the net-baryon numbers. The experimental findings are in qualitative agreement with the expectations of lattice QCD.
