Hadron-hadron interactions, being nonperturbative in nature, play a significant role in addressing phenomenological questions in particle physics. Femtoscopy is a powerful tool in heavy-ion collision experiments, enabling the extraction of hadron-hadron interactions via momentum-correlation functions (CFs). These CFs are typically expressed as a convolution of source functions and hadron-hadron wave functions, with the latter encoding information about the interactions. However, source functions remain poorly constrained and are commonly approximated by a Gaussian form. Reconstructing source functions from experimental correlation data constitutes an 'inverse problem.' To address this, we propose a toy model based on Tikhonov regularization. Using a square-well potential with four distinct strengths, we calculate the CFs for inputs of single Gaussian source functions and mixed Gaussian source functions. The resulting CFs are then used to reconstruct the source functions via Tikhonov regularization. Our results show that the Gaussian source function can be successfully reconstructed, highlighting the potential of this approach for extracting realistic source functions from hadron pairs of interest.

This study investigates the ultraviolet realization of semileptonic four-fermion operator $ O_{ledq}^{\alpha \beta 11} $ that incorporates Majorana dark matter (DM) in both lepton-flavor-conserving (LFC) and lepton-flavor-violating (LFV) scenarios at the one-loop level via box diagram, thereby effectively alleviating the lower bounds on the new physics scale. In addition, we investigate the interplay between model-independent constraints on the Wilson coefficients and DM direct detection, relic density, and collider searches in the context of fermion portal DM model with two mediators. We found that both the projected future constraint on the LFC Wilson coefficient $ C_{ledq}^{2211}/\Lambda^2 \lt $ $ (12.3\; \text{TeV})^{-2} $ from the measurements of neutrino non-standard interaction in the next-generation neutrino oscillation experiments, and the LFV constraint $ C_{ledq}^{1211}/\Lambda^2 \lt \left(2.2\times 10^3\; \text{TeV} \right)^{-2} $ from ongoing charged-lepton-flavor-violation searches, provide a complementary exploration of the parameter space encompassing the DM and scalar masses. With a colored mediator mass of approximately $ 2\; \text{TeV} $ , the sensitivity of the indirect constraints on the four-fermion operator can surpass those of collider searches and DM direct detection, in scenarios where the masses of the DM and scalar are close. By ensuring the correct DM relic density, however, we find that the collider searches and DM direct detection are more sensitive to the electroweak-scale DM and scalar than indirect constraints.

Positive and negative flows of the Chen-Lee-Liu model and its various reductions, including Burgers hierarchy, are formulated within the framework of Riemann-Hilbert-Birkhoff decomposition with the constant grade two generator. Two classes of vacua, namely zero vacuum and constant non-zero vacuum can be realized within a centerless Heisenberg algebra. The tau functions for soliton solutions are obtained by a dressing method and vertex operators are constructed for both types of vacua. We are able to select and classify the soliton solutions in terms of the type of vertices involved. A judicious choice of vertices yields in a closed form a particular set of multi soliton solutions for the Burgers hierarchy. We develop and analyze a class of gauge-Bäcklund transformations that generate further multi soliton solutions from those obtained by dressing method by letting them interact with various integrable defects.

New soliton solutions for Chen-Lee-Liu and Burgers hierarchies and its Bäcklund transformations

<p>The mass of the lightest hadron in nature, the pion, is one seventh of that of the nucleon and one tenth of the mass of its first excited state, the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>π</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>1300</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math>. This enormous energy difference opens an interesting window into the confinement of quarks and the structure of the lightest hadrons. In this Letter, we provide the first calculation of resonance parameters of the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>π</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>1300</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> from lattice quantum chromodynamics (QCD). For this purpose, recently derived state-of-the-art tools are adapted and applied both in the construction of three-hadron operators and for mapping finite-volume spectra to infinite-volume amplitudes, subsequently analytically continuing these to complex energies. For our heavy pion mass ensembles, we find a clear signal of the resonance. Making a simple assumption of vanishing pion mass dependence for the three-body force, but incorporating constraints from Chiral Perturbation Theory for all the two-body channels, enables a robust extrapolation to the physical point. Applying model averaging, we extract a pole position of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><msub><mrow><mi>M</mi></mrow><mrow><mi>π</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>1300</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></mrow></msub><mo>=</mo><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>1169</mn><mo>±</mo><mn>46</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo><mo>−</mo><mi>i</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><msubsup><mrow><mn>62</mn></mrow><mrow><mo>−</mo><mn>62</mn></mrow><mrow><mo>+</mo><mn>168</mn></mrow></msubsup><mo stretchy="false">)</mo><mtext> </mtext><mtext> </mtext><mi>MeV</mi></mrow></math> supporting values from phenomenology.</p>

Emergence of the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>π</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>1300</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> Resonance from Lattice QCD

In this study, we investigate the possibility of enhancing the di-jet resonance searches by tagging the final state radiation (FSR) jet using an event-level deep neural network. It is found that solely relying on the 4-momenta of the leading three jets allows the algorithm to achieve good discriminating power that can identify the hardest FSR jet in the signal while rejecting other soft jets. Once the invariant mass is corrected with the tagged FSR jet, the mass resolution of the signal is greatly enhanced, and the sensitivity of the search is also improved by more than 10%. By crafting the input variables carefully, the algorithm introduces minimal mass sculpting for the background, and its applicability extends to a broad mass range. This work proves that FSR jet tagging can potentially enhance di-jet resonance searches, suiting various stages of the physics programmes at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and High-Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC).

We perform a lattice QCD calculation of the $\textit{S}$-wave interactions between the ground-state spin-1$\textit{/}$2 doubly charmed baryons and Goldstone bosons. The lattice QCD simulations are carried out on four 2 + 1 flavor Wilson-Clover ensembles generated by the CLQCD collaboration, with a lattice spacing $\textit{a}$ = 0$\textit{.}$07746 fm and two different pion masses, $\textit{M}$ ~ 210 and ~ 300 MeV. Energy levels are extracted for four single channels, $$ {\varOmega}_{cc}{\overline{K}}^{\left(-2,1/2\right)} $$ , Ξ $\textit{K}$ , Ξ $\textit{K}$ , and Ξ , where the superscripts ($\textit{S, I}$) denote strangeness $\textit{S}$ and isospin $\textit{I}$. Our results indicate that the Ξ $\textit{K}$ channel is attractive, exhibiting negative energy shifts relative to the non-interacting two-hadron thresholds, while the other three channels are repulsive. Using Lüscher’s finite-volume formula, we extract the near-threshold phase shifts and determine the $\textit{S}$-wave scattering lengths. Furthermore, a virtual state pole is found in the Ξ $\textit{K}$ scattering amplitude. These results provide $\textit{ab initio}$ input to enable high-precision studies of the properties and spectroscopy of doubly heavy baryons.

Low-energy interactions between doubly charmed baryons and Goldstone bosons from lattice QCD

Heavy Majorana neutrinos ($\textit{N}$) are predicted in many models of physics beyond the Standard Model. In this work, we explore the production and detection prospects of TeV-scale heavy neutrinos ( $ m_N \gtrsim 1 $ TeV) at a future 3 TeV Compact Linear Collider (CLIC). We focus on two distinct decay topologies: (i) $ N \to \ell^\pm W^\mp $ with hadronic $\textit{W}$ boson decay, leading to a final state with one charged lepton and a hadronic fat jet $ J_W $ ; and (ii) $ N \to \nu h $ with subsequent Higgs decay $ h \to b\bar{b} $ , yielding a Higgs-tagged fat jet $ J_h $ and $\not {E}_T$ . Based on comprehensive detector-level simulations and background analysis, we present both $ 2\sigma $ exclusion limits and $ 5\sigma $ discovery reaches in the $ m_N $ – $ |V_{\ell N}|^2 $ plane. We further extract 95% confidence level upper limits on the mixing parameter $ |V_{\ell N}|^2 $ and perform a detailed comparison with existing constraints from direct searches at future colliders and indirect global fits. Our findings demonstrate that a 3 TeV CLIC can improve the sensitivity to $ |V_{\ell N}|^2 $ by about two orders of magnitude compared with the projected reaches of future hadron colliders while remaining competitive with other CLIC search channels.

We present a systematic method for constructing lattice QCD operators for systems of an arbitrary number of particles with arbitrary momentum, spin, and internal quantum numbers. Explicit constructions are provided for one-, two-, three-, and four-hadron operators, covering all irreducible representations of the relevant lattice symmetry groups in both rest and moving frames. The construction procedure has been implemented in the open-source package OpTion (Operator construcTion), available at https://github.com/wittscien/OpTion. The paper and the package are designed to serve as a practical and extensible dictionary for future lattice QCD studies, as lattice calculations advance towards increasingly complex hadronic systems.

Construction of general $\textit{N}$-body lattice operators with arbitrary momenta

We study the inelastic charmonium ( $ J/\psi $ , $ \psi(2S) $ ) and bottomonium ( $ \Upsilon(nS) $ ) photoproduction and fragmentation processes in $\textit{p}$-$\textit{p}$ and $ \rm Pb$ - $\rm Pb$ collisions at LHC energies, where the ultra-incoherent photon emission is included. Using the NRQCD factorization approach, an exact treatment is developed. This approach recovers the Weizsäcker-Williams approximation (WWA) near the $ Q^{2}\sim0 $ region, where the Martin-Ryskin and BCCKL methods are used to avoid double counting. We calculated the $ Q^{2} $ , $\textit{y}$, $\textit{z}$, $ \sqrt{s} $ , and $ p_{T} $ dependent and total cross sections. Inelastic photoproduction and fragmentation were observed to contribute to heavy quarkonium production, particularly at large $ p_{T} $ . In addition, the contribution of the ultra-incoherent photon channel, which increases rapidly with quarkonium mass, is significant and begins to dominate the photoproduction processes for large $ p_{T} $ . We also obtained the complete WWA validity scopes of inelastic heavy quarkonium photoproduction in heavy-ion collisions. The WWA had high accuracy at high energies and for $\rm Pb $ - $\rm Pb $ collisions. However, current photon spectra are derived beyond the WWA scope, and double counting can occur when considering different channels simultaneously.

The neutrino floor, a theoretical sensitivity limit for dark matter (DM) direct detection, is being redefined as the boundary of a dynamic ''neutrino fog,'' where neutrino signals become inevitable, obscuring DM detection due to statistical and systematic uncertainties. This study provides the first site-specific analysis of the neutrino floor at China Jinping Underground Laboratory (CJPL), leveraging its unique geographic and environmental characteristics. We quantify how CJPL’s suppressed atmospheric neutrino flux (approximately 30% lower than that of Laboratori Nazionali del Gran Sasso (LNGS)) reshapes the neutrino floor, thereby enabling improved sensitivity to high-mass WIMPs (mass > 10 GeV). Using a gradient-based framework, we derive the CJPL’s neutrino floor and estimate the detection prospects for the PandaX-xT experiment. Our results demonstrate that a 500 tonne-year exposure with PandaX-xT could reach the floor, probing spin independent cross-sections down to $ \sigma_{n}\sim 3\times 10^{-49}\; {\rm{cm}}^2$ at a DM mass of 70 GeV/$\textit{c}$ $^{2}$.
