Comment on “Strong lensing and shadow of Ayon-Beato–Garcia (ABG) nonsingular black hole”

<p>We study Drell-Yan production in universal theories consistently including effects beyond dimension six in the Standard Model effective field theory (SMEFT). Within universal SMEFT and with <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>C</mi></math> and <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>P</mi></math> conservation we find that 11 dimension-eight operators contribute in addition to the six contributing at dimension six. We first work in an operator basis in which operators with higher derivatives of the bosonic fields have been rotated by equations of motion in favor of combinations of operators involving SM fermion currents. We derive the general form of the amplitudes consistently in the expansion to <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi mathvariant="script">O</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><msup><mi mathvariant="normal">Λ</mi><mrow><mo>−</mo><mn>4</mn></mrow></msup><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> and identify eight combinations of the 17 Wilson coefficients which are physically distinguishable by studying the invariant mass distribution of the lepton pairs produced. We then introduce an extension of the parametrization of universal effects in terms of oblique parameters obtained by linearly expanding the self-energies of the electroweak gauge bosons to <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi mathvariant="script">O</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><msup><mi>q</mi><mn>6</mn></msup><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math>. It contains 11 oblique parameters of which only eight are generated within SMEFT at dimension eight: <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mover accent="true"><mi>S</mi><mo stretchy="false">^</mo></mover></math>, <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mover accent="true"><mi>T</mi><mo stretchy="false">^</mo></mover></math>, <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>W</mi></math>, <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>Y</mi></math>, <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mover accent="true"><mi>U</mi><mo stretchy="false">^</mo></mover></math>, <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>X</mi></math>, plus two additional which we label <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mi>W</mi><mo>′</mo></msup></math> and <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mi>Y</mi><mo>′</mo></msup></math> and show how they match at linear order with the eight identified combinations of operator coefficients. We then perform a combined analysis of a variety of LHC data on the neutral- and charged-current Drell-Yan processes with the aim of constraining the eight combinations. We compare and combine the LHC bounds with those from electroweak precision <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>W</mi></math> and <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>Z</mi></math> pole observables which can only provide constraints in four directions of the eight-parameter space. We present the results in terms of limits on the eight effective Wilson coefficients as well as on the eight oblique parameters. In each case, we study the dependence of the derived constraints on the order of the expansion considered.</p>

Drell-Yan production in universal theories beyond dimension-six SMEFT

We perform a global analysis of most up-to-date solar neutrino data and KamLAND reactor antineutrino data in the framework of the 3+1 sterile neutrino mixing scenario (invoked to explain the results of the Gallium source experiments) with the aim of quantifying the dependence of the (in)compatibility of the required mixing with assumptions on the initial fluxes. The analysis of solar data is performed in two alternative ways: using the flux predicted by the latest standard solar models, and in a model independent approach where the solar fluxes are also determined by the fit. The dependence on the normalization of the capture rate in the solar Gallium experiments is also quantified. Similarly, in the KamLAND analysis we consider both the case where the reactor flux normalization is assumed to be known <italic>a priori</italic>, as well as a normalization free case which relies solely on available neutrino data. Using a parameter goodness of fit test, we find that in most cases the compatibility between Gallium and solar+KamLAND data only occur at the 3 <italic>&#963;</italic> level or higher. We also discuss the implications of enforcing better compatibility by tweaking the mechanism for the energy production in the Sun.

Solar model independent constraints on the sterile neutrino interpretation of the Gallium Anomaly

We study nonsingular black holes viewed from the point of view of Ayon-Beato–Garcia (ABG) nonlinear electrodynamics (NLED) and present a complete study of their corresponding strong gravitational lensing. The NLED modifies the the photon’s geodesic, and our calculations show that such effect increases the corresponding photon sphere radius and image separation, but decreases the magnification. We also show that the ABG’s shadow radius is not compatible with bound estimates of Sgr A* from Keck and VLTI (Very Large Telescope Interferometer). Thus, the possibility of Sgr A* being a nonsingular ABG black hole is ruled out.

Strong lensing and shadow of Ayon-Beato–Garcia (ABG) nonsingular black hole

In this work, we study thermodynamics of generalized Ayon-Beato and Garcia (ABG) black hole metric which contains three parameters named as mass <math id="M1"><mi>m</mi></math>, magnetic charge <math id="M2"><mi>q</mi></math>, and dimensionless coupling constant of nonlinear electrodynamics interacting field <math id="M3"><mi>γ</mi></math>. We showed that central regions of this black hole behaves as dS (AdS) vacuum space by setting <math id="M4"><mi>q</mi><mo>&lt;</mo><mn>2</mn><mi>m</mi><mfenced><mrow><mi>q</mi><mo>&gt;</mo><mn>2</mn><mi>m</mi></mrow></mfenced></math> and in the case <math id="M5"><mi>q</mi><mo>=</mo><mn>2</mn><mi>m</mi></math> reaches to a flat Minkowski space. In the large distances, this black hole behaves as a Reissner-Nordstrom BH. However, an important role of the charge<math id="M6"><mi>q</mi></math> appeared in the production of a formal variable cosmological parameter which will support pressure coordinate in the thermodynamic perspective of this black hole in our setup. We should point that this formal variable cosmological parameter is different with cosmological constant which comes from AdS/CFT correspondence, and it is effective at large distances as AdS space pressure. In our setup, the assumed pressure originated from the internal material of the black hole say <math id="M7"><mi>q</mi></math> and <math id="M8"><mi>m</mi></math> here. By calculating the Hawking temperature of this black hole, we obtain equation of state. Then, we plotted isothermal P-V curves and heat capacity at constant pressure. They show that the system participates in the small to large phase transition of the black hole or the Hawking-Page phase transition which is similar to the van der Waals phase transition in the ordinary thermodynamics systems. In fact in the Hawking-Page phase transition disequilibrium, evaporating generalized ABG black hole reaches to a vacuum AdS space finally.

Thermodynamic Phase Transition of Generalized Ayon-Beato Garcia Black Holes

Our herein described combined analysis of the latest neutrino oscillation data presented at the Neutrino2020 conference shows that previous hints for the neutrino mass ordering have significantly decreased, and normal ordering (NO) is favored only at the 1.6σ level. Combined with the χ 2 map provided by Super-Kamiokande for their atmospheric neutrino data analysis the hint for NO is at 2.7σ. The CP conserving value δ CP = 180° is within 0.6σ of the global best fit point. Only if we restrict to inverted mass ordering, CP violation is favored at the ∼ 3σ level. We discuss the origin of these results — which are driven by the new data from the T2K and NOvA long-baseline experiments —, and the relevance of the LBL-reactor oscillation frequency complementarity. The previous 2.2σ tension in ∆m 2 21 preferred by KamLAND and solar experiments is also reduced to the 1.1σ level after the inclusion of the latest Super-Kamiokande solar neutrino results. Finally we present updated allowed ranges for the oscillation parameters and for the leptonic Jarlskog determinant from the global analysis.

The fate of hints: updated global analysis of three-flavor neutrino oscillations

Coherent Elastic neutrino-Nucleus Scattering (CE NS), a process recently measured for the first time at ORNL’s Spallation Neutron Source, is directly sensitive to the weak form factor of the nucleus. The European Spallation Source (ESS), presently under construction, will generate the most intense pulsed neutrino flux suitable for the detection of CE NS. In this paper we quantify its potential to determine the root mean square radius of the point-neutron distribution, for a variety of target nuclei and a suite of detectors. To put our results in context we also derive, for the first time, a constraint on this parameter from the analysis of the energy and timing data of the CsI detector at the COHERENT experiment.

Determining the nuclear neutron distribution from Coherent Elastic neutrino-Nucleus Scattering: current results and future prospects

The European Spallation Source (ESS), presently well on its way to completion, will soon provide the most intense neutron beams for multi-disciplinary science. Fortuitously, it will also generate the largest pulsed neutrino flux suitable for the detection of Coherent Elastic Neutrino-Nucleus Scattering (CEνNS), a process recently measured for the first time at ORNL’s Spallation Neutron Source. We describe innovative detector technologies maximally able to profit from the order-of-magnitude increase in neutrino flux provided by the ESS, along with their sensitivity to a rich particle physics phenomenology accessible through high-statistics, precision CEνNS measurements.

Coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering at the European Spallation Source

We perform a global fit to neutrino oscillation and coherent neutrino-nucleus scattering data, using both timing and energy information from the COHERENT experiment. The results are used to set model-independent bounds on four-fermion effective operators inducing non-standard neutral-current neutrino interactions. We quantify the allowed ranges for their Wilson coefficients, as well as the status of the LMA-D solution, for a wide class of new physics models with arbitrary ratios between the strength of the operators involving up and down quarks. Our results are presented for the COHERENT experiment alone, as well as in combination with the global data from oscillation experiments. We also quantify the dependence of our results for COHERENT with respect to the choice of quenching factor, nuclear form factor, and the treatment of the backgrounds.

Improved global fit to Non-Standard neutrino Interactions using COHERENT energy and timing data
