We study numerical solutions corresponding to spherically symmetric gravitating electroweak monopole and magnetically charged black holes of the Einstein–Weinberg–Salam theory. The gravitating electroweak monopole solutions are quite identical to the gravitating monopole solution in SU(2) Einstein–Yang–Mills–Higgs theory, but with distinctive characteristics. We also found solutions representing radially excited monopole, which has no counterpart in flat space. Both of these solutions exist up to a maximal gravitational coupling before they cease to exist. Lastly we also report on magnetically charged non-Abelian black holes solutions that is closely related to the regular monopole solutions, which represents counterexample to the ‘no-hair’ conjecture.

Gravitating Cho–Maison monopole

Abstract We present exact solutions to the Cho–Maison magnetic monopole in a family of effective electroweak models that have a Bogomol’nyi–Prasad–Sommerfield limit. We find that the lower bound to the mass of the magnetic monopole is . We argue that this bound holds universally, not just in theories with a BPS limit.

BPS Cho–Maison monopole

The two-Higgs-doublet model (2HDM), as one of the simplest extensions of the Standard Model (SM), is obtained by adding another scalar doublet to the SM and is featured by a pair of charged Higgs, which could affect many low-energy processes. In the “Higgs basis” for a generic 2HDM, only one scalar doublet gets a nonzero vacuum expectation value and, under the criterion of minimal flavor violation, the other one is fixed to be either color-singlet or color-octet, which are named as type III and type C 2HDM, respectively. In this paper, we study the charged-Higgs effects of these two models on the <math id="M2"><msup><mrow><mi>K</mi></mrow><mrow><mn>0</mn></mrow></msup><mo>-</mo><msup><mrow><mover><mrow><mi>K</mi></mrow><mo>¯</mo></mover></mrow><mrow><mn>0</mn></mrow></msup></math> mixing, an ideal process to probe New Physics (NP) beyond the SM. Firstly, we perform a complete one-loop computation of the box diagrams relevant to the <math id="M3"><msup><mrow><mi>K</mi></mrow><mrow><mn>0</mn></mrow></msup><mo>-</mo><msup><mrow><mover><mrow><mi>K</mi></mrow><mo>¯</mo></mover></mrow><mrow><mn>0</mn></mrow></msup></math> mixing, keeping the mass and momentum of the external strange quark up to the second order. Together with the up-to-date theoretical inputs, we then give a detailed phenomenological analysis, in the cases of both real and complex Yukawa couplings of the charged Higgs to quarks. The parameter spaces allowed by the current experimental data on the mass difference <math id="M4"><mi>Δ</mi><msub><mrow><mi>m</mi></mrow><mrow><mi>K</mi></mrow></msub></math> and the CP-violating parameter <math id="M5"><mrow><msub><mrow><mi>ϵ</mi></mrow><mrow><mi>K</mi></mrow></msub></mrow></math> are obtained and the differences between these two 2HDMs are investigated, which are helpful to distinguish them from each other from a phenomenological point of view.
