The three-dimensional classical <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><mi mathvariant="normal">O</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mi>N</mi><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></mrow></math> model with a boundary has received renewed interest due to the discovery of the extraordinary-log boundary universality class for <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><mn>2</mn><mo>≤</mo><mi>N</mi><mo>&lt;</mo><msub><mrow><mi>N</mi></mrow><mrow><mi>c</mi></mrow></msub></mrow></math>. The critical value <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>N</mi><mi>c</mi></msub></math> and the exponent of the boundary correlation function are related to certain amplitudes in the normal universality class. To determine their precise values, we revisit the 3D <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><mi mathvariant="normal">O</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mi>N</mi><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></mrow></math> boundary conformal field theory for <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><mi>N</mi><mo>=</mo><mn>1</mn></mrow></math>, 2, 3, 4, 5. After substantially improving the accuracy of the boundary bootstrap, our determinations are in excellent agreement with the Monte Carlo results, resolving the previous discrepancies due to low truncation orders. We also use the recent bulk bootstrap results to deduce highly accurate Ising data. Many bulk and boundary predictions are obtained for the first time. Our results demonstrate the great potential of the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>η</mi></math> minimization method for many unexplored bootstrap problems in which positivity constraints are absent.

Accurate Boundary Bootstrap for the Three-Dimensional <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><mi mathvariant="normal">O</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mi>N</mi><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></mrow></math> Normal Universality Class

Deuteron inelastic scattering on 14O was measured in inverse kinematics using an active-target time projection chamber and a magnetic spectrograph. The experimental technique enabled precise measurements of deuteron recoiling particles in coincidence with beam-like fragments detected in the spectrograph focal plane. The double differential cross section was reconstructed for scattering angles of 3&#8211;6 degrees and excitation energies up to 26 MeV. The monopole strength distribution was obtained from the data using a multipole decomposition analysis. The results were compared to quasiparticle random-phase approximation (QRPA) and generator coordinate method (GCM) calculations. The QRPA calculation accurately describes experimental data in the energy range of 13 to 26 MeV. GCM calculations assuming a <math altimg='si7.svg'><mrow><msup><mrow /><mn>12</mn></msup><mi mathvariant='normal'>C</mi><mrow><mo>(</mo><mrow><mi mathvariant='normal'>g</mi><mo>.</mo><mi mathvariant='normal'>s</mi><mo>.</mo></mrow><mo>)</mo></mrow><mo linebreak='goodbreak'>+</mo><mi>p</mi><mo linebreak='goodbreak'>+</mo><mi>p</mi></mrow></math> cluster configuration were used to determine the <math altimg='si1.svg'><msup><mn>0</mn><mo>+</mo></msup></math> strength in 14O below 13 MeV. The monopole transition strength of these cluster states provides a good description of the experimental distribution in the 9&#8211;11 MeV region, while the <math altimg='si2.svg'><msubsup><mn>0</mn><mn>2</mn><mo>+</mo></msubsup></math> state accounts for only a small fraction of the experimental strength around 6 MeV.

Investigation of the isoscalar monopole response in the proton-rich nucleus 14O

We present the analytic results for the non-singlet contributions to the three-loop mixed strong-electroweak $$ \mathcal{O}\left({\alpha}_s^2\alpha \right) $$ virtual corrections to the quark form factors. The primary challenge of this computation arises from the presence of massive vector bosons within the loops. This significantly increases the complexity of the integration-by-parts reduction of the scalar integrals and complicates their evaluation via the method of differential equations. To obtain the physical results, we perform the appropriate ultraviolet renormalization and subtract the universal infrared divergences. The resulting finite remainders are expressed in terms of Harmonic Polylogarithms and Generalized Polylogarithms.

$$ \mathcal{O}\left({\alpha}_s^2\alpha \right) $$ corrections to quark form factor

We focus on the use of the functional Wilsonian renormalization group framework characterized by a proper time regulator and test its use in the search of the scaling solutions and the critical properties of an $\textit{O}$($\textit{N}$)-invariant scalar field multiplet coupled to gravity in $$d=4$$ and $$d=3$$ dimensions. We employ the same background-fluctuation splitting and gauge fixing procedure, already adopted in a previous study based, instead, on the effective average action framework and a similar truncation of the effective action. Our main goal is to compare the results for the scaling solutions and some of the associated critical exponents. In this analysis, performed in a different framework, most of the picture previously uncovered is confirmed both at qualitative and quantitative level. There are, nevertheless, few differences both at finite $\textit{N}$ and in its large value limit, depending also on the schemes which in both frameworks are called “improved”.

Proper-time functional renormalization in $\textit{O}$($\textit{N}$) scalar models coupled to gravity

We derive the asymptotic lattice-spacing dependence $$a^2[2b_0\bar{g}^2(1/a)]^{\hat{\gamma }_i}$$ relevant for spectral quantities of lattice QCD, when using unrooted Staggered quarks. Without taking any effects from matching into account we find $$\min _i\hat{\gamma }_i\approx -0.273, -0.301, -0.913, -2.614$$ for $$N_\textrm{f}=0,4,8,12$$ respectively. Common statements in the literature on the absence of mass-dimension 5 operators from the on-shell basis of the Symanzik Effective Field Theory action are being clarified for a description using strictly local tastes, here playing the role of continuum quark flavours. Potential impact of $$\textrm{O}(a)$$ EOM-vanishing terms beyond spectral quantities is being discussed.

Logarithmic corrections to O( $$a^2$$ ) effects in lattice QCD with unrooted staggered quarks

We study the energy-momentum tensor of the spherically symmetric nontopological solitons of the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>O</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>3</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> nonlinear sigma model with a standard kinetic term and with a symmetry breaking potential in (<math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><mn>3</mn><mo>+</mo><mn>1</mn></mrow></math>)-dimensional flat spacetime. We evaluate the distributions of the corresponding energy density, shear forces, and pressure and study the stability criteria for these solutions. We argue that the presence of domains with negative energy density and violation of the energy conditions most likely do not lead to destabilization of solitons.

We investigate gravitational wave signals in a nonsupersymmetric grand unified model where the group <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>S</mi><mi>O</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>10</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> is broken in two steps to the Standard Model gauge group. We calculate the analytical form of the one-loop effective potential responsible for the first step of symmetry breaking and show that it can lead to a first-order phase transition with gravitational wave production. We also determine the gravitational wave background produced by the primordial plasma of relativistic particles. The present experimental sensitivity is still far from the expected signals but could be in reach of novel detector concepts.

Gravitational wave signals in a promising realization of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>S</mi><mi>O</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>10</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> unification

The reduced cross section of the semiexclusive <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mi>l</mi><mo>,</mo><msup><mi>l</mi><mo>′</mo></msup><mi>p</mi><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> lepton scattering process irrespective of the type of interaction is determined mainly by the bound nucleon momentum distribution in the target and nucleon final state interaction with the residual nucleus. These cross sections can be identified with distorted nuclear spectral functions and therefore, they are similar up to Coulomb corrections for neutrino and electron scattering on nuclei. In this article, we exploit this similarity and use data with precise kinematics and large statistics for semiexclusive electron scattering on an oxygen target to test models employed in the genie neutrino event generator. We find that these models cannot reproduce well the measured reduced cross sections in all allowed kinematic regions and the genie event generator needs to describe better both the nuclear ground states and nucleon final state interaction. The approach presented in this paper provides a great opportunity to better test the accuracy of nuclear models of quasielastic neutrino-nucleus scattering, employed in neutrino event generators.

In this paper, we study non-supersymmetric $\textit{AdS}$ × $\textit{S}$ vacuua of $\textit{O}$(16) × $\textit{O}$(16) heterotic theory on a string scale $\textit{T}$ background, which are parameterized by a pair of flux integers. Adding the one-loop scalar potential to the effective theory contributes positively to the cosmological constant, but we find that there is no uplift to de Sitter for any values of the fluxes. We study the fluctuations around these vacua and show that all scalar and tensor modes from the six-dimensional effective theory lie above the Breitenlohner-Freedman bound. The moduli coming from the torus compactification will also be above the bound, at least for a large range of fluxes.

$\textit{O}$(16) $\textit{× O}$(16) heterotic theory on $\textit{AdS}$ 3 $\textit{× S}$ 3 $\textit{× T}$ 4

We continue to explore the previously suggested dual regime of Yang-Baxter (YB) deformed <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi mathvariant="normal">O</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>2</mn><mi>N</mi><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> sigma models, which is a new one-parametric deformation of the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi mathvariant="normal">O</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>2</mn><mi>N</mi><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> model. It can be obtained from the conventional YB deformed <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi mathvariant="normal">O</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>2</mn><mi>N</mi><mo>+</mo><mn>2</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> sigma model by freezing two isometries. The scattering matrix in the nondeformed <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi mathvariant="normal">O</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mi>n</mi><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> model is known to coincide with the rational <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mrow><mi mathvariant="fraktur">so</mi></mrow><mi>n</mi></msub></math>-invariant <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>R</mi></math>-matrix. For <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>n</mi><mo>=</mo><mn>2</mn><mi>N</mi></math> this rational solution allows for two trigonometric deformations: the usual <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msubsup><mi>D</mi><mi>N</mi><mrow><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>1</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></mrow></msubsup></math> and the twisted <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msubsup><mi>D</mi><mi>N</mi><mrow><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>2</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></mrow></msubsup></math>. The usual one is known to coincide with the scattering matrix of the conventional YB-<math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi mathvariant="normal">O</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>2</mn><mi>N</mi><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> model. A natural question to ask is what sigma model corresponds to the twisted solution. In this work we claim that it is precisely our dual regime of YB-<math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi mathvariant="normal">O</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>2</mn><mi>N</mi><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math>. We find the corresponding unitarizing function <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>F</mi><mi>N</mi></msub><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mi>θ</mi><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> explicitly, and, as a bonus, extract some physical properties of this system using the thermodynamic Bethe ansatz technique.
