Using the data samples of 102 million Υ(1$\textit{S}$) and 158 million Υ(2$\textit{S}$) events collected by the Belle detector, we search for a pentaquark state in the $\textit{pJ/ψ}$ final state from Υ(1$\textit{,}$ 2$\textit{S}$) inclusive decays. Here, the charge-conjugate $$\overline{p }J/\psi $$ is included. We observe clear $\textit{pJ/ψ}$ production in Υ(1$\textit{,}$ 2$\textit{S}$) decays and measure the branching fractions to be $$\mathcal{B}[\Upsilon (1S)\to pJ/\psi +anything]=[8.1\pm 0.6(stat.)\pm 0.5(syst.)]\times {10}^{-5}$$ and $$\mathcal{B}[\Upsilon (2S)\to pJ/\psi +anything]=[4.3\pm 0.5(stat.)\pm 0.4(syst.)]\times {10}^{-5}$$ . We also measure the cross section of inclusive $\textit{pJ/ψ}$ production in $\textit{e}$ $\textit{e}$ annihilation to be $\textit{σ}$($\textit{e}$ $\textit{e}$ → $\textit{pJ/ψ}$ + $\textit{anything}$) = [108 ± 11($\textit{stat.}$) ± 6($\textit{syst.}$)] fb at $$\sqrt{s}=10.52$$ GeV using an 89$\textit{.}$5 fb continuum data sample. There is no significant $\textit{P}$ (4312) , $\textit{P}$ (4440) or $\textit{P}$ (4457) signal found in the $\textit{pJ/ψ}$ final states in Υ(1$\textit{,}$ 2$\textit{S}$) inclusive decays. We determine the upper limits of $$\mathcal{B}\left[\Upsilon \left({1},{2}S\right)\to {P}_{c}^{+}+anything\right]\cdot \mathcal{B}\left({P}_{c}^{+}\to pJ/\psi \right)$$ to be at the 10 level.

Search for a pentaquark state decaying into $\textit{pJ/ψ}$ in Υ(1$\textit{,}$ 2$\textit{S}$) inclusive decays at Belle

We study the quantum properties of the Higgs-boson decays into four fermions via two vector bosons ($\textit{H}$ → $\textit{VV}$ → 4$\textit{f}$). In particular, we focus on the case of two different-flavour lepton pairs ($\textit{H}$ → $\textit{ZZ}$ → $\textit{μ}$ $\textit{μ}$ $\textit{e}$ $\textit{e}$ ). We compute the quantum-information observables for the corresponding two-qutrit system ($\textit{ZZ}$) at next-to-leading order electroweak (NLO EW) accuracy in the SM. We find that NLO EW corrections lead to giant (order 1) effects in some specific cases, significantly altering the extraction of observables quantifying the quantum correlations. We identify observables that are robust and can be used to extract reliable information. Finally, we discuss possible new physics (NP) effects, parametrised via an effective-field-theory approach. We show how quantum observables can increase the sensitivity to NP also for the process considered in this study.

Quantum properties of $\textit{H → VV}$

The Kaon bag parameter $$ {\hat{B}}_K $$ plays a critical role in constraining the parameters of the CKM matrix and in probing physics beyond the Standard Model. In this work, we improve the precision of $$ {\hat{B}}_K $$ to next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) and provide world averages for both 3- and 4-flavour theories. In the course of this, as our main technical development, we carry out the two-loop matching between the RI-(S)MOM and $$ \overline{\textrm{MS}} $$ schemes. Our world averages combine all available lattice data, including conversion between the 3- and 4-flavour theories as appropriate. We obtain the result $$ {\hat{B}}_K^{\left(f=3\right)}=0.7627(60) $$ , which comprises the complete set of 3- and 4-flavour lattice results and can be used directly in phenomenological applications. The error is dominated by lattice uncertainties and missing higher-order corrections (residual scale dependence). Our averages include a PDG rescaling factor of 1.28 reflecting a mild tension among the lattice inputs after inclusion of NNLO corrections in the scheme conversion and matching across flavour thresholds. Our averages imply an updated value |$\textit{ϵ}$ | = 2$\textit{.}$171(65) (71) (153) × 10 . We briefly discuss applications of our results to $\textit{D}$-meson mixing.

RI-(S)MOM to $$ \overline{\textrm{MS}} $$ conversion for $\textit{B}$

The jet energy calibration and its uncertainties are derived from measurements of the calorimeter response to single particles in both data and Monte Carlo simulation using proton–proton collisions at $$\sqrt{s} = 13$$ TeV collected with the ATLAS detector during Run 2 at the Large Hadron Collider. The jet calibration uncertainty for anti- $$k_T$$ jets with a jet radius parameter of $\textit{R}$ $$_\textrm{jet} = 0.4$$ and in the central jet rapidity region is about 2.5% for transverse momenta ( $$p_{\text {T}}$$ ) of 20 $$\text {GeV}$$ , about $$0.5\%$$ for $$p_{\text {T}} =300$$ $$\text {GeV}$$ and $$0.7\%$$ for $$p_{\text {T}} =4$$ $$\text {TeV}$$ . Excellent agreement is found with earlier determinations obtained from $$p_\textrm{T}$$ -balance based in situ methods ( $$Z/\gamma $$ +jets). The combination of these two independent methods results in the most precise jet energy measurement achieved so far with the ATLAS detector with a relative uncertainty of $$0.3\%$$ at $$p_\textrm{T}=300$$ GeV and $$0.6\%$$ at 4 TeV. The jet energy calibration is also derived with the single-particle calorimeter response measurements separately for quark- and gluon-induced jets and furthermore for jets with $\textit{R}$ $$_\textrm{jet}$$ varying from 0.2 to 1.0 retaining the correlations between these measurements. Differences between inclusive jets and jets from boosted top-quark decays, with and without grooming the soft jet constituents, are also studied.
