We find complete solutions of $\textit{S}$-matrix bootstrap equations for the scatterings of massless particles in (1+1) dimensions with $\textit{A}$ symmetries. We show that only three types (minimal, diagonal, and saturated cases) of these $\textit{S}$-matrices can generate RG flows that lead to UV-complete theories, and other RG flows predicted in [11] are inconsistent with the bootstrap equations. Using these $\textit{S}$-matrices, we derived the TBA equations and corresponding $\textit{Y}$-systems that generate the RG flows between the IR and UV CFTs.

Massless $\textit{S}$-matrix bootstraps and RG flows

This paper presents the measurement of the isolated prompt photon inclusive production cross section in pp and p–Pb collisions by the ALICE Collaboration at the LHC. The measurement is performed in p–Pb collisions at centre-of-mass energies per nucleon pair of $$\sqrt{s_{\text {NN}}}={5.02}\,\textrm{TeV}$$ and 8.16 TeV, as well as in pp collisions at $$\sqrt{s}={5.02}\,\textrm{TeV}$$ and 8 TeV. The cross section is obtained at midrapidity $$(|y|<0.7)$$ using a charged-track based isolation momentum $$p_\textrm{T}^{\text {iso,~ch}}<{1.5}\,\textrm{GeV}/c$$ in a cone with radius $$R=0.4$$ . The data for both collision systems are well reproduced by perturbative QCD (pQCD) calculations at next-to-leading order (NLO) using recent parton distribution functions for free (PDF) and bound (nPDF) nucleons. Furthermore, the nuclear modification factor $$R_{\text {pA}}$$ for both collision energies is consistent with unity for $$p_{\textrm{T}}$$ $$>{20}\,\textrm{GeV}/c$$ . However, deviations from unity ( $$R_\textrm{pA}<1$$ ) of up to 20% are observed for $$p_{\textrm{T}}$$ $$<{20}\,\textrm{GeV}/c$$ with limited significance, indicating the possible presence of nuclear effects in the initial state of the collision. The suppression increases with decreasing $$p_{\textrm{T}}$$ with a significance of $$2.3\upsigma $$ for a non-zero slope and yields $$R_{\textrm{pA}}<1$$ with a significance of $$1.8\upsigma $$ at $$\sqrt{s_{\textrm{NN}}}={8.16}\,\textrm{TeV}$$ for $$p_{\textrm{T}}$$ $$<{20}\,\textrm{GeV}/c$$ . In addition, a significance of $$1.1\upsigma $$ is observed for $$R_{\textrm{pA}}<1$$ at the lower collision energy $$\sqrt{s_{\textrm{NN}}}={5.02}\,\textrm{TeV}$$ for $$p_{\textrm{T}} < {14}\,\textrm{GeV}/c$$ . The magnitude and shape of the suppression are consistent with pQCD predictions at NLO using nPDFs that incorporate nuclear shadowing effects in the Pb nucleus.

Measurement of isolated prompt photon production in pp and p–Pb collisions at the LHC

We consider an abelian extension of the Standard Model (SM) comprising a new gauge group U(1)$\textit{′}$, with the neutral gauge boson $\textit{Z′}$ having flavour violating couplings to quarks and leptons. The fermion content is the same as in SM except for the addition of three right-handed neutrinos. The model, proposed in [1], describes the couplings of $\textit{Z′}$ to fermions in terms of three rational parameters $\textit{ϵ}$ that sum to zero imposing the cancellation of the gauge anomalies. Each $\textit{ϵ}$ is common to all fermions in a generation, a feature producing correlations among quark and lepton observables. We focus on $$b\to s{{\ell}}_{1}^{-}{{\ell}}_{2}^{+}$$ transitions for the lepton flavour conserving $\textit{ℓ}$ = $\textit{ℓ}$ and lepton flavour violating case $\textit{ℓ}$ ≠ $\textit{ℓ}$ . Small deviations with respect to the SM predictions are found in the first case, which reflects a feature of the model where quark and lepton sectors prevent each other to manifest large discrepancies with respect to SM. We investigate the correlations between rare $\textit{B}$ and $\textit{B}$ decays and the leptonic processes $\textit{τ}$ → $\textit{μ}$ $\textit{μ}$ $\textit{μ}$ , $\textit{μ}$ → $\textit{e}$ $\textit{γ}$, $\textit{μ}$ → $\textit{e}$ $\textit{e}$ $\textit{e}$ and the $\textit{μ}$ → $\textit{e}$ conversion in nuclei. We show that the current experimental upper bounds on these four channels play an increasingly important role in constraining the branching fractions of lepton flavour violating $\textit{B}$ and $\textit{B}$ decays. While the present bound on $\textit{τ}$ → $\textit{μ}$ $\textit{μ}$ $\textit{μ}$ does not impose significant restrictions, the other three modes set progressively more stringent limits, an important information for the planned new experimental facilities.

Correlating lepton flavour violating $\textit{b}$ → $\textit{s}$ and leptonic decay modes in a minimal abelian extension of the Standard Model

The flavor-changing neutral current semileptonic decays of <italic>B</italic> mesons provide an excellent platform for indirectly probing New Physics (NP) beyond the Standard Model (SM). Recent measurements of lepton flavor universality (LFU) ratios such as <italic>R<inf>K</inf></italic>, <math altimg='si22.svg'><msub><mi>R</mi><msup><mi>K</mi><mo>*</mo></msup></msub></math>, and <italic>R<inf>&#981;</inf></italic> are consistent with SM predictions, thereby reducing earlier hints of LFU violation. Nevertheless, notable tensions persist in individual branching fractions&#8212;for instance <math altimg='si38.svg'><mrow><mi mathvariant='script'>B</mi><mo>(</mo><msup><mi>B</mi><mo>+</mo></msup><mo>&#8594;</mo><msup><mi>K</mi><mo>+</mo></msup><msup><mi>&#956;</mi><mo>+</mo></msup><msup><mi>&#956;</mi><mo>&#8722;</mo></msup><mo>)</mo></mrow></math> and <math altimg='si50.svg'><mrow><mi mathvariant='script'>B</mi><mo>(</mo><msup><mi>B</mi><mo>+</mo></msup><mo>&#8594;</mo><msup><mi>K</mi><mo>+</mo></msup><msup><mi>e</mi><mo>+</mo></msup><msup><mi>e</mi><mo>&#8722;</mo></msup><mo>)</mo></mrow></math>, which deviate at the 4 <italic>&#963;</italic>&#8211;5 <italic>&#963;</italic> level in the low- <italic>q</italic> 2 region ([1.1,6] GeV 2). Similarly, the angular observable <math altimg='si10.svg'><msubsup><mi>P</mi><mn>5</mn><mo>&#8242;</mo></msubsup></math> in <math altimg='si8.svg'><mrow><mi>B</mi><mo>&#8594;</mo><msup><mi>K</mi><mo>*</mo></msup><msup><mi>&#956;</mi><mo>+</mo></msup><msup><mi>&#956;</mi><mo>&#8722;</mo></msup></mrow></math> shows a 3.3 <italic>&#963;</italic> deviation, while <math altimg='si128.svg'><mrow><mi mathvariant='script'>B</mi><mo>(</mo><msub><mi>B</mi><mi>s</mi></msub><mo>&#8594;</mo><mi>&#981;</mi><msup><mi>&#956;</mi><mo>+</mo></msup><msup><mi>&#956;</mi><mo>&#8722;</mo></msup><mo>)</mo></mrow></math> departs from the SM by 3.6 <italic>&#963;</italic>. Although such discrepancies could in principle originate from underestimated hadronic effects, they may also indicate possible NP contributions. In this work, we perform a global fit to the latest <math altimg='si16.svg'><mrow><mi>b</mi><mo>&#8594;</mo><mi>s</mi><msup><mi>&#8467;</mi><mo>+</mo></msup><msup><mi>&#8467;</mi><mo>&#8722;</mo></msup></mrow></math> data within the framework of dimension-6 SMEFT operators. Our analysis systematically incorporates hadronic uncertainties from form factors, non-factorizable corrections, and input parameters, thereby providing a balanced assessment of the NP interpretation. We allow for NP contributions not only in <math altimg='si129.svg'><mrow><mi>b</mi><mo>&#8594;</mo><mi>s</mi><msup><mi>&#956;</mi><mo>+</mo></msup><msup><mi>&#956;</mi><mo>&#8722;</mo></msup></mrow></math> transitions but also in <math altimg='si130.svg'><mrow><mi>b</mi><mo>&#8594;</mo><mi>s</mi><msup><mi>e</mi><mo>+</mo></msup><msup><mi>e</mi><mo>&#8722;</mo></msup></mrow></math> channels, thus testing both lepton flavor universal (LFU) and lepton flavor universality violating (LFUV) NP scenarios. The interplay between these possibilities yields distinctive signatures in branching fractions, angular observables, and &#916;-observables, offering a comprehensive view of the current flavor anomalies.

We have carried out an evaluation of the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mi>π</mi><mo>+</mo></msup><msup><mi>π</mi><mo>−</mo></msup></math> and <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msubsup><mi>D</mi><mi>s</mi><mo>+</mo></msubsup><msup><mi>π</mi><mo>+</mo></msup></math> mass distributions in the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>D</mi><mrow><mi>s</mi><mn>1</mn></mrow></msub><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>2536</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> decay to <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msubsup><mi>D</mi><mi>s</mi><mo>+</mo></msubsup><msup><mi>π</mi><mo>+</mo></msup><msup><mi>π</mi><mo>−</mo></msup></math>, from the perspective that the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>D</mi><mrow><mi>s</mi><mn>1</mn></mrow></msub><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>2536</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> is a molecular state, mostly made from <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mi>K</mi><mo>*</mo></msup><mi>D</mi></math> in <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>I</mi><mo>=</mo><mn>0</mn></math>. We are able to obtain not only the mass distributions, but also the branching ratio of this decay. The shape of the mass distributions differs appreciably from those of the analogous reaction <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>D</mi><mrow><mi>s</mi><mn>1</mn></mrow></msub><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>2460</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><msubsup><mi>D</mi><mi>s</mi><mo>+</mo></msubsup><msup><mi>π</mi><mo>+</mo></msup><msup><mi>π</mi><mo>−</mo></msup></math>, which has been measured by the LHCb Collaboration and analyzed theoretically from the perspective that the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>D</mi><mrow><mi>s</mi><mn>1</mn></mrow></msub><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>2460</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> is a molecular state of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mi>D</mi><mo>*</mo></msup><mi>K</mi></math>, showing good agreement with the data. In spite of the analogy with the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>D</mi><mrow><mi>s</mi><mn>1</mn></mrow></msub><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>2460</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> decay, the dynamical differences in the decay mechanism are important, since now the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>f</mi><mn>0</mn></msub><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>500</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> resonance is not generated, while it was the dominant mechanism in the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>D</mi><mrow><mi>s</mi><mn>1</mn></mrow></msub><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>2460</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><msubsup><mi>D</mi><mi>s</mi><mo>+</mo></msubsup><msup><mi>π</mi><mo>+</mo></msup><msup><mi>π</mi><mo>−</mo></msup></math> decay. Nonetheless, we find striking differences in the mass distributions compared with phase space as a consequence of the decay mechanism. The branching ratio obtained is an order of magnitude bigger than the one of the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>D</mi><mrow><mi>s</mi><mn>1</mn></mrow></msub><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>2460</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><msubsup><mi>D</mi><mi>s</mi><mo>+</mo></msubsup><msup><mi>π</mi><mo>+</mo></msup><msup><mi>π</mi><mo>−</mo></msup></math> reaction, mostly due to the larger available phase space. We also show that the shape of the distributions obtained from the molecular picture is quite different from those obtained based on a <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>q</mi><mover accent="true"><mi>q</mi><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mover></math> picture. We conclude that measuring the shape of the mass distributions and the total strength of the decay mode should be very valuable to learn about the structure of the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>D</mi><mrow><mi>s</mi><mn>1</mn></mrow></msub><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>2536</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math>.

We investigate the leading-power fragmentation of fully charmed pentaquark states ($\textit{S}$-wave $$|c\bar{c}ccc\rangle $$ pentacharms) at hadron colliders. We introduce a new set of multimodal collinear fragmentation functions, named . They rely on an enhanced calculation of the initial-scale input for the constituent heavy-quark fragmentation channel, making them well suited to describe the short-distance emission of either a compact multicharm state or a dicharm-charm-dicharm configuration. To explore phenomenological implications, we use the multimodular interface to study NLL/NLO $$^+$$ semi-inclusive production rates for pentacharm-plus-jet systems at the forthcoming HL-LHC and the future FCC. Our analysis represents a further step toward bridging the domains of hadronic structure, precision QCD, and exotic matter.

Heavy-flavor multimodal fragmentation to $\textit{S}$-wave pentacharms at next-generation hadron colliders

A measurement of event-shape variables is presented, using a data sample produced in a special run with approximately one inelastic proton-proton collision per bunch crossing. The data were collected with the CMS detector at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><mn>64</mn><mtext> </mtext><mtext> </mtext><mrow><mi mathvariant="normal">μ</mi><msup><mrow><mi mathvariant="normal">b</mi></mrow><mrow><mo>−</mo><mn>1</mn></mrow></msup></mrow></mrow></math>. A number of observables related to the overall distribution of charged particles in the collisions are corrected for detector effects and compared with simulations. Inclusive event-shape distributions, as well as differential distributions of event shapes as functions of charged-particle multiplicity, are studied. None of the models investigated are able to satisfactorily describe the data. Moreover, there are significant features common amongst all generator setups studied, particularly showing data being more isotropic than any of the simulations. Multidimensional unfolded distributions are provided, along with their correlations.
