We study the new $Z'$ boson as a portal for the production of Higgs bosons $h_0$ and $H_0$ predicted by the Bestest Little Higgs Model through Higgs-strahlung processes $\mu^+\mu^- \to (Z, Z') \to Zh_0, ZH_0$ . We focus on the resonant and nonresonant effects of the $Zh_0, ZH_0$ signals. In our analysis, we consider the center-of-mass energies of $\sqrt{s}=3, 4, 6, 10, 30$ TeV and integrated luminosities of ${\cal{L}}=2, 4, 6, 10, 30$ ${ {\rm{ab}}^{-1}}$ projected for a future muon collider. The possibility of performing precision measurements for Higgs bosons $h_0$ and $H_0$ is very promising for the future muon collider. Furthermore, our results may be useful to the High Energy Physics community. Complementarily, we generate and provide the Feynman rules necessary for studying processes $\mu^+\mu^- \to (Z, Z') \to Zh_0, ZH_0$ .

New $\textit{Z}$' boson of the bestest little Higgs model as a portal to signatures of Higgs bosons $\textit{h}$ $_{0}$ and $\textit{H}$ $_{0}$ at the future muon collider

In the phase space perspective, scalar field slow roll inflation is described by a heteroclinic orbit from a saddle type fixed point to a final attractive point. In many models the saddle point resides in the scalar field asymptotics, and thus for a comprehensive view of the dynamics a global phase portrait is necessary. For this task, in the literature one mostly encounters dynamical variables that either render the initial or the final state singular, thus obscuring the full picture. In this work we construct a hybrid set of variables which allow the depiction of both the initial and final states distinctly in nonsingular manner. To illustrate the method, we apply these variables to portray various interesting types of scalar field inflationary models like metric Higgs inflation, metric Starobinsky inflation, pole inflation, and a nonminimal Palatini model.

Global portraits of inflation in nonsingular variables

In this article we explore the effect of chemical potential at zero temperature in the implementation of $\textit{in-medium}$ effects in the perturbative sector in finite energy sum rules. For this purpose, we explore the axial, axial-pseudoscalar and pseudoscalar current correlators involving charged pions. The inclusion of non-normal ordered condensates with chemical potential effects in the operator mixing is considered. As a result, the contribution of the operator mixing with chemical potential dependence cancels all the explicit chemical potential contribution of the perturbative sector, aligned with the so-called “silver blaze problem”. We find an abrupt transition when $$\mu =\sqrt{s_0}/2$$ , with $$s_0$$ representing the hadronic continuum threshold. Exploring beyond this critical chemical potential we found similarities with low-energy effective meson models at high chemical potential.

Finite-energy sum rules at finite chemical potential and zero temperature

We consider non-linear electrodynamics (NED) minimally coupled to general relativity. We derive novel electrically charged, spherically symmetric, black-hole solutions having, for some set of parameters, all their NED fields (the electric field and the square of the electromagnetic field) regular for all values of the radial coordinate. For another set of parameters, the NED fields and the Kretschmann scalar are regular as the radial coordinate runs from one spatial infinity to another spatial infinity without the metric being a wormhole. We obtain solutions that have two distinct or the same asymptotic behaviors (two spatial infinities) with equal or unequal ADM masses and solutions with always one horizon whatever the ratio of the electric charge to mass. We comment on some regularity theorems and generalize them to multi-valued NED Lagrangians. The derived regular solutions do not violate the weak energy condition.

Two-sided NED black-hole, naked-singularity, and soliton solutions

In this work, we propose a topological quantum field theory phase for four-dimensional gravity. We show it is able to generate, not only General Relativity, but the whole family of Lovelock–Cartan theories of gravity. This is accomplished due to the existence of a topological symmetry which, when explicitly broken via the introduction of a mass scale, releases the local degrees of freedom of gravity. Additionally, we introduce an extended notion of the (anti-)self-dual Landau gauge conditions to evaluate the Ward identities, counterterms, and prove the quantum stability of the model, to all orders in perturbation theory, using the algebraic renormalization technique.

Topological symmetry-restored phase of gravity

Photon spheres have attracted considerable interest in the studies of black holes and other astrophysical objects. For different categories of spacetimes (or gravitational sources), the existence of photon spheres and their distributions are dramatically influenced by the geometric and topological properties of spacetimes and characteristics of the corresponding gravitational fields. In this work, we carry out a geometric analysis on photon spheres for different categories of spacetime (including black hole spacetime, ultra-compact object’s spacetime, regular spacetime, and naked singularity spacetime). Some universal properties and conclusions are obtained for these spacetimes. We mostly focus on the existence of photon spheres, the total number of photon spheres $$n = n_{\text {stable}} + n_{\text {unstable}}$$ , the subtraction of stable photon sphere and unstable photon sphere $$w = n_{\text {stable}} - n_{\text {unstable}}$$ in different categories of spacetimes. These conclusions are derived solely from geometric properties of optical geometry of spacetimes, irrelevant to the specific spacetime metric forms. Besides, our results successfully recover some important theorems on photon spheres proposed in recent years.

A general discussion on photon spheres in different categories of spacetimes

We present a self-consistent dynamical holographic quantum chromodynamics (QCD) model to investigate the mass spectra and melting behavior of heavy and exotic mesons at finite temperature and finite density. Our approach is based on the Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton (EMD) framework and incorporates an elsewhere already introduced, albeit by hand, phenomenological nonquadratic dilaton profile. This allows one to capture the nonlinear Regge trajectories of heavy-flavor mesons and model certain exotic states. We show how to construct such models by actually solving the coupled Einstein, Maxwell, and dilaton field equations, ensuring mathematical self-consistency to replace any ad hoc input. At finite temperature, we analyze the confinement-deconfinement transition via a Hawking-Page phase transition. We compute the spectral functions, revealing the sequential melting of quarkonia as the temperature is increased. Extending to finite density, we explore the impact of baryon chemical potential on meson stability, showing significant modifications in spectral peaks and effective potentials that indicate a more rapid melting of mesonic states as the chemical potential increases in the deconfined phase. The dual of the small/large black hole transition now indicates toward a first order phase transition line ending at a second order critical point. Interestingly, the spectral functions smoothly cross this phase transition line.

Holographic QCD model for heavy and exotic mesons at finite density: A self-consistent dynamical approach

A series of vector charmonium(like) states, accompanied by a <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>K</mi></math> meson, have been observed in the decays of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><mi>B</mi></mrow></math> meson. These processes are color-suppressed at the quark level, as inferred from topological diagram analysis. In this work, we calculate the branching fractions of the decays <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>B</mi><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><mi>ψ</mi><mi>K</mi></math>, where <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>ψ</mi></math> denotes the charmonium(like) states <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>ψ</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>1</mn><mi>S</mi><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math>, <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>ψ</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>2</mn><mi>S</mi><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math>, <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>ψ</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>4040</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math>, <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>ψ</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>3770</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math>, and <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>ψ</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>4160</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math>. Our analysis incorporates both short-distance (naive factorization approach) and long-distance (final-state interactions) contributions. Within reasonable parameters, our results align with experimental data except for the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>ψ</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mn>4160</mn><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math>, suggesting its possible exotic nature. Furthermore, we find that long-distance contributions dominate these decay processes, highlighting the crucial role of final-state interactions in the productions of charmonium(like) states in <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>B</mi></math> decays.

<math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>B</mi></math>-meson decays to vector charmoniumlike states and a <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>K</mi></math> meson: The role of final-state interactions

We investigate the expected precision of the reconstructed neutrino direction using a <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><msub><mrow><mi>ν</mi></mrow><mrow><mi>μ</mi></mrow></msub></mrow></math>-argon quasielasticlike event topology with one muon and one proton in the final state and the reconstruction capabilities of the MicroBooNE liquid argon time projection chamber. This direction is of importance in the context of DUNE sub-GeV atmospheric oscillation studies. MicroBooNE allows for a data-driven quantification of this resolution by investigating the deviation of the reconstructed muon-proton system orientation with respect to the well-known direction of neutrinos originating from the Booster Neutrino Beam with an exposure of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mn>1.3</mn><mo>×</mo><msup><mn>10</mn><mn>21</mn></msup></math> protons on target. Using simulation studies, we derive the expected sub-GeV DUNE atmospheric-neutrino reconstructed simulated spectrum by developing a reweighting scheme as a function of the true neutrino energy. We further report flux-integrated single- and double-differential cross section measurements of charged-current <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>ν</mi><mi>μ</mi></msub></math> quasielasticlike scattering on argon as a function of the muon-proton system angle using the full MicroBooNE data sets. We also demonstrate the sensitivity of these results to nuclear effects and final state hadronic reinteraction modeling.

First study of neutrino angle reconstruction using quasielasticlike interactions in MicroBooNE

We discuss the low-energy properties of binary superfluids with density-dependent interactions. Adding an intraspecies coupling that induces an explicit soft symmetry breaking, we determine the background pressure, and we show that the low-energy spectrum consists of a massless Nambu-Goldstone boson and a massive (pseudo) Nambu-Goldstone boson. When the background velocities of the two superfluids are transonic, the system is characterized by two distinct acoustic horizons: the hydrodynamic analog of the black hole event horizon. The Hawking-like emission occurring at these horizons produces an effective friction on the fluids. We compute the viscosity-to-entropy ratios close to the two acoustic horizons, finding that the emission of pseudo Nambu-Goldstone bosons violates the bound conjectured by Kovtun, Son, and Starinet.
