This study investigates the decay modes of the $\textit{B}$ meson, focusing on semileptonic and nonleptonic decay into S and P wave charmonia. The primary objective is to extract the shape parameter of the $\textit{B}$ meson distribution amplitude through a data-driven approach, utilizing the lattice results on $\textit{B}$ → $\textit{η}$ , $\textit{J}$/$\textit{ψ}$ semileptonic form factors and yielding an estimate of $\textit{ω}$ = 0.998(34) GeV for the same. We use the form factors derived from the modified perturbative QCD framework in the analysis. This result and various other inputs on the radiative decays of the P wave charmonia enable us to estimate the $\textit{q}$ shapes of the $\textit{B}$ → $\textit{χ}$ , $\textit{χ}$ and $\textit{h}$ form factors using pole expansion parametrization. Using these results, we have obtained predictions of LFUV observables $\textit{R}$($\textit{χ}$ ) = 0.169(11), $\textit{R}$($\textit{χ}$ ) = 0.126(2) and $\textit{R}$($\textit{h}$ ) = 0.113(3). Finally, we have presented predictions for branching ratios of some nonleptonic decay modes of the $\textit{B}$ meson into S and P wave charmonia in the same modified perturbative QCD framework.

Correlated study on some $\textit{B}$

This study focuses on the decay of the meson to S-wave charmonia. Starting with lattice inputs on → / form factors, we have obtained the → form factors using heavy quark spin symmetry (HQSS) relations between the associated form factors after parametrizing and extracting the possible symmetry breaking corrections. Using the shapes of these form factors, we have computed the branching fractions $$ \mathcal{B} $$ ( $$ {B}_c^{-} $$ → $$ \overline{\nu} $$ ) (with = ( )) and the decay rate distributions and have predicted the Standard model estimate for the observable ( ) = Γ( $$ {B}_c^{-} $$ → $$ \overline{\nu} $$ )/Γ( $$ {B}_c^{-} $$ $$ \overline{\nu} $$ ) = 0 310 0 042. In addition, we have estimated the radial wave functions $$ {\psi}_{B_c}^R $$ (0), $$ {\psi}_{J/\psi}^R $$ (0) and $$ {\psi}_{\eta_c}^R $$ (0) at small / quark-antiquark distances from the available information on the form factors from lattice, the lattice inputs on the decay constants / , $$ {f}_{\eta_c} $$ , $$ {f}_{B_c} $$ and experimental data on radiative and rare decays of the / and mesons. To do so, we choose the theory framework of non-relativistic QCD (NRQCD) effective theory. Using our results, we have predicted the branching fractions of a few non-leptonic decays of → / or and other light mesons. We have also updated the numerical estimates of the cross sections ( → / ) and predicted the branching fractions of boson decays to either / or final states or both.

Analyzing the semileptonic and nonleptonic

We study the four-fold angular distribution of the semileptonic $$ {\Lambda}_b\to {\Lambda}_c^{+}\left(\to \Lambda {\pi}^{+}\right){\ell}^{-}{\overline{\nu}}_{\ell } $$ decay and find out analytical expressions for various asymmetric and angular observables in the standard model (SM) and the relevant new physics (NP) scenarios. Using the available inputs on the form factors from the lattice, we predict the values with uncertainties of all these observables in the SM. We have considered NP effects only in $$ b\to c{\tau}^{-}{\overline{\nu}}_{\tau } $$ transitions, and constrain the Wilson coefficients of the model-independent beyond the SM operators from the available data on $\textit{B}$ → $\textit{D}$ $\textit{ℓν}$ and $$ {\Lambda}_b\to {\Lambda}_c^{+}{\ell}^{-}{\overline{\nu}}_{\ell } $$ decays. In this study, we focus on analysing the contributions to these decays in one- and two-operator scenarios. Furthermore, we test the new physics sensitivities (one or two-operator scenarios) of the different angular and asymmetric observables in $$ {\Lambda}_b\to {\Lambda}_c^{+}\left(\to \Lambda {\pi}^{+}\right){\tau}^{-}{\overline{\nu}}_{\tau } $$ decays and discuss the phenomenology. We observe that it will be possible to distinguish the different NP effects from one another by measuring these observables.

An imperative study of the angular observables in $$ {\Lambda}_b\to {\Lambda}_c^{+}\left(\to \Lambda {\pi}^{+}\right){\ell}^{-}{\overline{\nu}}_{\ell } $$ decay and probing the footprint of new physics

This study focuses on a combined analysis of various available inputs to constrain the parameter spaces of a simplified dark matter (SDM) model featuring a spin-0 mediator and fermionic dark matter (DM). The spin-0 mediator interacts with standard model (SM) fermions, SM gauge bosons, and DM. We constrain the parameter spaces of different relevant couplings, DM mass, and the mediator mass, using the data from flavour-changing charged and neutral current processes, CKM matrices, W and Z-pole observables, DM relic density, direct and indirect detection bounds. We have calculated bounds on the couplings from both separate and simultaneous analyses of the mentioned processes. We identify correlated parameter spaces for all the relevant parameters which include the couplings and the masses. For the DM and mediator masses, we have scanned the region between 100 GeV and 1000 GeV. Using our results, we have obtained bounds on the couplings of possible higher dimensional operators from which we can formulate our SDM.

Exploring constraints on Simplified Dark Matter model through flavour and electroweak observables

We investigate flavor violating four-Fermi Standard Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT) operators of dimension-six that can be probed via tc   <math> <mfenced> <mrow> <mover> <mi>t</mi> <mo>¯</mo> </mover> <mi>c</mi> <mo>+</mo> <mi>t</mi> <mover> <mi>c</mi> <mo>¯</mo> </mover> </mrow> </mfenced> </math>  $$ \left(\overline{t}c+t\overline{c}\right) $$  production at the multi-TeV muon collider. We study different FCNC and FCCC processes related to B, B  s , K and D decays and mixings, sensitive to these operators and constrain the corresponding couplings. The tensor operator turns out to be most tightly bound. We perform event simulation of the final state signal from tc production together with the SM background to show that operators after flavor constraint can reach the discovery limit at 10 TeV muon collider. We further adopt the optimal observable technique (OOT) to determine the optimal statistical sensitivity of the Wilson coefficients and compare them with the flavor constraints. We use the limits to predict the observational sensitivities of the rare processes like K  L  → π 0 ℓℓ, D 0 → μμ, t → cℓℓ.

Probing flavor constrained SMEFT operators through tc production at the muon collider

We study the   <math> <mover> <mi>B</mi> <mo>¯</mo> </mover> <mo>→</mo> <mi>D</mi> <mfenced> <msup> <mi>D</mi> <mo>∗</mo> </msup> </mfenced> <msup> <mi>ℓ</mi> <mo>−</mo> </msup> <msub> <mover> <mi>ν</mi> <mo>¯</mo> </mover> <mi>ℓ</mi> </msub> </math>  $$ \overline{B}\to D\left({D}^{\ast}\right){\ell}^{-}{\overline{\nu}}_{\ell } $$  decays based on the up-to-date available inputs from experiments and the lattice. First, we review the standard model (SM) predictions of the different observables associated with these decay channels. In the analyses, we consider new physics (NP) effects in the channels with the heavy (τ), as well as the light leptons (μ, e). We have extracted |V  cb | along with the new physics Wilson coefficients (WCs) from the available data on light leptons; the extracted value of |V  cb | is (40.3 ± 0.5) × 10 −3. The extracted WCs are consistent with zero, but some could be of order 10 −2. Also, the simultaneous explanation of R(D (∗)) and   <math> <msubsup> <mi>F</mi> <mi>L</mi> <msup> <mi>D</mi> <mo>∗</mo> </msup> </msubsup> </math>  $$ {F}_L^{D^{\ast }} $$  is not possible in the one-operator scenarios. However, the two operator scenarios with   <math> <msubsup> <mi>O</mi> <msub> <mi>S</mi> <mn>2</mn> </msub> <mi>τ</mi> </msubsup> <mo>=</mo> <mfenced> <mrow> <msub> <mover> <mi>q</mi> <mo>¯</mo> </mover> <mi>R</mi> </msub> <msub> <mi>b</mi> <mi>L</mi> </msub> </mrow> </mfenced> <mfenced> <mrow> <msub> <mover> <mi>τ</mi> <mo>¯</mo> </mover> <mi>R</mi> </msub> <msub> <mi>ν</mi> <mi>τL</mi> </msub> </mrow> </mfenced> </math>  $$ {\mathcal{O}}_{S_2}^{\tau }=\left({\overline{q}}_R{b}_L\right)\left({\overline{\tau}}_R{\nu}_{\tau L}\right) $$  as one of the operators could explain all these three measurements. Finally, we have given predictions of all the related observables in   <math> <mover> <mi>B</mi> <mo>¯</mo> </mover> <mo>→</mo> <msup> <mi>D</mi> <mfenced> <mo>∗</mo> </mfenced> </msup> <mfenced> <msup> <mi>τ</mi> <mo>−</mo> </msup> <msup> <mi>μ</mi> <mo>−</mo> </msup> <msup> <mi>e</mi> <mo>−</mo> </msup> </mfenced> <mover> <mi>ν</mi> <mo>¯</mo> </mover> </math>  $$ \overline{B}\to {D}^{\left(\ast \right)}\left({\tau}^{-},{\mu}^{-},{e}^{-}\right)\overline{\nu} $$  decays in the NP scenarios, which could be tested in future experiments. We have repeated this exercise for   <math> <mover> <mi>B</mi> <mo>¯</mo> </mover> <mo>→</mo> <mi>π</mi> <msup> <mi>ℓ</mi> <mo>−</mo> </msup> <msub> <mover> <mi>ν</mi> <mo>¯</mo> </mover> <mi>ℓ</mi> </msub> </math>  $$ \overline{B}\to \pi {\ell}^{-}{\overline{\nu}}_{\ell } $$  decays with the light lepton and extracted |V  ub | and the new physics WCs. Finally, using all these available data for the light and heavy leptons, we have given bounds on the couplings of the relevant SM effective field theory (SMEFT) operators and the probable NP scale Λ.

We constrain the inverse moment of the B-meson light-cone distribution amplitude (LCDA), <math><msub><mrow><mi>λ</mi></mrow><mrow><mi>B</mi></mrow></msub></math> in heavy quark effective theory, using form factor estimates from Lattice QCD collaboration. The estimation of the parameter <math><msub><mrow><mi>λ</mi></mrow><mrow><mi>B</mi></mrow></msub></math> has, until now, relied solely on QCD sum rule methods and deals with significant uncertainty. In this work, we express the form factors for the <math><mi>B</mi><mo>→</mo><mi>K</mi></math> channel, calculated within the light-cone sum rule (LCSR) approach, in terms of the B-meson LCDAs. By incorporating recent Lattice results from the HPQCD collaboration for the <math><mi>B</mi><mo>→</mo><mi>K</mi></math> form factors at zero momentum transfer (<math><msup><mrow><mi>q</mi></mrow><mrow><mn>2</mn></mrow></msup></math> = 0), we impose constraints on this parameter. Consequently, we achieve a twofold reduction in uncertainty compared to the QCD sum rule estimate, yielding <math><msub><mrow><mi>λ</mi></mrow><mrow><mi>B</mi></mrow></msub><mo>=</mo><mn>338</mn><mo>±</mo><mn>68</mn></math> MeV, when the B-meson LCDAs are expressed in the Exponential model. Additionally, we compare the form factor predictions, using the constrained <math><msub><mrow><mi>λ</mi></mrow><mrow><mi>B</mi></mrow></msub></math> value, with the earlier analyses for other channels as well, such as <math><mi>B</mi><mo>→</mo><mi>π</mi></math> and <math><mi>B</mi><mo>→</mo><mi>D</mi></math>.

We have used all the available experimental data on the branching fractions in different q 2-bins, the available theory inputs on the form factors from lattice and the light cone sum rule (LCSR) approach; analysed the data in different possible scenarios and presented the results. From a combined analysis of all the b → cℓ − ν  ℓ  exclusive decays, we have obtained |V  cb | = (40.5 ± 0.6) × 10 −3 and from all the b → uℓ − ν  ℓ  modes, we obtain |V  ub | = (3.46 ± 0.12) × 10 −3 which changes to |V  ub | = (3.51 ± 0.13) × 10 −3 after dropping   <math> <mi>BR</mi> <mfenced> <mrow> <msub> <mover> <mi>B</mi> <mo>¯</mo> </mover> <mi>s</mi> </msub> <mo>→</mo> <msup> <mi>K</mi> <mo>+</mo> </msup> <msup> <mi>μ</mi> <mo>−</mo> </msup> <msub> <mover> <mi>ν</mi> <mo>¯</mo> </mover> <mi>μ</mi> </msub> </mrow> </mfenced> </math>  $$ \mathcal{BR}\left({\overline{B}}_s\to {K}^{+}{\mu}^{-}{\overline{\nu}}_{\mu}\right) $$ . We hence report the values of the ratio |V  ub |/|V  cb | = 0.085 ± 0.003 and 0.087 ± 0.003 with and without the input from   <math> <msub> <mover> <mi>B</mi> <mo>¯</mo> </mover> <mi>s</mi> </msub> <mo>→</mo> <msup> <mi>K</mi> <mo>+</mo> </msup> <msup> <mi>μ</mi> <mo>−</mo> </msup> <msub> <mover> <mi>ν</mi> <mo>¯</mo> </mover> <mi>μ</mi> </msub> </math>  $$ {\overline{B}}_s\to {K}^{+}{\mu}^{-}{\overline{\nu}}_{\mu } $$  modes, respectively. Extractions of |V  ub |/|V  cb | from a combined study of the exclusive   <math> <mi>b</mi> <mo>→</mo> <mi>u</mi> <mfenced> <mi>c</mi> </mfenced> <msup> <mi>ℓ</mi> <mo>−</mo> </msup> <msub> <mover> <mi>ν</mi> <mo>¯</mo> </mover> <mi>ℓ</mi> </msub> </math>  $$ b\to u(c){\ell}^{-}{\overline{\nu}}_{\ell } $$  decays

After incorporating all the available experimental data and the most up-to-date Lattice and light cone sum rule (LCSR) inputs on the form factors, we analyze the exclusive b → uℓν  ℓ  and b → dℓℓ decays simultaneously. We have extracted the shapes of all the associated form factors using which we have provided predictions in the standard model for the branching ratios, direct CP asymmetries and isospin asymmetry for B → πℓℓ and various angular observables for B → ρℓℓ transitions. Also, we have tested the sensitivities of these observables towards physics beyond the standard model (BSM). For the B → ρℓℓ decays, we have defined tagged and untagged observables and predicted them in the SM and BSM. In the context of BSM, we have found some compelling information. The respective predictions in a few benchmark scenarios are given, which can be tested in the experiments at the LHCb and the Belle.

We constrain the parameters of a representative new physics model with a possible dark matter (DM) signature from a global Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) fit analysis. The model has neutral quark current interactions mediated by a scalar, impacting the semileptonic and purely leptonic meson decays at one loop. We take this opportunity to update the fit results for the Wolfenstein parameters and the CKM elements with and without a contribution from the new model using several other updated inputs. In addition, we analyze and include the <math><mi>B</mi><mo>→</mo><msup><mi>D</mi><mo>*</mo></msup><mo>ℓ</mo><msub><mi>ν</mi><mo>ℓ</mo></msub></math> decay in the CKM fit. The newly available inputs on the relevant form factors from lattice calculations are included, and the possibility of new physics effects in <math><mrow><mi>B</mi><mo>→</mo><msup><mrow><mi>D</mi></mrow><mrow><mo>*</mo></mrow></msup><mo>ℓ</mo><msub><mrow><mi>ν</mi></mrow><mrow><mo>ℓ</mo></mrow></msub></mrow></math> is considered. We obtain tight constraints on the relevant new physics parameters. We study the possible implications of this constraint on DM phenomenology. Apart from DM, the bounds are also applicable in other relevant phenomenological studies.
