Abstract We show that the massless form fields in -dimensional non-perturbation theory of emergent gravity become massive in a perturbative phase without the Higgs mechanism. In particular, an axionic scalar sourced by a non-perturbative dynamical correction is absorbed by the form fields to describe a massive Neveu–Schwarz (NS) field theory on an emergent gravitational -brane pair. Arguably the novel idea of the Higgs mechanism is naturally invoked in an emergent gravity underlying a . Analysis reveals “gravito-weak” and “electro-weak” phases respectively on a vacuum pair in  and  dimensions. It is argued that the massive NS field quanta may govern an emergent graviton on a gravitational -brane.

Mass generation from a non-perturbative correction: Massive Neveu–Schwarz field and graviton in (3+1) dimensions

We revisit the effective space-time torsion curvature in a second order formalism, underlying the non-linear U(1) gauge dynamics, of a two form on a D4 -brane. The formalism incorporates a significant global NS two form into the theory via its perturbative coupling to a dynamical two form. In particular we explore the non-linear gauge dynamics on a D4 -brane in the presence of a non-trivial background metric. An effective de Sitter universe is shown to emerge on a vacuum created pair of (DD¯)3 -branes by a local two form at the past horizon with the Big Bang. We obtain a number of 4D de Sitter quantum black holes with and without a propagating torsion. In a low energy limit the non-perturbative correction may be seen to be insignificant. The quantum black hole undergoes an expansion in the limit and identifies with the Einstein vacuum. Interestingly our analysis reveals a plausible quintessence (axion) on an anti- D3 -brane which may source the dark energy in a D3 -brane universe. Arguably a brane universe moves away from its anti-brane due to the conjectured repulsive gravity underlying the quintessence. It leads to a growth in the extra fifth dimension between a brane and an anti-brane, which may provide a clue to an accelerating universe as observed in cosmology.

Quintessence and effective RN de Sitter brane geometries

A non-perturbation formalism underlying a quantum theory of gravity is revisited by exploiting a two form in a non-linear U(1) gauge theory on a D4 -brane. In particular, we explore two different gauge choices for a two form underlying the dynamics of a higher dimensional geometric torsion in a second order formalism. We obtain two non-extremal quantum Kerr geometries in five dimensions on a pair of (DD¯)4 -brane in a type IIA superstring theory. In the gauge choice, the quantum vacua may seen to underlie a non-propagating torsion on a non-BPS brane. It is argued that the quantum Kerr vacua undergo tunneling and lead to a five dimensional Einstein Kerr black hole in a low energy limit.
