One-loop contributions for the decay process $ H^{\pm} \rightarrow W^{\pm}Z $ within the Two-Higgs-Doublet Model (THDM) are computed in the general $ {\cal{R}}_{\xi} $ gauge, and its phenomenological applications at future muon–TeV colliders are investigated. Analytic results are confirmed by several consistency tests, including those of $\textit{ξ}$-independence, renormalization-scale stability, and the ultraviolet finiteness of the one-loop amplitude. We first perform an updated parameter scan of the Type-X THDM in phenomenological studies. The production of charged Higgs boson pairs at future muon–TeV colliders is then investigated through two processes: $ \mu^+\mu^- \rightarrow H^+H^- \rightarrow W^{\pm}W^{\mp}Zh $ and $ \mu^+\mu^- \rightarrow \gamma\gamma \rightarrow H^+H^- \rightarrow W^{\pm}W^{\mp}Zh $ . Both signal events and their significance are evaluated considering the corresponding Standard Model backgrounds. We find that the signal significances can exceed $ 5\sigma $ at several benchmark points in the viable parameter space of the Type-X THDM.

The decay channels proceed primarily through excited <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mi>K</mi><mn>0</mn></msup></math> or <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mi>D</mi><mn>0</mn></msup></math> resonances or <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>ϕ</mi></math> mesons, and open a new avenue for studies of charge-parity violation in beauty mesons.

In this study, we explore various lab-frame angular observables at the Large Hadron-electron Collider (LHeC) to test their sensitivity to the most general structure of the Higgs (<math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>H</mi></math>) to neutral weak boson (<math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>Z</mi></math>) coupling (<math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>H</mi><mi>Z</mi><mi>Z</mi></math>) via the process <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mi>e</mi><mo>−</mo></msup><mi>p</mi><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><msup><mi>e</mi><mo>−</mo></msup><mi>H</mi><mi>j</mi></math> at the center of mass energy <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msqrt><mi>s</mi></msqrt><mo>≈</mo><mn>1.3</mn><mtext> </mtext><mtext> </mtext><mi>TeV</mi></math>. The most general Lorentz structure of the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>H</mi><mi>Z</mi><mi>Z</mi></math> coupling beyond the standard model is composed of two <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><mi>C</mi><mi>P</mi></mrow></math>-even (<math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>λ</mi><mrow><mn>1</mn><mi>Z</mi></mrow></msub></math> and <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>λ</mi><mrow><mn>2</mn><mi>Z</mi></mrow></msub></math>) and one <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><mi>C</mi><mi>P</mi></mrow></math>-odd (<math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mover accent="true"><mi>λ</mi><mo stretchy="false">˜</mo></mover><mi>Z</mi></msub></math>) component. In a previous study, we investigated the absolute value of azimuthal correlation (<math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mo stretchy="false">|</mo><mi mathvariant="normal">Δ</mi><mi>ϕ</mi><mo stretchy="false">|</mo></math>) between the final state electron and the jet to derive constraints on the nonstandard <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>H</mi><mi>Z</mi><mi>Z</mi></math> couplings. This choice of observable is motivated by its potential to discriminate between <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><mi>C</mi><mi>P</mi></mrow></math>-odd and <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><mi>C</mi><mi>P</mi></mrow></math>-even couplings in the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mi>e</mi><mo>−</mo></msup><mi>p</mi><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><msub><mi>ν</mi><mi>e</mi></msub><mi>H</mi><mi>j</mi></math> process. Since the process <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mi>e</mi><mo>−</mo></msup><mi>p</mi><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><msup><mi>e</mi><mo>−</mo></msup><mi>H</mi><mi>j</mi></math> has an electron in the final state, one can construct more angular observables. In addition to <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mo stretchy="false">|</mo><mi mathvariant="normal">Δ</mi><mi>ϕ</mi><mo stretchy="false">|</mo></math>, we identify new angular observables: the sign-sensitive azimuthal correlation (<math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi mathvariant="normal">Δ</mi><mi>ϕ</mi></math>) and the polar angle of the final state electron (<math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>θ</mi></math>), which are suitable for constraining nonstandard <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>H</mi><mi>Z</mi><mi>Z</mi></math> coupling. Our analysis shows that these new angles improve the constraints on <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>λ</mi><mrow><mn>2</mn><mi>Z</mi></mrow></msub></math> and <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mover accent="true"><mi>λ</mi><mo stretchy="false">˜</mo></mover><mi>Z</mi></msub></math> in the range of 48%–67%. We also study the potential of the asymmetry in <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi mathvariant="normal">Δ</mi><mi>ϕ</mi></math> to constrain the parameters corresponding to the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><mi>C</mi><mi>P</mi></mrow></math>-odd coupling.

Role of angular observables in probing nonstandard <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>H</mi><mi>Z</mi><mi>Z</mi></math> couplings at an electron-proton collider

Light <italic>s</italic>-shell hypernuclei ( <math altimg='si41.svg'><mrow><msubsup><mrow /><mstyle mathvariant='normal'><mi>&#923;</mi></mstyle><mrow><mn>3</mn><mo>,</mo><mn>4</mn></mrow></msubsup><mtext>H</mtext></mrow></math>) and their ground-state properties are crucial benchmarks in hypernuclear physics. In particular, comparing the production cross sections of <math altimg='si42.svg'><mrow><msubsup><mrow /><mstyle mathvariant='normal'><mi>&#923;</mi></mstyle><mn>3</mn></msubsup><mtext>H</mtext></mrow></math> and <math altimg='si43.svg'><mrow><msubsup><mrow /><mstyle mathvariant='normal'><mi>&#923;</mi></mstyle><mn>4</mn></msubsup><mtext>H</mtext></mrow></math> provides insights into the &#923; <italic>N</italic> interaction in different isospin configurations, which can help address recent discrepancies in the reported &#923; binding energy of hypertriton. We present the first measurement of the production cross sections for <math altimg='si42.svg'><mrow><msubsup><mrow /><mstyle mathvariant='normal'><mi>&#923;</mi></mstyle><mn>3</mn></msubsup><mtext>H</mtext></mrow></math> and <math altimg='si43.svg'><mrow><msubsup><mrow /><mstyle mathvariant='normal'><mi>&#923;</mi></mstyle><mn>4</mn></msubsup><mtext>H</mtext></mrow></math> using the in-flight <math altimg='si44.svg'><mrow><mo>(</mo><msup><mi>K</mi><mo>&#8722;</mo></msup><mo>,</mo><msup><mi>&#960;</mi><mn>0</mn></msup><mo>)</mo></mrow></math> reaction at a beam momentum of 1.0&#8239;GeV/ <italic>c</italic> with an identical experimental setup. Using the ratio of these cross sections and comparing it with theoretical calculations, we evaluate the &#923; binding energy of hypertriton, yielding a value consistent with the picture of a loosely bound system.

We study the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><mi>C</mi><mi>P</mi></mrow></math>-even neutral Higgs boson decays <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mi>h</mi><mn>0</mn></msup><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><mi>c</mi><mover accent="true"><mi>c</mi><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mover><mo>,</mo><mi>b</mi><mover accent="true"><mi>b</mi><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mover><mo>,</mo><mi>b</mi><mover accent="true"><mi>s</mi><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mover><mo>,</mo><mi>γ</mi><mi>γ</mi><mo>,</mo><mi>g</mi><mi>g</mi></math> in the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) with a general quark flavor violation (QFV) due to squark generation mixings, identifying the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mi>h</mi><mn>0</mn></msup></math> as the Higgs boson with a mass of 125 GeV. We compute the widths of the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mi>h</mi><mn>0</mn></msup></math> decays to <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>c</mi><mover accent="true"><mi>c</mi><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mover><mo>,</mo><mi>b</mi><mover accent="true"><mi>b</mi><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mover><mo>,</mo><mi>b</mi><mover accent="true"><mi>s</mi><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mover></math> at the full one-loop level. For the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mi>h</mi><mn>0</mn></msup></math> decays to <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>γ</mi><mi>γ</mi></math> and <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>g</mi><mi>g</mi></math>, we compute the widths at NLO QCD level. For the first time, we perform a systematic MSSM parameter scan for these widths, respecting all the relevant theoretical and experimental constraints, such as those from B-meson data, and the 125 GeV Higgs boson data from recent LHC experiments, as well as the limits on supersymmetric (SUSY) particle (sparticle) masses from the LHC experiments. We also take into account the expected sparticle mass limits from the future HL-LHC experiment in our analysis. In strong contrast to the usual studies in the MSSM with minimal flavor violation (MFV), we find that the deviations of these MSSM decay widths from the Standard Model (SM) values can be quite sizable and that there are significant correlations among these deviations. All of these sizable deviations in the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msup><mi>h</mi><mn>0</mn></msup></math> decays are mainly due to large scharm-stop mixing and large sstrange-sbottom mixing. Such sizable deviations from the SM can be observed at high signal significance in future lepton colliders such as ILC, CLIC, CEPC, FCC-ee, and muon collider even after the failure of SUSY particle discovery at the HL-LHC. In case the deviation pattern shown here is really observed at the lepton colliders, then it would strongly suggest the discovery of QFV SUSY (the MSSM with general QFV).

In this work, we study the potential of analyzing the particular combination of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>κ</mi></math> modifiers given by <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msubsup><mi>κ</mi><mi>V</mi><mn>2</mn></msubsup><mo>−</mo><msub><mi>κ</mi><mrow><mn>2</mn><mi>V</mi></mrow></msub></math> to disentangle beyond Standard Model Higgs signals in double Higgs production with two extra light jets at LHC. We use the Higgs effective field theory approach, HEFT, for the gauge invariant description of these two <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>κ</mi><mi>V</mi></msub></math> and <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>κ</mi><mrow><mn>2</mn><mi>V</mi></mrow></msub></math> parameters representing the BSM interactions of the Higgs particle with the electroweak gauge bosons, <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>H</mi><mi>V</mi><mi>V</mi></math> and <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>H</mi><mi>H</mi><mi>V</mi><mi>V</mi></math>, respectively. We illustrate the bonus of studying this particular combination <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msubsup><mi>κ</mi><mi>V</mi><mn>2</mn></msubsup><mo>−</mo><msub><mi>κ</mi><mrow><mn>2</mn><mi>V</mi></mrow></msub></math> focusing in just one process, <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>H</mi><mi>H</mi><mi>j</mi><mi>j</mi></math>, instead of studying <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>κ</mi><mi>V</mi></msub></math> and <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>κ</mi><mrow><mn>2</mn><mi>V</mi></mrow></msub></math> separately using various processes. For the detailed analysis here, we focus on the particular final state <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>H</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><mi>γ</mi><mi>γ</mi><mo stretchy="false">)</mo><mi>H</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><mi>b</mi><mover accent="true"><mi>b</mi><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mover><mo stretchy="false">)</mo><mi>j</mi><msup><mi>j</mi><mo>′</mo></msup></math>, with two photons, two b-jets and two light jets, which we analyze fully including parton showering, fragmentation, hadronization and detector effects, in both signal and main background. We find that the sensitivity to <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msubsup><mi>κ</mi><mi>V</mi><mn>2</mn></msubsup><mo>−</mo><msub><mi>κ</mi><mrow><mn>2</mn><mi>V</mi></mrow></msub></math> could be notably improved at the HL-LHC by the proper cuts on the final state <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>b</mi><mover accent="true"><mi>b</mi><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mover><mi>γ</mi><mi>γ</mi><mi>j</mi><msup><mi>j</mi><mo>′</mo></msup></math> that select optimally the events with VBF-topology and <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>H</mi><mi>H</mi></math>-topology. In particular, we propose strategies based on a good isolation of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>γ</mi><mi>γ</mi></math> and b-jet pairs, and focus specially on specific variables like <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>η</mi><mrow><mi>γ</mi><mi>γ</mi></mrow></msub></math> and <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msubsup><mi>P</mi><mrow><mi>γ</mi><mi>γ</mi></mrow><mi>T</mi></msubsup></math> where the signal events distributions may efficiently discriminate between BSM signal versus SM background. We will show here how the high transversality of these two pairs in the signal (inherited from the high transversality of the <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>H</mi></math>’s) is correlated with the nonvanishing value of this <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><msubsup><mi>κ</mi><mi>V</mi><mn>2</mn></msubsup><mo>−</mo><msub><mi>κ</mi><mrow><mn>2</mn><mi>V</mi></mrow></msub><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></math> combination.

A search for the standard model Higgs boson decaying to a charm quark-antiquark pair, <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><mi>H</mi><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><mrow><mi>c</mi><mover accent="true"><mrow><mi>c</mi></mrow><mrow><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mrow></mover></mrow></mrow></math>, produced in association with a top quark-antiquark pair (<math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><mi>t</mi><mover accent="true"><mi>t</mi><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mover></mrow><mi>H</mi></math>) is presented. The search is performed with data from proton-proton collisions at <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msqrt><mi>s</mi></msqrt><mo>=</mo><mn>13</mn><mtext> </mtext><mtext> </mtext><mi>TeV</mi></math>, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mn>138</mn><mtext> </mtext><mtext> </mtext><msup><mi>fb</mi><mrow><mo>−</mo><mn>1</mn></mrow></msup></math>. Advanced machine learning techniques are employed for jet flavor identification and event classification. The Higgs boson decay to a bottom quark-antiquark pair is measured simultaneously and the observed <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><mrow><mi>t</mi><mover accent="true"><mrow><mi>t</mi></mrow><mrow><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mrow></mover><mi>H</mi></mrow><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mrow><mi>H</mi><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><mi>b</mi><mover accent="true"><mrow><mi>b</mi></mrow><mrow><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mrow></mover></mrow><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></mrow></math> event rate relative to the standard model expectation is <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msubsup><mn>0.91</mn><mrow><mo>−</mo><mn>0.22</mn></mrow><mrow><mo>+</mo><mn>0.26</mn></mrow></msubsup></math>. The observed (expected) upper limit on the product of production cross section and branching fraction <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><mi>σ</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mrow><mi>t</mi><mover accent="true"><mrow><mi>t</mi></mrow><mrow><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mrow></mover></mrow><mi>H</mi><mo stretchy="false">)</mo><mrow><mi mathvariant="script">B</mi><mo stretchy="false">(</mo><mi>H</mi><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><mi>c</mi><mover accent="true"><mrow><mi>c</mi></mrow><mrow><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mrow></mover><mo stretchy="false">)</mo></mrow></mrow></math> is 0.11 (0.13) pb at 95% confidence level, corresponding to 7.8 (8.7) times the standard model prediction. When combined with the previous search for <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>H</mi><mo stretchy="false">→</mo><mrow><mi>c</mi><mover accent="true"><mi>c</mi><mo stretchy="false">¯</mo></mover></mrow></math> via associated production with a <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>W</mi></math> or <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mi>Z</mi></math> boson, the observed (expected) 95% confidence interval on the Higgs-charm Yukawa coupling modifier, <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><msub><mi>κ</mi><mi>c</mi></msub></math>, is <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><mo stretchy="false">|</mo><msub><mi>κ</mi><mi>c</mi></msub><mo stretchy="false">|</mo></mrow><mo>&lt;</mo><mn>3.5</mn></math> (2.7), the most stringent constraint to date.
