One of the current goals of neutrino experiments is to precisely determine standard unknown oscillation parameters such as the leptonic <math><mi>C</mi><mi>P</mi></math> phase and mass hierarchy. Lorentz invariance violation represents a potential physics factor that could influence the experiment’s ability to achieve these precise determinations. This study investigates the influence of Lorentz invariance violation on oscillation dynamics, particularly through nonisotropic <math><mi>C</mi><mi>P</mi><mi>T</mi></math>-violating (<math><msubsup><mi>a</mi><mrow><mi>e</mi><mi>μ</mi></mrow><mi>X</mi></msubsup></math>, <math><msubsup><mi>a</mi><mrow><mi>e</mi><mi>τ</mi></mrow><mi>X</mi></msubsup></math>, <math><msubsup><mi>a</mi><mrow><mi>μ</mi><mi>τ</mi></mrow><mi>X</mi></msubsup></math>) and <math><mi>C</mi><mi>P</mi><mi>T</mi></math>-conserving (<math><msubsup><mi>c</mi><mrow><mi>e</mi><mi>μ</mi></mrow><mrow><mi>X</mi><mi>Y</mi></mrow></msubsup></math>, <math><msubsup><mi>c</mi><mrow><mi>e</mi><mi>τ</mi></mrow><mrow><mi>X</mi><mi>Y</mi></mrow></msubsup></math>, <math><msubsup><mi>c</mi><mrow><mi>μ</mi><mi>τ</mi></mrow><mrow><mi>X</mi><mi>Y</mi></mrow></msubsup></math>) parameters within the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment. We analyze the impact of these parameters on the mass hierarchy (MH) and Dirac <math><mi>C</mi><mi>P</mi></math> phase sensitivity measurements. Our findings indicate that while MH sensitivity remains relatively unaffected, only the presence of <math><msubsup><mi>c</mi><mrow><mi>μ</mi><mi>τ</mi></mrow><mrow><mi>X</mi><mi>Y</mi></mrow></msubsup></math> significantly deteriorates MH sensitivity, albeit remaining above the <math><mn>5</mn><mi>σ</mi></math> threshold. Additionally, we observe a substantial compromise in <math><mi>C</mi><mi>P</mi></math> sensitivity due to the <math><msubsup><mi>c</mi><mrow><mi>e</mi><mi>μ</mi></mrow><mrow><mi>X</mi><mi>Y</mi></mrow></msubsup></math> and <math><msubsup><mi>c</mi><mrow><mi>e</mi><mi>τ</mi></mrow><mrow><mi>X</mi><mi>Y</mi></mrow></msubsup></math> parameters.

Erratum: Differentiating dilatons from the axions by their mixing with photons

The quanta of scalar fields like the dilaton ( $$\phi $$  <math> <mi>ϕ</mi> </math>  ) of scale symmetry origin and those of pseudoscalar fields like the axion ( $$\phi '$$  <math> <msup> <mi>ϕ</mi> <mo>′</mo> </msup> </math>  ) of Peccei–Quinn symmetry origin couple to di-photons through dimension-5 operators. In a magnetized medium (MM), they in principle can interact with the two transverse ( $$A_{\parallel ,\perp }$$  <math> <mmultiscripts> <mi>A</mi> <mrow> <mo>‖</mo> <mo>,</mo> <mo>⊥</mo> </mrow> <mrow></mrow> </mmultiscripts> </math>  ) and one longitudinal ( $$A_{L}$$  <math> <msub> <mi>A</mi> <mi>L</mi> </msub> </math>  ) degree of freedom of photons ( $$\gamma $$  <math> <mi>γ</mi> </math>  ) as long as the total spin is conserved. However, of  $$\phi $$  <math> <mi>ϕ</mi> </math>   and  $$\phi '$$  <math> <msup> <mi>ϕ</mi> <mo>′</mo> </msup> </math>  , only one interacts with  $$A_{L}$$  <math> <msub> <mi>A</mi> <mi>L</mi> </msub> </math>  . We found that the ambient external magnetic field B and media break the intrinsic Lorentz symmetry of the system affecting the dispersion relation of the propagating modes. The boost and the rotational symmetry along and around B are however the ones that are preserved. Invoking C, P, and T symmetries, we analyze the mixing dynamics of  $$\phi \gamma $$  <math> <mrow> <mi>ϕ</mi> <mi>γ</mi> </mrow> </math>   and  $$\phi '\gamma $$  <math> <mrow> <msup> <mi>ϕ</mi> <mo>′</mo> </msup> <mi>γ</mi> </mrow> </math>   systems and the structural difference in their mixing pattern. It is noted that while the  $$\phi \gamma $$  <math> <mrow> <mi>ϕ</mi> <mi>γ</mi> </mrow> </math>   mixing matrix is  $$3\times 3$$  <math> <mrow> <mn>3</mn> <mo>×</mo> <mn>3</mn> </mrow> </math>  , the  $$\phi ^{\prime }\gamma $$  <math> <mrow> <msup> <mi>ϕ</mi> <mo>′</mo> </msup> <mi>γ</mi> </mrow> </math>   is governed by a  $$4\times 4$$  <math> <mrow> <mn>4</mn> <mo>×</mo> <mn>4</mn> </mrow> </math>   mixing matrix. Using the exact solutions of both systems in MM, we estimate the strength of the electromagnetic (EM) signals available due to these interactions, which are found to be different in strength. We conclude by commenting on (a) the possibility of detecting this difference in polarimetric observables of the EM signal, (b) the implications of these different mixing patterns with respect to the minimum detectable signal for astrophysical observations, and (c) the variation in the energy of the dispersed photons of different polarization with the variation in B.

Differentiating dilatons from the axions by their mixing with photons

Long-baseline neutrino oscillation experiments offer a unique laboratory to test the fundamental Lorentz symmetry, which is at the heart of both the standard model of particle and general relativity theory. The sidereal modulation in neutrino events will act as the smoking-gun experimental signature of Lorentz and <math><mrow><mi>C</mi><mi>P</mi><mi>T</mi></mrow></math> violation. In this study, we investigate the impact of the sidereal effect on standard neutrino oscillation measurements within the context of the NuMI Off-Axis <math><msub><mi>ν</mi><mi>e</mi></msub></math> Appearance Experiment (<math><mi>NO</mi><mi>ν</mi><mi>A</mi></math>) experiment. Additionally, we assess the sensitivity of the <math><mi>NO</mi><mi>ν</mi><mi>A</mi></math> experiment to detect Lorentz-violating interactions, taking into account the sidereal effect. Furthermore, we highlight the potential of the <math><mi>NO</mi><mi>ν</mi><mi>A</mi></math> experiment to set new constraints on anisotropic Lorentz-violating parameters.

Search for Lorentz violations through the sidereal effect at the <math><mi>NO</mi><mi>ν</mi><mi>A</mi></math> experiment

The particle content of the Singh-Hagen model (SH) in <math id="M2"><mi>D</mi></math> dimensions is revisited. We suggest a complete set of spin-projection operators acting on totally symmetric rank-3 fields. We give a general expression for the propagator and determine the coefficients of the SH model confirming previous results of the literature. Adding source terms, we provide a unitarity analysis in <math id="M3"><mi>D</mi></math> dimensions. In addition, we have also analyzed the positivity of the massless Hamiltonian.

Unitarity of Singh-Hagen Model in Dimensions

In this paper, we study charged-current deep-inelastic scattering of muon neutrinos off <math><mmultiscripts><mi>Fe</mi><mprescripts></mprescripts><none></none><mn>56</mn></mmultiscripts></math> nuclei by using the Hirai, Kumano, and Saito model. The LHA parton distribution functions (PDFs) - CT10 are used to describe the partonic content of hadrons. Modification of PDFs inside the nuclei is done by using EPPS16 parametrization at next-to-leading order. Target mass correction has also been incorporated in the calculations. Charged-current deep-inelastic scattering of muon neutrinos (<math><msub><mi>ν</mi><mi>μ</mi></msub></math>) off <math><mmultiscripts><mi>Fe</mi><mprescripts></mprescripts><none></none><mn>56</mn></mmultiscripts></math>

In this work, we study charged current quasi-elastic scattering (QES) of off nucleon and nucleus using a formalism based on the Llewellyn Smith (LS) model. Parameterizations by Galster et al. are used for electric and magnetic Sachʼs form factors of the nucleons. We use the Fermi gas model along with the Pauli suppression condition to take into account the nuclear effects in the anti-neutrino–nucleus QES. We calculate and charged current quasi-elastic scattering differential and total cross sections for different values of axial mass MA, and compare the results with data from the GGM, SKAT, BNL, NOMAD, MINERνA and MiniBooNE experiments. The present theoretical approach gives a good description of differential cross section data. The calculations with axial mass and 1.05 GeV are compatible with data from most of the experiments.
