In this study, we investigate the $R^2$ corrections to the dissociation of heavy quarkonium in the Gauss-Bonnet gravitational background. We analyze the impact of the Gauss-Bonnet parameter $\lambda_{\rm GB}$ on the spectral function of charmonium and bottomonium and examine the effect of $\lambda_{\rm GB}$ on the dissociation of heavy quarkonium. Our results show that $\lambda_{\rm GB}$ reduces the peak height and increases the peak width of the spectral function, suggesting that $\lambda_{\rm GB}$ enhances the dissociation of heavy quarkonium. We also discuss the variation in the dissociation of heavy quarkonium with the ratio of shear viscosity to entropy density and observe that the dissociation is easier in more perfect plasma. Additionally, we observe that the temperature decreases the peak height and widens the peak, thereby accelerating the dissociation.

We study the transverse momentum ( $p_T$ ) differential anisotropic flow and flow fluctuation in Pb+Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{_{NN}}}$ =5.02 TeV at the LHC. A (3+1)-dimensional CLVisc hydrodynamics framework with fluctuating TRENTO (or AMPT) initial conditions is utilized to simulate the space-time evolution of the quark-gluon plasma (QGP) medium. The effects of shear viscosity and the sub-nucleon structure on anisotropic flow and flow fluctuation are analyzed. Our result shows that shear viscosity tends to suppress both flow coefficients ( ${v_2\{2}\}$ , ${v_2\{4\}}$ , and ${\langle v_2\rangle}$ ) and flow fluctuation ( ${\sigma_{v_2}}$ ) owing to its smearing effect on local density fluctuation. The flow coefficients appear to be insensitive to the sub-nucleon structure, whereas the flow fluctuation ${\sigma_{v_2}}$ tends to be suppressed by the sub-nucleon structure in central collisions but enhanced in peripheral collisions. After taking into account the sub-nucleon structure effect, our numerical result can qualitatively describe the relative flow fluctuations ( ${v_2\{4\}/v_2\{2\}}$ , $F({v_2})$ ) measured by the ALICE Collaboration at the LHC. We further investigate the effects of shear viscosity, sub-nucleon structure, and initial condition model on the flow angle and flow magnitude decorrelations ( ${A_2^f}$ , ${M_2^f}$ ) using the four-particle correlation method. We find that the flow decorrelation effect is typically stronger in central collisions than in peripheral collisions. The flow angle decorrelation is found to be insensitive to the shear viscosity and sub-nucleon structure, whereas the flow magnitude decorrelation shows quite different behaviors when using the TRENTO and AMPT initial condition models. Our study sheds light on the anisotropic flow, transport properties, and initial structure of the QGP created in high-energy nuclear collisions.

In this paper, we investigate the localization of matter fields on a flat fermion thick brane. To localize scalar and fermion fields within a five-dimensional spacetime, we introduce the Yukawa coupling mechanism. Based on this framework, we study the localization and evolution of the scalar field, as well as the localization of the fermion field on the brane. For scalar fields, various effective potentials can be derived from the variation of the scalar field function $$F(\varPhi )$$ in the coupling function. The flat brane can exhibit an effective potential resembling either a volcano or an infinitely deep potential well. By choosing the appropriate coupling parameters, we can find the localized zero mode and some resonance states. This result is similar to the localization of the fermion field on a background scalar field. Additionally, we employ various resonance states as initial values to further explore the evolution on the brane. For the fermion field, we find that the fermion zero mode cannot be localized on the brane. However, by varying the coupling parameters, we obtain an asymmetric infinitely deep potential well. As the coupling parameters increase, the asymmetry become more pronounced.

Localization of matter fields on flat fermion brane

It is well known that when vacuum polarization emerges in quantum electrodynamics, the non-linear interaction between electromagnetic fields should be considered. Moreover, the corresponding field of non-linear electrodynamics can have important effects on black hole physics. In this work, we focus on the relationship between an observable quantity, that is, the shadow radius, and the first-order phase transition of non-linear charged AdS black holes in the framework of Einstein-power-Yang-Mills gravity. The results show that, under a certain condition, there exists a first-order phase transition from the viewpoint of both the shadow radius and horizon radius, which depend on temperature (or pressure). From the viewpoint of the shadow radius, the phase transition temperature is higher than that from the viewpoint of the horizon radius under the same condition. This may be due to the non-linear Yang Mills charge and the gravitational effect. This indicates that the shadow radius can be regarded as a probe to reveal the thermodynamic phase transition information of black holes. The thermal profiles of coexistent large and small black hole phases when the system is undergoing the phase transition are presented for two different values of the non-linear Yang Mills charge parameter:   $ \gamma=1,\; 1.5 $  . Furthermore, the effects of the non-linear Yang Mills charge parameter on the shadow radius and thermal profile are investigated.

Shadow thermodynamics of non-linear charged Anti-de Sitter black holes  

A special class of four-point correlation functions in the maximally supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory is given by the square of the Fredholm determinant of a generalized Bessel kernel. In this note, we re-express its logarithmic derivatives in terms of a two-dimensional Riemann-Hilbert problem. We solve the latter in the null limit making use of the Deift-Zhou steepest descent. We reproduce the exact octagonal anomalous dimension in 't Hooft coupling and provide its novel formulation as the convolution of a non-linear quasiclassical phase with the Fermi distribution in the limit of the infinite chemical potential.

Null octagon from Deift-Zhou steepest descent

Owing to the special structure of a five-dimensional Elko spinor, its localization on a brane with codimension one becomes completely different from that of a Dirac spinor. By introducing the coupling between the Elko spinor and the scalar field that can generate the brane, we have two types of localization mechanism for the five-dimensional Elko spinor zero mode on a brane. One is the Yukawa-type coupling, and the other is the non-minimal coupling. In this study, we investigate the localization of the Elko zero mode on de Sitter and Anti-de Sitter thick branes with the two localization mechanisms, respectively. The results show that both the mechanisms can achieve localization. The forms of the scalar coupling function in both localization mechanisms have similar properties, and they play a similar role in localization.

Localization of five-dimensional Elko spinors on dS/AdS thick branes  

We study the quasi-two-body decays 
					 by employing the perturbative QCD (PQCD) factorization approach, where the charmonia 
					 represents 
					 and 
					. The corresponding decay channels are studied by constructing the kaon-pion distribution amplitude (DA) 
					, which comprises important final state interactions between the kaon and pion in the resonant region. Relativistic Breit-Wigner formulas are adopted to parameterize the time-like form factor 
					 appearing in the kaon-pion DAs. The SU(3) flavor symmetry breaking effect resulting from the mass difference between the kaon and pion is taken into account, which makes significant contributions to the longitudinal polarizations. The observed branching ratios and the polarization fractions of 
					 are accommodated by tuning hadronic parameters for the kaon-pion DAs. The PQCD predictions for 
					 modes from the same set of parameters can be tested by precise data obtained in the future from LHCb and Belle II experiments.

It has been found that the zero mode of a five-dimensional Elko spinor could be localized on branes by introducing a Yukawa-type coupling between the Elko spinor and the background scalar field or the Ricci scalar. However, the Yukawa-type coupling is not appropriate for all brane models. In this paper, we explore other localization mechanism for the Elko spinor by introducing the non-minimal coupling $$f(\phi )\mathfrak {L}_{Elko}$$ <math><mrow><mi>f</mi><mrow><mo>(</mo><mi>ϕ</mi><mo>)</mo></mrow><msub><mi>L</mi><mrow><mi>Elko</mi></mrow></msub></mrow></math>  between the five-dimensional Elko spinor and the background scalar field. We give the general expressions of the Elko zero mode and the function $$f(\phi )$$ <math><mrow><mi>f</mi><mo>(</mo><mi>ϕ</mi><mo>)</mo></mrow></math> . Through two thick brane models and three concrete examples, we show that the Elko zero mode can be localized on the branes by this new mechanism. This provides us more possibilities of localizing the Elko zero mode.

Localization of five-dimensional Elko spinors with non-minimal coupling on thick branes

Using the one-boson-exchange model, we investigate the , , , , , and interactions by considering the one-eta-exchange and/or one-pion-exchange contributions. We further predict the existence of hidden-charm molecular pentaquarks. Promising candidates for hidden-charm molecular pentaquarks include a state with and the states with and . Experimental searches for these predicted hidden-charm molecular pentaquarks are an interesting future research topic for experiments like LHCb.

Recently, a new scalar-tensor braneworld model was presented in [Phys. Rev. D 86 (2012) 127502]. It not only solves the gauge hierarchy problem but also reproduces a correct Friedmann-like equation on the brane. In this new model, there are two different brane solutions, for which the mass spectra of gravity on the brane are the same. In this paper, we investigate localization and mass spectra of various bulk matter fields (i.e., scalar, vector, Kalb-Ramond, and fermion fields) on the brane. It is shown that the zero modes of all the matter fields can be localized on the positive tension brane under some conditions, and the mass spectra of each kind of bulk matter field for the two brane solutions are different except for some special cases, which implies that the two brane solutions are not physically equivalent. When the coupling constants between the dilaton and bulk matter fields take special values, the mass spectra for both solutions are the same, and the scalar and vector zero modes are localized on the negative tension brane, while the KR zero mode is still localized on the positive tension brane.
